Edan II was the second orbit[3] of the Hythrope sector's Edan system within the Expansion Region[1] and Trailing Sectors regions,[2] situated in grid square M-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] By 2 BBY,[4] it was being used as an operations headquarters by an organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire secretly led by Senator Mon Mothma. Edan II was noted on a map of the galaxy made for Mothma that listed the rebellion's safe worlds, starfighter hubs at level five or higher, operations headquarters, shadow planets, and deep space caches. The map was ultimately archived by archivist Hendri Underholt in The Rebel Files, a compilation of non-electronic documents.[3]

Behind the scenes

Edan II was introduced into the current Star Wars canon through its mention in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, written by Daniel Wallace.[3] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity in the 1997 roleplaying boxed set Introductory Adventure Game, which was authored by Peter Schweighofer and Stephen Luminati and published by West End Games as part of Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[5]
