An engineering officer was an officer that worked in engineering fields. The the Galactic Empire's engineering officers wore Imperial officer's uniforms with Rank insignia plaques that denoted the engineering officer's military rank,[1] and the New Republic's engineering officers were stationed on starships.[2] The Imperial officer Soden Petigar was an engineering officer for the Galactic Empire,[3] as was an attendee of the Maltheen Divide conference.[1]
