Clone flametroopers were clone troopers of the flame trooper corps in the Grand Army of the Republic.
Description
Clone flametroopers were a group of specialized clone troopers[3] who used BT X-42 heavy flame projectors[2] to clear enclosed places. They were trained to resist their natural instinct to retreat from fire. Clone flametroopers were skilled in armed and unarmed combat, as well as heavy weaponry.[3]
Initially, clone flametroopers were outfitted with MK I insulated armor, but that armor was severely flawed in that it did not have sufficient respirator filtration. The problem was quickly fixed in the MK II "Hotspot" Insulated Armor and they switched to that armor. They were equipped with BT X-42 heavy flame projectors.[2] Clone flametroopers relied on their insulated body gloves, coolant reservoirs, and their fireproof equipment to prevail in tackling dangerous objectives.[3] Like most clone troopers,[4] clone flametroopers stood at 1.83 meters, or 6 feet tall.[3]

A group of flame troopers under the command of Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi[1] and Clone Commander Jet[5] were highly effective against the Geonosians during the Second Battle of Geonosis.[1]
