The Celantes[2] were a sentient species that existed in the galaxy.[1] Chippin Jat was a member of this species.[2]

Biology and appearance

This bipedal humanoid sentient species was distinguished by their hairless orange skin of varying shades, with dark mottled spots. They had elongated heads, with low-set mouths surrounded by pointed tendrils, as well as large, bulging, glassy black eyes, and a variety of short tube-like growths spread across their craniums.[1] Infant Celantes hatched instead of being produced via live birth.[2]

Species in the galaxy

In 132 BBY,[3] a member of this species,[1] Chippin Jat,[2] was a youngling within the Jedi Order, being instructed by the Jedi Master known as Sol.[1]

Behind the scenes

The species made their debut in the first episode of the 2024 television series, Star Wars: The Acolyte, directed by Leslye Headland.[1] They were originally designed by concept artist Jake Lunt Davies for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, going unused until it was recycled for The Acolyte.[4] Their name was revealed within the Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide[2] which released in select countries on June 5, 2025.[5]
