Docking ring

A docking ring was a sealed circular hatch with external magnetic couplings that allowed a medium-sized starship to dock to a larger capital ship or a space station. It could also be used to dock with a transparisteel gantry. The Millennium Falcon had two docking rings, situated respectively on the port and starboard sides of the ship.^[1]
