- "There's a large-scale civil war on Balith. They've requested our assistance. Anakin, you will leave immediately to command the Third Legion."
- ―Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi
Balith was a planet located in the Inner Rim's Balith system.[1] During the year 21 BBY,[4] in the Clone Wars, the system erupted into civil war, and Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex were sent to the world by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi to command the Third Legion.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Balith system was first mentioned in 2009's The Essential Atlas, and the planet Balith was first mentioned in "Assassin," an episode of the third season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. The writers who compiled The Essential Atlas were made aware of the developments of the episode in time to mention it in the collection and give it a corresponding location in the Inner Rim. "Assassin" aired on October 22, 2010.[5]
