"I got manax root, I got Dozoisian Snark, even got some X-1. Just tell me what you're looking for. I got it all."
―Zlarb, to Ochi[3]

Dozoisian Snark was a type of poison[3] that originated from[1] the Outer Rim's Dozoisia system.[2] In 3 ABY,[4] the assassin Ochi of Bestoon—who was aligned with the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn[5]—visited the shop Zlarb's on[3] the Imperial capital world[6] Coruscant to acquire poisons for his mission to assassinate Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guards. The shop's propetior Zlarb mentioned Dozoisian Snark as one poison available, though the assassin ultimately did not purchase it.[3]

Behind the scenes

Dozoisian Snark was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the second issue of the 2021 comic miniseries Star Wars: Crimson Reign. The issue was written by Charles Soule and published by Marvel Comics[3] on February 2, 2022.[7] The venom originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was known as Dozoisian Snark Venom. It appeared in Boba Fett: Pursuit, a 2004 young-reader novel written by Elizabeth Hand as the sixth installment in the Boba Fett novel series.[8]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Dozoisian Snark in relation to the Dozoisia system.

As he is alive during Crimson Reign 5, and the events of Crimson Reign 2 precede the comic, it must also take place during that year.
