Denab was a planet in the Sluis sector of the Outer Rim. During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, the planet was the site of a malfunctioning device built by the Rakata species that began generating new species of plants and animals.[3]
Prior to the Battle of Yavin, it was the site where Rebel Alliance starfighters led by Commander Grisserno defeated the Imperial Fourth Attack Squadron, composed of Victory-class Star Destroyers, at the Battle of Denab.
Behind the scenes
The PC game Star Wars: Rebellion mistakenly places the Sluis Sector and, consequently, Denab, in the Galactic Core.
