- "Are you sure Quist isn't still up? Arath says she never sleeps."
"Arath's an idiot. There's no one here but creepmice." - ―Dooku and Sifo-Dyas
Creepmice were a type of mice. In 382 BBY, Path of the Open Hand member Yana Ro encountered the mice on the moon Jedha. Jedi Initiates Sifo-Dyas and Dooku sneaked into the Archive of Forbidden Artifacts on the planet Coruscant in 88 BBY, with the former youngling making a comment about creepmice.
Description
Creepmice were a type of mice that could be found living within the Jedi Archives of the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant[1] and in alleyways in the Holy City on the moon Jedha.[2]
History
Yana Ro saw creepmice while on Jedha.
In 382 BBY,[3] the Evereni Path of the Open Hand member Yana Ro encountered a family of creepmice scurrying away from a mangy felnox in an alleyway in Jedha's Holy City.[2] In 88 BBY,[4] Jedi Initiates Sifo-Dyas and Dooku planned to break into the Archive of Forbidden Artifacts, a hidden vault within the Archives. The pair entered the library late at night to avoid being caught by Chief Librarian Restelly Quist or other Jedi. Dooku was nervous about being spotted, but Sifo-Dyas assured him that only creepmice were present in the Archives at such a late time. Dooku later recounted the incident to his sister Jenza via holo-letter.[1] Around 23 BBY,[5] Dooku gave data disks of his conversations with Jenza to his recently recruited Sith assassin—Asajj Ventress—for her investigation into Jenza's location, and she listened to the message mentioning creepmice.[1]
Behind the scenes
Creepmice were first mentioned in a flashback in the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, written by Cavan Scott[1] and published on April 30, 2019.[6] The spelling of creepmice was confirmed by the audio drama's script release[7] on October 1 of the same year.[6] The mice first appeared in the 2023 young-adult novel Path of Vengeance, also written by Scott and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase II.[8]
