"An Unlikely Friendship" is the forty-fifth episode of Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures. It premiered on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel on April 24, 2020. It partially adapts moments from Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.
Plot summary
The stormtrooper FN-2187 enters Poe Dameron's cell aboard the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Finalizer and tells him that he can help him escape. Poe asks why he is helping him, and FN-2187 replies that because it is the right thing to do.
In the Finalizer's crowded hangar. Poe and FN-2187 climb into the cockpit of a two-seater TIE/sf space superiority fighter. Poe quips that he has always wanted to fly one of those. They fire up the TIE fighter but find that it is still tethered to the hangar. Following a fire fight with First Order stormtroopers, they blast their way out of the hangar. While taking out the Finalizer's laser cannons, Poe asks FN-2187 what his name is. FN-2187 gives his trooper designation but Poe refuses to use that and calls him Finn, a name he happily adopts.
Later, Poe and Black Squadron blast First Order forces during the Battle of Takodana. Finn joins the battle and shoots down a pair of stormtroopers. While Poe pursues and shoots down a TIE/fo space superiority fighter, Finn cheers as Poe races by.
Later, Finn reunites with Poe and tells Dameron that he completed his mission to deliver the Map to Skywalker to the Resistance. Finn wants to return Poe's jacket to him, but Poe tells him to keep it because it suits him so well. The two friends then stand beside Poe's T-70 X-wing starfighter Black One.
