"Do you know about Anselmi throat intonations?"
"Oh, deep cut. Aren't those only performed underwater?"
"Exactly! I was reading that they use the low-frequency band as a carrier wave for deep-sea telemetry. Can you imagine? We could try to decode it in atmosphere!"
"I'm gonna be straight with you, Toa. Folks here are not are not gonna appreciate that."

Anselmi throat intonations was a type of music produced by the Anselmi,[1] an aquatic species native to the planet Glee Anselm.[2] It could only be performed underwater and used the low-frequency band as a carrier for deep-sea telemetry.[1]

In 9 BBY,[3] having read about the intonations, the academic Toa requested that the music producer Ashe Javi have the DJ droid DD-EC play Anselmi throat intonations at the cantina Pyloon's Saloon on the planet Koboh, suggesting that they could decode the subaqueous music in atmosphere. Javi was familiar with the music genre and considered it a deep cut, but refused the request, telling Toa that the other patrons would not appreciate the intonations.[1]

Behind the scenes

Anselmi throat intonations were mentioned in an optional conversation in the 2023 Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.[1]
