A female individual was the mother of the Gand Zuckuss. Before Zuckuss became a Findsman, he had to undertake the Great Rite with other hatchlings in his clan. Before he undertook the rite, Zuckuss began to have doubts about whether he should do the rite, as he was unsure if he was worthy to become one and would be forced to leave Gand and his mother, and went missing. Zuckuss was found by his mother, who informed him they had been worried and that he should be readying for the rite with other hatchlings in the clan. After Zuckuss questioned if had to go, his mother responded that he did, as it was crucial for the future of their clan. Zuckuss then voiced his concerns that he may not be worthy of becoming a Findsman, and questioned what if he was forced to leave Gand and never see his mother again, which he claimed would result in him being lost. Zuckuss' mother then began to make clicking sounds and Zuckuss asked what was happening. His mother then informed Zuckuss that it was a sacred incantation to give an individual strength find their way, but Zuckuss countered it was just was a clicking nose his mother made, and that it was just gibberish. Zuckuss' mother then comforted Zuckuss and stated that it may have been, but it was now stuck in his head, and that believing would help him focus when he was scarred. His mother then finished by telling Zuckuss to go and become the Findsman they knew he could be. Zuckuss responded that he wanted just a moment longer to sit, as the two sat and looked at the sun. Ultimately Zuckuss failed the rite, and was cast out of the clan.[1]
