The directional droid,[1] or orbital tech-support droid[3] was a droid model used to assist Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptors while docking with hyperspace transport rings. The droids were fitted with yellow lights that turned green when the transport ring was correctly oriented, allowing the pilot to depart. When Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi departed Coruscant for Utapau towards the end of the Clone Wars, two directional droids helped orient his transport ring for his hyperspace journey.[2]
