"I was under the impression that before Yord and I agreed to join in, you were the only non-Silinese contestant, but I saw a few others."
"Yes, Larin and Ezabeth. You don't have to worry about them."
―Jecki Lon and Lio Graf[2]

Ezabeth was a individual who, when they were between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five, lived on the planet Siline and,[2] in 134 BBY,[3] participated in that year's Crowning Convocation. Together with Larin, Lio Graf and the Jedi Padawans Jecki Lon and Yord Fandar, they were one of the only few non-Silinese contestants. Ezabeth was in attendance during the opening ceremony in the Grand banquet hall and later participated in the first day's dueling tournament.[2]

Behind the scenes

Ezabeth first appeared in the 2025 novel The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown by Tessa Gratton. In the novel Larin and Ezabeth are identified as a Twi'lek and a huge broad-shouldered Chagrian, but it is not further specified which of them is which.[2]

While the Twi'lek isn't mentioned anymore after the opening ceremony, the Chagrian appears again: During the dueling tournament, the Chagrian fought as part of the Amethyst team and won his first duel, qualifying for the other fights. In the second stage, he dueled Yord Fandar. During the fight, Fandar got the Chagrian turned around and swiped him with the tip of his silspar's blade near the neck. This startled the Chagrian, who stumbled back and was kicked off the stage by his opponent.[2]

Notes and references

  1. The events of The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown take place in 134 BBY per the following reasoning. The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown establishes that Jecki Lon is the Padawan of Sol and Yord Fandar has yet to undertake his Jedi Trials. The novel also states that Lon has been Sol's Padawan for at least two years, as well as that Sol had not taken a Padawan for years after his former Padawan, Verosha Aniseya, left the Jedi Order. From this, at least four years have passed since Aniseya left the Order. "Lost / Found"—the events of which take place in 132 BBY per the reasoning here—establishes Aniseya left the Order six years before its events, equating to 138 BBY. The episode further states Fandar passed his Jedi Trials two years before its events, meaning he must have passed his Trials in 134 BBY. As The Crystal Crown states that participants of the Crowning Convocations had to betweeen the ages of fifteen and twenty-five years old, Ezabeth must have been born sometime between c. 149 BBY and 159 BBY.
