Communications officer

Communications officer, also known as comm officer,^[9] comms officer,^[10] Com officer, Comms Technician^[11] or COMMO for short, was a title held by beings who operated and controlled communications, be it aboard a starship^[12] or at a ground base.^[5] During a space battle, the COMMO's main job was to monitor transmissions between ships of the fleet.^[12] Clone communications officers served in the Republic Military during the Clone Wars.^[1]

The human Masil Veit served as a communications officer aboard the Super Star Destroyer Executor,^[13] the personal flagship of the Sith Lord Darth Vader and command ship of the Death Squadron naval force.^[14] Ives served as an Imperial communications officer on board the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Vigilance during the Battle of Endor.^[2] Major Taslin Brance served as a communications officer at the Resistance base on D'Qar during the Cold War.^[5] Elia Kane served as a communications officer in an Imperial remnant led by Moff Gideon aboard his light cruiser during his attempts to capture Grogu^[8] in 9 ABY.^[15]
