The Crystal Flats was a large expanse of volcanic rock on Mustafar. The northern portion of the area was covered with crystals formed from mineral deposits in the lava, giving the entire region its name.
The Crystal Flats were known to be the home to a particularly aggressive subspecies of Mustafar lava flea. The area was also a location in which members of the Blackguard collected crystals for their lightsabers.
Behind the scenes
The Crystal Flats appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] The Crystal Flats were added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Trials of Obi-Wan on November 1, 2005.[1]
