Ayo Tam[2][3] was a short alien individual who could be found on Tatooine at some point during 9 BBY. He and an Aki-Aki were seen walking and talking near the Mos Eisley spaceport when exiled Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi made his way towards an outbound passenger transport in an attempt to save a young Princess Leia.[1]

Equipment

Ayo Tam donned loose-fitting pants and a shirt which were dark brown and tan respectively, as well as a brown vest and large utility belt. Additionally, he equipped himself with a cybernetic eyepatch-like monocle sporting a dark red lens and three distinct head straps.[1]

Ayo Tam first appeared, albeit unidentified, in the first episode of the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi television series, which aired on May 26, 2022.[4] Originally, make-up effects artist Shaun Smith and Joe Pepe designed the character's head for an unrelated project. Miles Teves subsequently sculpted its final, detailed appearance for a project that was ultimately canceled. Shaun Smith then repurposed this bust for its eventual use in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Smith asked concept artist Dylan Howie-Richardson to create an updated design for the character,[2] which was then implemented as a background character within the series' first episode.[3] Ayo Tam was played by actress Jo Osmond Morriss, being one of her many roles as background characters among Star Wars television.[2]

This was originally sculpted by Miles Teves for a completely different project that did not come to fruition. I had Dylan Howie-Richardson sketch out an alien based on the sculpture and thus Ayo Tam was born into the colorful Star Wars universe!
