An Askajian individual was the chief of a tribe on[1] the Outer Rim astronomical object[2] Askaji. At some point, they became the parent of the Askajian female Yarna d'al' Gargan, who was captured by enslavers and taken to be a dancer for the crime lord[1] Jabba Desilijic Tiure[3] by 3 ABY.[4]
The parent was mentioned in an artist's journal as part of an entry on the Askajian species.[5] At some point no earlier than 34 ABY,[6] the journal came into the possession of the Graf Archive—a vast depository owned by the Graf family that contained documents of historical importance.[5]
Behind the scenes
Yarna d'al' Gargan's parent was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2016 reference book Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded, written by Pablo Hidalgo.[7] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the father of Yarna d'al' Gargan was first mentioned in "Skin Deep: The Fat Dancer's Tale," a short story written by A. C. Crispin that was published in the 1996 anthology Tales from Jabba's Palace.[8]

- ↑ The flashbacks of War of the Bounty Hunters – Jabba the Hutt 1 depict Yarna d'al' Gargan as enslaved by Jabba Desilijic Tiure. As the comic's present day events are set during the events of Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 3 ABY, she must have been captured by that year.
