"Listen to me. We're the only ones left here. Go. You have to live, and grow up to become who you're meant to be. Take care of her, Tor-Tu."
―Crane's mother[1]

A human female was the mother of Crane, the princess of the Kingdom of Biwaji. When the kingdom was attacked by the Galactic Empire, Crane's mother sang a song to Crane while watching a building burn with her. She later urged Crane to escape without her to survive and asked the astromech droid R9-TR2 to take care of her. Between 2 BBY and 4 ABY, as a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Crane remembered her mother while performing reconnaissance on the planet Joetz.

A human female was the mother of Crane, the princess of[1] the Kingdom of Biwaji.[3] When the kingdom was attacked by the Galactic Empire,[1] she[2] sang a song while standing with her hand on Crane's shoulder as they watched a building burn.[1] Later, Crane and her mother knelt behind the ruins of a wall as All Terrain Armored Transports walked nearby. As Crane sobbed, her mother placed her hand on her head and told her to run. Crane refused, not wanting to leave her mother. Her mother told her they were the only ones left and urged her again to leave so she could live and become who she was meant to be. She then told the royal astromech droid R9-TR2 to take care of Crane.[1]

Crane eventually became a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic,[1] and between 2 BBY and 4 ABY,[4] while performing reconnaissance on the planet Joetz, she came across a village destroyed by the Empire, causing her to remember watching the kingdom burn with her mother. While later being pursued by[1] AT-ATQ walkers,[3] she remembered when her mother told her to leave. After escaping the Empire on Joetz, Crane hummed the song her mother had sang.[1]

Personality and traits

Crane's mother had orange hair and light skin. She cared for Crane, wanting her to escape and survive when their kingdom was attacked, even though she would be left behind.[1]

Equipment

Crane's mother wore white clothing with red stripes around the wrists and shoulders and blue stripes around the neck. She wore a golden colored bracelet on her wrist.[1]

Behind the scenes

Crane's mother appeared in flashbacks in "The Song of Four Wings," an animated short film produced by Project Studio Q as part of the third volume of the non-canon Star Wars: Visions series, released on Disney+[1] on October 29, 2025.[5] She was voiced by Manaka Iwami in the original Japanese and by Jennie Kwan in the English dub.[1]
