- "The Imperial Security Bureau reports they have successfully apprehended insurgents planning a raid on Dermos in the Outer Rim Territories. The group claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on shipping vessels in the region."
- ―Dorna Parros, HoloNet News
Dermos was a planet in the Belsmuth sector of the Outer Rim Territories. A group of insurgents planning a raid on Dermos were apprehended by the Imperial Security Bureau in 3 ABY. When New Republic pilot Wedge Antilles went missing in 4 ABY, Ensign Ardin Deltura suggested Antilles might be at Dermos.
Description
Dermos was a planet[4] in the Dermos system of the Belsmuth sector in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and New Territories.[2] It fell within grid square O-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
History
- "The five closest worlds to Raydonia offer a glimpse of where Captain Antilles could have been heading next."
- ―Ardin Deltura
The Imperial Security Bureau stopped a raid planned for Dermos.
A group of insurgents responsible for attacks on shipping vessels in the Outer Rim planned a raid on Dermos but were apprehended by the Imperial Security Bureau[3] in 3 ABY.[5] The arrests were then covered in a HoloNet News broadcast by reporter Dorna Parros.[3]
In 4 ABY,[6] the New Republic pilot Wedge Antilles went missing while scouting for remnants of the Galactic Empire in the Outer Rim. As Raydonia was Antilles' last known location, Ensign Ardin Deltura suggested to Admiral Gial Ackbar that the missing pilot may have jumped to one of the five worlds nearest to Raydonia, listing Dermos, Akiva[4] in the Meerian sector,[7] Mustafar[4] in the Atravis sector,[8] and Tatooine and Geonosis[4] in the Arkanis sector.[8] Ackbar believed Antilles visiting Dermos could make sense and had scouts sent to all five worlds to search for the pilot, who had in fact been captured on Akiva.[4]
Behind the scenes
Dermos was first mentioned in the 2015 novel Aftermath, which was written by Chuck Wendig as the first installment in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.[4]
