Ayy Vida was a Twi'lek female assassin who was the enslaved consort of the crime lord Hat Lo. Vida worked as a dancer at the Outlander Club on the planet Coruscant and used her position at the club to get access to her targets.
While at the club in 22 BBY, she met the con artist Achk Med-Beq and it was love at first sight for Vida. She hoped that his association with his fellow con artist partner Dannl Faytonni would free her, as she thought Faytonni was a Republic officer. Vida, Med-Beq, and her Twi'lek acquaintance Lunae Minx had an impromptu chat when the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker visited the club searching for the bounty hunter Zam Wesell. When the Wesell was disarmed, the group turned to stare. Soon after, Vida went to entertain Lo's clients.
Biography
Assassin and dancer
Ayy Vida worked at the Outlander Club (pictured)
Ayy Vida was a Twi'lek female[1] assassin who doubled as a dancer at the Outlander Club,[3] a nightclub and gambling hall located in the Uscru Entertainment District of the[4] planet[5] Coruscant.[4] Vida used her skills and her position at the club to gain access to her targets.[3] The club was visited by[6] crime lord[7] Hat Lo,[1] whom Vida was a long working[1] enslaved[2] consort for.[1] Vida was kept under watch by crime lord's Weequay enforcer Tas Kee,[8] and dreamed of being rescued from[2] the forced[8] servitude,[2] and would have left the crime lord, if it wasn't for her fear of of being hunted down by Kee.[2] Vida also frequented the Outlander but had no love for the place. Her Twi'lek acquaintance, Lunae Minx, often visited the club to say hello to Vida.[8] In 23 BBY,[9] Vida appeared in a HoloNet advertisement for Spysprite mini-holocams.[10]
Love at first sight
During a night[11] in 22 BBY,[12] Vida was at the Outlander Club,[1] when the con artist Achk Med-Beq,[3] dressed in the uniform of a Republic Guard, entered. The two locked eyes[1] and it was love at first sight for Vida.[13] Meeting him, she thought for sure that she would be able to leave behind her life.[3] Vida hoped that his association with[2] fellow con artist[14] Dannl Faytonni, whom she believed was a Republic officer who could free her from enslavement, would allow her to meet him.[2] However, her hope was vain as Med-Beq was a poseur who frequented clubs for his own nefarious purposes.[15]
Vida, Med-Beq, and Minx's attention was drawn by the Jedi.
When the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker entered the club searching for the bounty hunter Zam Wesell, Vida, Med-Beq, and Minx had an[11] impromptu[16] chat and stood at a table. When Kenobi disarmed Wesell, the group turned to stare at the situation. The Padawan told the clubgoers to go back to their drinks and the group left the club.[11] While Wesell was interrogated outside the club, Vida moved to a table to entertain Lo's clients.[17] During the Clone Wars[2] that started shortly after her visit,[11] Vida frequented the bars and nightclubs of Coruscant.[2]
Boba Fett arrives
Boba Fett (pictured) arrived at the Sign of the Tri-Forked Tongue.
In 19 BBY,[18] the young bounty hunter Boba Fett was invited by Lo to the Sign of the Tri-Forked Tongue, a cantina in the Coruscant underworld ran by the crime lord. Fett sought out weapons for his planned confrontation with Jedi Master Mace Windu. Standing next to a Codru-Ji bouncer blocking the club's doorway, Vida yawned before the bounty hunter announced that he was here to see Lo. Vida blinked, then quietly slipped away. Fett was waved in by the bouncer and he approached Lo.[19]
As Fett would not speak to Lo with his Codru-Ji bodyguards, the crime lord commanded his bodyguards to go. Lo asked Fett to sit, and, as if by magic, Vida appeared at his shoulder carrying two beakers of fizzing liquid. Lo took one drink while the Twi'lek offered the other to Fett. The crime lord exclaimed for Fett to drink with him and raised his drink, waiting for the bounty hunter to do the same. Fett declined at dumped his drink's contents on the floor. An acrid smell arose from the ground, followed by a puff of greenish flame and a sizzling noise. Fett identified the drink as Dozoisian Snark Venom and Lo feigned suprise. The crime lord handed his drink back to Vida and glared at her while she made a hasty retreat. After the attempted poisoning, the topic made a change to the weapons Fett sought out. The bounty hunter agreed to buy the flechette pistol and the CryoBan grenades Lo had in the cantina. Vida reentered with a shady looking Bothan carrying the weapons, and after examining the weapons closely, approved of them. Lo dismissed Vida and the Bothan and Fett began armoring himself.[19]
Personality and traits
Vida was dissatisfied with her life as a consort to Hat Lo and sought to escape,[3] only being discouraged by her fear of Tas Kee.[1] She dreamed of being rescued from the servitude[2] she grew to despise,[3] liking nothing more than to escape Coruscant and Lo's grasp.[8] Her[8] sad[16] life was not all bad, as fellow Twi'leks came by the Outlander Club to say hello to her.[8] One of the Twi'leks was[8] her acquaintance[1] Lunae Minx.[8] Another acquaintance of Vida's was Achk Med-Beq,[1] with whom it was love at first sight for the Twi'lek.[13] She hoped their connection would allow her to meet Dannl Faytonni, a man who she thought could free her.[2]
A slender[19] Twi'lek female,[1] Vida's appearance was unusual among her species,[2] and was set apart from uniformly pigmented Twi'lek's as her[1] yellow skin featured a[2] mottled pattern[1] of orange stripes.[1] Vida had brown eyes and was also considered beautiful.[1] She had a female Twi'lek name that meant "star." Her clan surname meant "pleasing to the senses."[20]
Skills and abilities
The Twi'lek had average intelligence, slightly-below average speed, and low diplomacy skills, strength, and fighting ability. She was not Force-sensitive.[3]
Equipment
Vida wore a yellow and orange patterned bodysuit, a silver headdress, and silver heels.[21]
