"We lost another crew to trilom poisoning. It's not like we haven't enough to worry about, but now we have our friends to deal with."
―Chief Armstrong[1]

The Poisoned Miner's Camp was a mining camp in the Crystal Flats region of the volcanic planet of Mustafar. A Mustafarian mining crew used it as their base camp for their mining operation during the Galactic Civil War.[1]

History

"One of our field crews hit a patch of trilom gas while they were sampling. They didn't have the proper gear and now...never mind."
―Chief Armstrong[1]

In 1 ABY,[2] the miners at this camp hit a pocket of trilom gas and were poisoned by it. Trilom gas caused paranoia, dementia, eventually an agonizing death and there was no remedy. When Chief Armstrong learned of the fate of his mining crew, he asked a spacer to venture to the mining camp and put the miners out of their misery. The spacer used the camp's tracking computer to find the miners that were equipped with tracking beacons.[1]

Later, a spacer visited the camp and collected a HK-47 sword.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Poisoned Miner's Camp was a location in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] The Poisoned Miner's Camp was added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Trials of Obi-Wan on November 1, 2005. During the quest "Miner Madness," Chief Armstrong asked the player to travel to this camp and use the tracking computer to track down the trilom infected miners to kill them.[1]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
