"…ongoing Imperial operations targeting another dozen worlds. Burnin Konn, Cadovant, [sic] Abednedo, and Commenor among them. Some of these appear to be solely punitive on the part of the Empire, though the purpose of many others is far less clear."
Admiral Gial Ackbar[8]

Commenor was an ancient, conservative planet located in the Colonies region of the galaxy. It was located in the Commenor system along the Trellen Trade Route, and was an endpoint of the Commenor Run and the Quellor Run hyperspace routes.

History

Rebel General Jan Dodonna hailed from Commenor,[9] as did the Imperial officer Fatimah Nurii.[10] During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the planet supported the Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine[6] and was home to an underground resistance movement.[11]

In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor[8] in 4 ABY,[12] the Empire targeted Commenor as part of Operation: Cinder, attempting to destroy the world after the death of the Emperor.[8] Civilizations on the world saw devastation at the hands of the Empire's fleets as a result.[13] After the signing of the Galactic Concordance, which conditionally allowed the remnants of the Empire to peacefully co-exist with the New Republic, Commenor came under control of the Inner systems' Imperial remnant.[6] Thirty years after the Battle of Endor, Commenor was a member world in the New Republic, where it was represented in the Galactic Senate by Thanlis Depallo.[7]
