Capacitor

A capacitor^[1] or power capacitor^[2] was a device used in the galaxy to store energy. Capacitors were used in a variety of machines, including weapons,^[3] starships,^[4] and even droids.^[5]

The scientist Galen Walton Erso hoped to generate outbursts of raw power that could be harvested and stored in capacitors for use on worlds in need.^[1] Capacitors were also used in droids like B1-series battle droids. In these models of battle droids their capacitors were a weak point, and clone snipers could hit between the droid's capacitors to take out the unit.^[5] The ends of electrostaffs contained a discharge capacitor.^[3] Shortly after the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Bad Batch had their ship's capacitor stolen by an Ordo Moon Dragon.^[4]

In 3 ABY,^[6] ND-5 gave a power capacitor to Kay Vess after she recovered a stolen artifact for the Ashiga Clan from their rivals Crimson Dawn. Vess used the capacitor to create a powerful blaster module for her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol.^[7]
