The zalaaca was a species native to the planet Naboo. Its appearance partly inspired the design of Baktoid Industrial Systems' Versatile-Athletic Walker, which was nicknamed the "zalaaca walker" after the species.[1]

The zalaaca species was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Forged in Battle,[1] a 2016 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide, a 2001 book written by Terryl Whitlatch and Bob Carrau, and published by Chronicle Books.[3]
