"I miss the taste of banzon, a minty spice that enlivens every tastebud."
"You should talk to Greez, maybe he can whip something up that reminds you of home."
"A wise suggestion, sojourner."
―Tulakt and Cal Kestis — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[1]

Banzon was a minty spice that could be found on the homeworld of the alien fortune teller Tulakt.[1]

In 9 BBY,[2] Tulakt mentioned the taste of banzon and described it as enlivening the taste buds during a conversation about what she missed from home with the Jedi Knight Cal Kestis in the Pyloon's Saloon cantina on the planet Koboh. Kestis then suggested she ask the chef Greez Dritus to cook her something that reminded her of home.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, banzon was mentioned in an optional conversation in the 2023 Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.[1] Banzon originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was mentioned in the second issue of the Star Wars: River of Chaos comic-book, written by Louise Simonson and released by Dark Horse Comics[3] on July 1, 1995.[4]
