- "I want the delweed crop. All of it."
"All of—I see. Unfortunately, we have had some issues with our transports. I'm not sure we can guarantee a delivery."
"I don't want a delivery. I have ships of my own. I want the delweed, and I don't want to have to buy it through a broker." - ―Q'ira and Dennet Clyde, as the former posed as a wealthy grain buyer named Elesa Norre
Delweed was a grain found on the planet Thorum. During the Imperial Era, it was one of Thorum's minor exports and was popular offworld.[1] Around 13 BBY,[2] the Crimson Dawn operative Qi'ra—using the name Elesa Norre—posed as a grain buyer while infiltrating Thorum's the Hammers criminal syndicate.[1]
She met with the Hammers's leader, Dennet Clyde, demanding to buy his organization's delweed. Surprised by the inquiry, Clyde informed her of the Hammers's delivery limitations due to their transports malfunctioning. After Qi'ra insisted she had her own ships and wanted to purchase the product directly, Clyde left to draw up the sale agreement. Qi'ra quickly departed with a promise to return the following day; however, she instead returned a few days later, signing the provided delweed contracts with her false name. Shortly afterward, the strike phase of Crimson Dawn's ploy initiated, killing Clyde as retribution for encroaching on offworld contracts in Crimson Dawn territory.[1]
