Emir of Ryloth was a title[5] established by Count Dooku and granted to Wat Tambor,[1] the lead engineer and foreman of the Techno Union[3] and a member of the Executive Separatist Council.[5] Tambor led the Confederacy of Independent Systems operation to invade and occupy[6] the planet of Ryloth and was empowered by Dooku[1] to supervise the occupation[3] as an emir.[1] However, Tambor's occupation of Ryloth came to an end when he was captured by the combined might of the Galactic Republic and Twi'lek Resistance.[4]

Behind the scenes

The Emir of Ryloth position first appeared through Wat Tambor in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Storm Over Ryloth," within which Tambor appeared via flashbacks and hologram.[7] He was later identified as an emir through the subsequent episode "Liberty on Ryloth," within which Tambor appeared in the flesh,[4] and Tambor's entry in the StarWars.com Encyclopedia identified "emir of Ryloth" as a specific title.[6] The capitalization of "Emir" in the title was confirmed through Star Wars Bust Collection 42.[5]
