Corellian rescue frigates were a class of disc-hulled frigate that saw use by the Space Rescue Corps of the Galactic Republic around the time of the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Along with the nimble Sprint-class rescue craft, the Corellian rescue frigate was a starship model commonly deployed by the rescue corps in order to fulfill larger assignments, while also seeing utilization in locating missing starships and space battle survivors as well as responding to distress calls.[1]

Behind the scenes

Corellian rescue frigates were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the rescue frigate was introduced in the first issue of the miniseries Star Wars: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan: The Aurorient Express, which was authored by Mike Kennedy, illustrated by Lucas Marangon, and published by Dark Horse Comics[2] on February 27, 2002.[3]
