Minikits were white containers found throughout the galaxy that contained pieces for miniature versions of various vehicles found in the galaxy. From 32 BBY to 35 ABY, minikits could be found in locations ranging from open space, the moons Endor and Kef Bir, the planets Naboo, Tatooine, Coruscant, Geonosis, Utapau, Kashyyyk, Mustafar, Hoth, Bespin, Jakku, Takodana, Ilum, Cantonica, Pasaana, Kijimi, Exegol,[1] and Ahch-To,[2] and vessels such as the Tantive IV, the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station, the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station, and the Eravana.[1] A minikit was also present in the Forcehold, a dimension beyond time and space, locked behind the gates of a miniature version of Boba Fett's Palace.[3]

Behind the scenes

Minikits first appeared in the Canon continuity in the non-canon 2016 video game LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, developed and published by Traveller's Tales.[2] Prior to their reintroduction in the Canon continuity, minikits had first appeared in the Legends continuity in the non-canon 2005 video game LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, also developed by Traveller's Tales and published by LucasArts.[4]

In each of the LEGO Star Wars video games developed by Traveller's Tales, minikits are collectibles found in every level that allow players to unlock miniature builds representing assorted vehicles from throughout the Star Wars franchise,[4][5][6][2][1] with the exception of the non-canon 2011 Legends video game LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, in which they instead unlock playable characters originating from outside the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.[7] In LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the non-canon 2022 Canon video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the miniature vehicle builds can also be piloted by players in actual gameplay.[2][1]
