- "Don't let them scare you, Bee. They can't do that. They're in our home."
- ―Maarva Andor, to B2EMO, when the Corpos threaten to pull his power supply
The Andor household[4] was a residence where the Andor family on the planet Ferrix. By 18 BBY, it was home to Clem Andor, Maarva Andor, and their adoptive son Cassian Andor.[5] It continued to house Maarva, Cassian, and their droid B2EMO[3] by 5 BBY.[6] After Cassian became a target of the Preox-Morlana, several officers led by Syril Karn invaded the home, ransacking Cassian's room and holding Maarva and B2EMO prisoner for some time.[3]
Behind the scenes
- "My character's house is built from parts of old spaceships. I used to go out and just stare at it. Breathtaking."
- ―Fiona Shaw
The Andor household was first pictured in the teaser trailer for the Star Wars: Andor television series, which was released on May 26, 2022.[8] It first appeared in "That Would Be Me," the second episode of the series,[2] which aired on September 21, 2022.[9] It was first identified in an episode of This Week! in Star Wars.[4]
Concept art of Cassian Andor, Maarva Andor, and B2EMO in the Andor household by Luke Hull
Production designer Luke Hull created a sketch of Cassian Andor, Maarva Andor, and B2EMO in the household.[10] The household's interior and exterior were the same set, making it fully three-dimensional.[11] The household was carefully crafted to explain Maarva's character and show that her life had become her chair. Hull worked on the chair, B2EMO's charging unit, and the hydroponics in the window.[10] The household was made to look like it was built from parts of old starships.[7] According to[12] executive producer[6] Tony Gilroy, everything on Ferrix was filmed first.[12] One of the first scenes filmed with Diego Luna and Fiona Shaw, the actors who played Cassian and Maarva Andor, respectively, was an argument between the characters in the house.[13] Around the end of his three week stint on season one, actor Eugene Lin and his fellow performers had a chance to walk around the Ferrix village set, which enabled him to relax within Maarva's home.[14]

Notes and references
- ↑ "Announcement" takes place shortly after "Kassa," which dates itself to 5 BBY. In the episode, Maarva Andor says she has avoided the square on Rix Road for 13 years due to Clem Andor's death, meaning he must have died no sooner than 18 BBY. Since Clem Andor can be seen in the Andor household in "Rix Road," the building must have been constructed before 18 BBY.

Eugene Lin (@its_eugene_lin) on Instagram (post on November 22, 2022): "Behind the scenes and a frame from LucasFilm / Disney+’s ‘Star Wars: Andor’ (2022) season 1, episode 12 ‘Rix Road’, playing an Imperial Officer (Ferrix). Despite being the season finale, the episode was actually filmed in the middle of the production run and was the last scene shot at the specially built set in Marlow. I was very excited to get into armour and was a little disappointed when we only got into the under layers, but it was also the only time I got to wear the Imperial cap. This scene involved setting up base at the hotel on Ferrix. It was a lot of fun looking at all the incredibly detailed props and getting to play with actual retractable metal batons. Toward the end of our three-week stint, we were given the thrilling privilege of roaming the entire village set for a few hours, visiting workshops, bars, restaurant and even relaxing in Maarva Andor’s apartment. Most days, I had to pinch myself because it was such a dream come true. © 2022 & TM Lucasfilm Ltd #actionactor #behindthescenes #onset #starwars #starwarsandor #andorseason1 #imperialofficerferrix #theempire #imperialtrooper #imperialarmy #costumearmour #asianmalemodel #asianmuscle #londonmodel #singaporemodel #eugenelin" (backup link)
