"This bickering is pointless!"
―Grand Moff Tarkin[2]

A special and secure conference room[4] was located on the officer's deck[5] of the Overbridge of the Death Star battle station. Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin held regular meetings with his senior staff in that room.[4] It contained a polished black table, around which twelve seats were arranged. Drinks in cups were provided for each attendant.[2]

Tarkin held a meeting there announcing that the Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine had just disbanded the Imperial Senate.[2] Imperial officers present at the meeting included ISB Colonel Wullf Yularen, General Hurst Romodi, General Trech Molock, Chief of the Imperial Navy Admiral Conan Antonio Motti, Chief of the Imperial Army General Cassio Tagge, Chief Siward Cass[6] and General Moradmin Bast. Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor's Fist Darth Vader, was also present.[7] Like the rest of the station, the conference room was destroyed during the Battle of Yavin.[2]

Holoprojector.

The room had gray, metallic walls and a polished black circular table. The table, in the center of the room, had twelve seats arranged around it.[2]

During the conference immediately following the capture of Princess Leia Organa, only nine of these seats were occupied, as one belonged to Director Orson Callan Krennic who was killed during the Battle of Scarif.[6]

Although the table was round the seating arrangement had a distinct hierarchy. One of the chairs around the table had an extended back and was occupied by the most senior Imperial official present for the meeting. During the period before the Battle of Yavin, Grand Moff Tarkin held this position.[2]

There were computer terminals installed at each position on the table. In the center of the table was a highly polished holoprojector and could be used to display three-dimensional models of potential targets, as well as providing holographic tactical readouts for evaluations by Tarkin and the various Imperial strategists within the Imperial Military.[2]

History

"You may or may not have already reviewed the footage—it's my opinion that attempted murder at a meeting of the Joint Chiefs of the Galactic Empire merits a thorough, personal investigation by the members of High Command, but you gentlemen will of course act as you see fit."
―Conan Motti files an incident report over Darth Vader Force choking him during a meeting in the room[8]

The Death Star's conference room was used by the Joint Chiefs of the Imperial Military, high-ranking members of the Galactic Empire. These included Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, Emperor's Fist Darth Vader, Chief of the Imperial Army and General Cassio Tagge, Chief of the Imperial Navy and Admiral of the Fleet Conan Antonio Motti, General Moradmin Bast, Imperial Security Bureau Colonel Wullf Yularen, General Trech Molock, General Hurst Romodi, Director of Advanced Weapons Research Orson Callan Krennic,[6] and Chief Siward Cass. Death Star Troopers provided security for the conference room.[2]

In a meeting around the time of the dissolution of the Imperial Senate, the Joint Chiefs[8] gathered in the room and debated the evolving Galactic Civil War. Tarkin and Vader joined the meeting just as Tagge voiced his fear that the Alliance to Restore the Republic would continue to gain sympathy in the Senate, with Tarkin announcing the Imperial Senate's dissolution as Tagge was speaking. When Motti disrespected the Force and insulted Vader, arguing that the Death Star was a far superior weapon to the Force, Vader Force choked the admiral and only ceased when Tarkin asked him to.[2] Afterward, Motti submitted an incident report over Vader's actions. Footage was taken of the conference room during the meeting, including Vader's punishment of Motti, that he pointed to in the incident report.[8]
