Atraken was a terrestrial planet[2] in the Atraken system in the Rolion sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Rich with natural mineral resources, both the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Galactic Republic wanted control over Atraken during the Clone Wars,[3] which was waged between 22 and 19 BBY.[4] During the conflict, there was an attack on Atraken at some point after the Battle of Abrion Bridge. Although the battle was ultimately a Republic victory, the planet was rendered inhospitable and millions died.[2]
