- "What is this?"
"An experiment." - ―The human Nihil and Marchion Ro
A human male was a member of the Nihil marauder organization during the High Republic Era. In 228 BBY, the man served aboard the Gaze Electric—flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—when the Gaze traveled to the fifth moon of the Outer Rim planet Norisyn so Ro could investigate a calcifying plague at a crystal farm.
While at the moon, the human was sent by the Eye's secretary Thaya Ferr to deliver a tooka cat and several other items to Ro. After Ro threw the tooka onto the plagued crystals, the man asked the Eye what was happening, to which Ro responded by beating him and throwing him into the farm. Despite the human's attempts to escape, he eventually turned to dust after having been infected.
Biography
Being used as a test
- "Thaya, send someone down here with meat, the first three things you can put in a bag, along with several different designs of handheld weapons and that three-legged tooka cat that Bas Ear'lasr has been feeding in my hangar bay."
"Yes, Eye, immediately." - ―Marchion Ro and Thaya Ferr
The human Nihil served aboard the Gaze Electric (pictured).
A human male lived during the High Republic Era and served as a member of the Nihil marauder organization.[2] By 228 BBY,[1] he served on the Gaze Electric—the flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—though Ro did not pay attention to him.[2] That year,[1] the Gaze Electric traveled to the fifth moon of[2] the Outer Rim[3] planet Norisyn in the Nihil's Occlusion Zone region of space, where Ro personally investigated a calcified crystal farm that had been infected by a plague. During his research, the Eye contacted his secretary Thaya Ferr and asked her to have a three-legged tooka cat, meat, the first three things she could put in a bag, and several different handheld weapons brought to him at the crystal farm. Ferr followed Ro's request and sent the human Nihil to deliver the items to Ro aboard a shuttle.[2]
Shortly afterward, the shuttle arrived at Ro's barge, and the Eye dropped the barge's ladder down to the shuttle before ordering the man to climb up with his deliveries. As he made his way to Ro, the human clamored over with two bags, one that thunked on the barge's floor and the other carrying the tooka over his shoulder. After hearing the cat hiss and squeak, Ro took the bag containing the tooka and emptied it over the barge's rail and onto the plagued crystals. The man then snarled at Ro, asking what was happening, to which the Eye responded by grinning his teeth at the human while stating he was experimenting. Afterward, he shoved the human against the barge's rail before punching into the Nihil's solar plexus. With the man out of breath, Ro then pushed him over the edge of the rail onto the ground with a hard thump and groan.[2]
A drawn out death
- "So familiar. Like the Leveler's power."
- ―Marda Ro, to Marchion Ro, on the effects of the plague on the human Nihil
Ro smiled down at the man, though the ghost of his ancestor[2]—Marda Ro,[4] who was present aboard the barge but was unseen by the human—sighed at his actions. Marchion then commed the shuttle and ordered it to return to the Gaze Electric, causing the human to yell and complain up at him, which the Eye ignored. In an attempt to reach a nearby settlement, the man climbed over the infected crystals, in turn infecting himself, but as the shuttle had departed, the man had nowhere to go. The man then cursed the Eye and spat on the ground as the farm crumbled underneath him.[2]
The effects of the plague that infected the human were similar to those the Nameless (left) had on Force-sensitives.
The tooka, having also been infected, died, and when the next nighttime reached the moon, the human suffered the same fate after the plague reached his chest and turned his lungs to dust. After the human's death, Marchion mentally reflected on it, noting it had been excruciatingly slow, and attempted to describe how the effects of the plague felt. Unable to do so, Marda whispered to him that the effects felt similar and were like the calcifying effect the Nameless creatures had on Force-sensitives. After he eventually returned to the Gaze Electric, Marchion was asked by Ferr where Di'ir was. The Eye mentally wondered if she was asking about the tooka or the human Nihil but did not respond, and the secretary came to her own conclusions.[2]
Personality and traits
The man was heavily tattooed and had a light-blue[2] Eye of the Nihil insignia[5] painted across his entire face. When the human brought the tooka and other items to him, Marchion Ro mentally noted that he had never paid much attention to the man before and had no intention of starting to do so. As the human snarled to Ro asking what was happening at the crystal farm, the Eye detected a shameful fear in his voice.[2]
