The Crown of Verity was an artifact that served as a symbol of office for the Magistrates of the Outer Rim planet Benetage before the planet was abandoned. Those who wore it could discern whether others were telling the truth, but were simultaneously unable to lie. Through unknown means, the crown ended up at the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant.[2] Around 19 BBY,[3] during the Clone Wars, it was brought to the planet Auratera by Jedi Knight Tobar Ka-Teen. After Ka-Teen was believed to be killed by the Clone troopers that had accompanied him during Order 66, the crown was considered lost.[2] However, it had actually been stolen from Ka-Teen. During the New Republic Era, the artifact was in possession of the Nagai smuggler Ibo Truddispal.[1]
