Basko was a genderless Wrosidian who was a "relative" of Bihun, another Wrosidian from the same stalk, although they were not siblings.[1] In 132 BBY,[2] Basko and Bihun were in[3] the Lomi Usqi Noodle Shop on the planet Ueda,[1] eating noodles at a table with[3] the Reshtini Kesmer Faloodi.[1] During their meal, the human assassin[3] Mae-ho Aniseya[1] entered the establishment and passed by their table. Aniseya attacked companions of the Jedi Master Indara and when she threw[3] the Duraceph Lobereki[1] over a table, Basko was standing up and watching the altercation. Soon after, Basko and Bihun abandoned their table.[3]
The Wrosidian had eyes with red sclera and brown irises and green skin, which shifted to brown on Basko's nose and had a purple tint on some parts of their face, such as around the eyes. Basko had a visage considered friendly and, while in the noodle shop, they wore dirtied gray robes, a large belt, and corrugated bellow-plates that assisted with breathing.[1]
Behind the scenes
Basko appeared, albeit unidentified, in "Lost / Found,"[3] the first episode of the live-action Disney+ series The Acolyte, which aired on June 4, 2024.[4] Prior to the debut in the episode, the Wrosidian was first depicted in a trailer shown exclusively at Celebration Europe[5] on April 7, 2023, during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase.[6] The individual was later identified as Basko in the Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo, published in 2025.[1] Basko was brought to life by a droid and creature FX team that was led by the creative supervisor Neal Scanlan,[7] and the noodle shop scenes[8] that featured them[3] were filmed at Shinfield Studios,[8] England.[9] In real life, bakso is a type of meatball soup from Indonesia[10] and bihun is an Indonesian noodle dish,[11] with the two dishes sometimes being served together.[12] Basko was designed and built by Tim Berry and Nicolas Ferrard, performed by Hannah Hornsby and Caitlin Nicholas, and puppeteered by Wim Oppenheimer and Patrick Comberford.[13]
