Emir was a title of rulership or authority over others.[2] Early in the Clone Wars, Wat Tambor[3]—who served as the Foreman of the Techno Union[2] and a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems's Executive Separatist Council[4]—acted as an emir during his occupation of the Nexus trading outpost.[3] Later, he was appointed Emir of Ryloth during the occupation of that planet.[2]
