Biotics were a hybrid between a host species and a species of parasitic organism found on the starship, Gorgorror. After the parasitic organism latched onto its host, it would slowly develop, and eventually alter its host to the point where they become the monstrous hybrids referred to as "Biotics" by the Mécateks, the people captured by the Gorgorror. Biotics were aggressive toward others and had the strength to tear people apart. They would wander the passageways of the ship in search of food, sometimes in groups lead by a dominant male. They would eventually split into about ten polymorphic clusters where new parasites would be reborn. There was Sullustan hermit who managed to stabilize the evolution of hybrids by using a fungal serum. The Sullustan led a community of non-aggressive Biotics, pacified thanks to the fungal serum. The other, aggressive Biotics hated this community and constantly attacked it.[1]
