Cousin was the second-highest family rank of the Chiss Ascendancy. In the Chiss hierarchy, it was situated above the rank of ranking distant but below the rank of blood.[1]

Mid Captain Samakro held the rank of cousin of the Ruling Ufsa family.[2]
