Duranium plating

Duranium plating

Duranium was a tough alloy used in military-grade plating. It was stronger than titanium but less resilient than impervium.[1] It was notably used in the cybernetic armor of General Grievous.[2] Those same duranium plates that served Grievous successfully were also used in the IG-100 MagnaGuard's frame to protect their vital areas.[3] Jedi Master Barnabas Vim wore duranium armor.[4]

Behind the scenes

Duranium first appeared in the Star Wars Legends short story "A Boy and His Monster: The Rancor Keeper's Tale," which was published as a part of Tales from Jabba's Palace in 1996.[5] In addition to Star Wars, duranium has appeared in the science fiction franchise Star Trek.
