A double-bladed spinning lightsaber was utilized by the Eleventh Brother during his time as an Inquisitor of the Galactic Empire. It was similar in appearance to other double-bladed spinning lightsabers wielded by Inquisitors.
Description

The Eleventh Brother wielding his lightsaber
The double-bladed spinning lightsaber was used by the Eleventh Brother, a member of the Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius. It could switch between[1] crescent mode, for a single blade, or disk mode, for[2] one[1] or two blades.[2] The weapon had a cylindrical hilt[1] with an emitter ring[4] with filigree near both emitters.[1] It contained two kyber crystals[3] that emitted red blades.[1]
History

Sometime between 18 BBY and 5 BBY,[5] the Eleventh Brother traveled to a remote village to investigate a report of a Jedi being there.[1] He[6] set the village on fire to find the Jedi.[7] After failing to find the Jedi, the Inquisitor dragged his lightsaber in the ground as he paced around two hostages, an old man and a boy that reported the Jedi. He leveled his lightsaber to the informant's throat as he questioned the truth of the informant's claims.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "It's based on the same outline I gave publishing for the novel. It was always the same story."
- ―Dave Filoni, on "Resolve"
The lightsaber's model changed to crescent mode due to an animation error during "Resolve."
The lightsaber first appeared in "Resolve,"[1] the sixth episode of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi,[6] the first installment of Tales, a Disney+ animated anthology series.[9] The weapon was first previewed earlier in the year in a trailer shown at the Tales of the Jedi panel on May 28 at Celebration Anaheim,[10] before it was made publicly available on September 10, 2022.[11] Concept art featuring the lightsaber was shown during the panel as well.[12] A sketch of the lightsaber from[13] Tales of the Jedi's supervising director[14] Dave Filoni's sketchbook was shared at an exhibit celebratingLucasfilm Animation's twentieth anniversary at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. The exhibit was available from July 24 to July 27, 2025.[13]
The episode "Resolve" includes an animation error with the lightsaber, specifically during a close-up of the Eleventh Brother threatening the informant where the weapon is in crescent mode, in comparison to the lightsaber being depicted in disk mode in the scenes immediately before and after the moment.[1] The 2016 young-adult novel Ahsoka, which was written by E. K. Johnston, features Ahsoka Tano battling and killing an Inquisitor known as the Sixth Brother during an uprising on the Outer Rim moon Raada and then purifying his lightsaber's kyber crystals.[15] After the release of Tales of the Jedi, Dave Filoni[8]—supervising director[14]—confirmed that "Resolve" was based on the same outline provided for the Ahsoka novel, and was intended to be the same story.[8] This article assumes the events of Ahsoka and "Resolve" are separate.

- ↑ Ahsoka—the events of which take place in 18 BBY according to Star Wars: Timelines—establishes that the Sixth Brother was the first Inquisitor Ahsoka Tano ever encountered. Therefore, the part of "Resolve" which features the Eleventh Brother must take place no earlier than that year. The end of "Resolve" depicts Tano becoming a part of the rebellion against the Galactic Empire, meaning it must be before the events of "Out of Darkness", which Timelines dates to 5 BBY, where she is working with the rebellion. Therefore "Resolve" must take place between 18 BBY and 5 BBY.
