The MK I "Hotspot" insulated armor was a type of insulated clone trooper armor utilized by the clone flametrooper corps of the Galactic Republic's clone army during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. While it possessed thermal shielding to protect its wearers from intense heat, the armor was heavily flawed in design in that it possessed an insufficient respirator filtration system. As a result, the MK II "Hotspot" Insulated Armor was created and used by the Republic's flametroopers.[1]

The MK I "Hotspot" insulated armor was mentioned in Rise of the Separatists, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019.[1]
