Yama'chen was a scenic location[2] in the Yama'chen system in the Nicandra sector of the Mid Rim Territories. It was situated in grid square L-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

In 0 ABY,[3] the human rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra created a recording for her former lover—the smuggler Sana Starros—that she intended Starros to hear after her death. In the recording, Aphra recounted a number of events in her life, including a narration of the time she had worked for the Sith Lord Darth Vader. As she narrated, Aphra questioned what "charming" destinations her new job would take her to and then stated that she had been imagining a "jaunt" through Yama'chen's clouds, which she described as breathtaking.[2]

Behind the scenes

Yama'chen was mentioned in Doctor Aphra: An Audiobook Original, a 2020 audio drama written by Sarah Kuhn.[4] The spelling of the location's name was confirmed with the release of the audio drama's script in 2021.[2]
