- "Surviving civilians on Ivera X looted the local Imperial headquarters but, rather than dividing the wealth between themselves, used it to hire a bounty hunter by the name of Xegan Miatt. She was tasked with locating senior Imperial officials who had ordered destruction of their cities and drag them back for summary justice."

Biography
- "Miatt had successfully captured two majors and a lieutenant governor—officials who were promptly executed by the Iverians—before the New Republic stepped in. There could be no charges against Miatt or the civilians though—what laws had they broken? What laws even existed anymore?"
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
Xegan Miatt was a bounty hunter who was hired by the Iverians of the small world Ivera X to track down and capture former senior officials of the Galactic Empire following the state's collapse[1] in 5 ABY.[2] During the reign of the Empire, the Imperials had ordered that Ivera X's major city be strafed by TIE/ln space superiority starfighters and TIE/sa bombers until seventy-three percent of its original structures were destroyed in response to repeated acts of vandalism on Imperial propaganda and recruitment posters. Other cities were also destroyed on their orders. Once the Empire collapsed, the officials had fled and the Iverians had stormed the Imperial headquarters on their world, using the wealth they looted to pay Miatt.[1]
After it stepped in, Xegan Miatt gave testimony to the New Republic about her work for the people of Ivera X.
Miatt successfully located and captured two Imperial majors and a lieutenant governor who had ordered the bombings and returned them to Ivera X, where the locals promptly executed them. Before Miatt could capture any further targets, the newly formed New Republic stepped in. Miatt provided testimony to the New Republic, but no charges could be brought against her or the Iverians as it was unclear what laws, if any, they had broken given the uncertainty as to what laws existed following the Empire's collapse.[1]
Miatt's testimony was stored in the "Bounty Hunters" section of the New Republic Archives and later cited by the historian Beaumont Kin when[1] he[3] discussed the bounty hunter and Ivera X in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1] in 35 ABY.[4]
Behind the scenes
Xegan Miatt was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]

As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
