Bootana Shagplan was a world[2] located in the Bootana Shagplan system, a part of the Bootana Hutta area in the Hutt Space portion of the Slice. It was connected by a hyperlane to the Elgit and Langoona systems[1] and shared its name with the Huttese words "bootana" and "shag," which meant "garden"[2] and "slave," respectively.[3]
Bootana Shagplan served as a clearinghouse for luxury goods that were being transported to the Bootana Hutta's throneworlds of the Hutt clans. It was also the site of the most exclusive market of enslaved people in the Bootana Hutta. Many of the individuals who were the most expensive and sought after by the Hutts were sold at Bootana Shagplan. Those people were considered worthy enough to be allowed into the Bootana Hutta.[2]
Behind the scenes
Bootana Shagplan was first mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book co-authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square S-10.[1]
