The Bad Hurt Time was the name given by the female charhound Ember to an event that occurred when she was a puppy where a spike-sparrow killed all but one member of her charhound pack. The incident took place on Ember's homeworld,[2] the Outer Rim[3] world Elphrona,[2] by 232 BBY[1] during the High Republic Era. After the sparrow had killed the other charhounds in her pack, Ember engaged in a fight with the spike-sparrow, ultimately crawling away from the fight.[2]
Shortly after the Bad Hurt Time, Ember became part of a second pack, coming to be owned by the Jedi Bell Zettifar and living with[2] the Jedi stationed at the Jedi outpost on Elphrona.[3] Around 228 BBY,[4] Ember mentally recalled the Bad Hurt Time when she reflected on her life while on[2] the Wild Space[5] planet Sophros, recalling she had known friends ever since just after the Bad Hurt Time.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The High Republic: Trials of the Jedi establishes the Bad Hurt Time took place before Ember came to be owned by Bell Zettifar. As Zettifar owns Ember during the events of The High Republic: Light of the Jedi—which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia dates the events of to 232 BBY—the Bad Hurt Time must have occurred by that year.
