Dune beetles were a type of beetle from Tatooine.[1] They were a subspecies or race of the sand beetle.[3]

Dune beetles appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] Dune beetles were almost identical to rockmites, rock beetles, cave beetles and sand beetles, using the same base model with different textures.[1]
