Caraxl was an astronomical object located in the Cassander sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 34 ABY, during the Cold War between the Resistance and the First Order, the Resistance attempted to deliver relief supplies to Caraxl; however, the mission was aborted after Resistance pilot Tallissan Lintra reported that First Order TIE fighters were on route to intercept them.

Description

Caraxl was an astronomical object[2] located in the Caraxl system within the Cassander sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It was situated in grid square K-5 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] within the New Territories.[3]

History

During the Cold War between the Resistance,[2] a small private military force created by the New Republic senator Leia Organa;[4] and the First Order,[2] the successor of the Galactic Empire;[5] Caraxl fell within the Borderlands[2] region between the territories of the First Order and New Republic,[6] and a group of pirates backed by the First Order started to raid Caraxl and other locations in the Cassander sector.[2]

In 34 ABY,[7] the Resistance sent a group of bombers and A-wing starfighters to stop both the pirates' and First Order's plans of taking control of the sector. Three days after the Resistance's mission to the celestial body Mamkoda, Resistance bombers tried to deliver supplies to Caraxl. After Resistance pilot Tallissan Lintra reported that First Order TIE fighters were on an intercept course to their position, the bombers had to abort the mission due to orders to avoid any confrontation with the First Order that could cause problems in the New Republic Senate.[2]

Behind the scenes

Caraxl was mentioned in the 2017 canon replica journal book The Last Jedi: Bomber Command, written by Jason Fry.[2]
