Arca Jeth

Arca Jeth was an Arkanian male who was a Jedi Master and Watchman of the Onderon system. He was known to have been one of the wisest Jedi of the Old Republic era, and trained Ulic Qel-Droma, his brother Cay Qel-Droma, and the Twi'lek Tott Doneeta in the ways of the Force. He was also one of the first known Jedi to use the ability of battle meditation.

In 4050 BBY Master Jeth was part of a Jedi/Republic task force which was sent to the Hapes Cluster to eliminate the threat of the Lorell Raiders, who had been preying on Republic shipping lanes for decades. Following the defeat of the Lorell Raiders, Jeth took part in the Hyabb-Twith Campaign and helped drive the Nelori Marauders from the Hyabb-Twith Corridor. He served the Old Republic on Coruscant during the Great Droid Revolution of 4015 BBY in which he demonstrated the Force technique that allowed the Jedi to deactivate the attacking droids using the Force. He would later mediate the Beast Wars on Onderon, and help drive the dark side spirit of Freedon Nadd from the planet. After helping Onderon to obtain peace, Arca was slain at the Conclave of Deneba by a Krath War Droid.

Dace Diath

Dace Diath was a Human male and one of many Jedi Knights who trained under Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. He spent the majority of his early life on Tatooine being taught his initial training by his father, the Jedi Master Sidrona Diath. Upon completion of this training, he traveled to Ossus and became an apprentice to Master Vodo. He would eventually be one of the Jedi sent as reinforcements to help Ulic Qel-Droma during the Naddist Uprising on Onderon. He later participated in the Convocation at Mount Meru and fought against the Krath during the Great Sith War.

He was an experienced and talented pilot, and while on Onderon learned to fly one of the Beast Rider's war beasts.

Dace Diath, along with fellow Jedi Qrrrl Toq and Shoaneb Culu, was killed when Aleema Keto used Sith powers to destroy a star in the Cron Drift. He was an ancestor of Jedi Master Nico Diath and Padawan Tae Diath. (Read more…)

Oss Wilum

Oss Wilum was a Vultan male who served as a Jedi Knight during the days of the Old Republic. He was originally apprenticed to Jedi Master Garnoo, and would later train alongside Nomi Sunrider under Jedi Master Thon.

He was one of a select number of Jedi sent to aid Ulic Qel-Droma during the Naddist Revolt, and would later fight in the Great Sith War. During this conflict he was one of several Jedi tricked by the rogue Jedi Exar Kun into turning against the Jedi Order. Oss was seduced by Kun's lies that he had discovered ancient Jedi secrets that the Masters of the Order were hiding from others. Following Kun's orders, Wilum returned to Ambria and attempted to slay Master Thon by calling upon two Hssiss from a nearby lake. Thon killed the Hssiss and was able to bring Oss back from the dark side.

Although nothing is known as to how he died, he was honored in a monument on New Holstice which was devoted to fallen Jedi, where his name was eternally whispered by the wings of a memory moth. (Read more…)

Shoaneb Culu

Shoaneb Culu was a female Miraluka who served as a Jedi Knight in the days of the Old Republic. She traveled from her homeworld of Alpheridies to seek out a Jedi who could train her in the ways of the Force, planning to return one day to her homeworld and establish a Jedi academy there. She wished to bring Jedi training to the already Force-sensitive Miraluka, so that other Miraluka would not have to travel from their homeworld to learn about the Force. She eventually found her way to the Jedi library world of Ossus where she trained under the Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas—she would ultimately become a very knowledgeable student of the history of the Jedi Order. Following the completion of her training, she was selected to be one of the few Jedi who were sent as reinforcements to help Ulic Qel-Droma during the Freedon Nadd Uprising on Onderon. The Naddist Revolt helped identify Shoaneb as an aspiring and deserving Jedi, and she would later participate in the Convocation at Mount Meru, as well as fight against the Krath during the Great Sith War.

She was an experienced and talented pilot, choosing to fly a S-100 Stinger-class starfighter in most conflicts. During the Great Sith War, she flew as Jedi Three against the Krath on Cinnagar. She was also one of a handful of Jedi who learned how to fly one of the Beast Riders' war beasts shortly after The Naddist Revolt.

Nomi Sunrider

Nomi Sunrider was a Human female who served as a Jedi Master in the days of the Galactic Republic. As a young woman she married Andur Sunrider, who was training to become a Jedi Knight, and eventually Nomi gave birth to a baby girl, whom they named Vima. During a trip to the Stenness system, Andur was ambushed by gang members of Bogga the Hutt, who were after the Adegan crystals carried by Nomi and her husband. The ensuing fight witnessed the murder of Andur, and Nomi's decision to begin down the path to become a Jedi Knight. Nomi eventually completed her training under the Jedi Master Thon, and was placed in charge of the Jedi relief mission sent to Onderon to aid Ulic Qel-Droma in the Freedon Nadd Uprising. Along with several other Jedi, Nomi helped Ulic bring about the end of the Naddist Revolt, essentially putting an end to the reign of the Sith on Onderon. Following those events, Nomi was one of many Jedi to participate in the Great Sith War against the rise of Exar Kun and his apprentice, the fallen Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma. During the war, Nomi witnessed Ulic slay his own brother Cay and, guided by her intense emotions, she used her powers to completely sever Ulic from The Force. With Nomi's defeat of Ulic, the Sith War was soon brought to an end.

Following the devastation of the Great Sith War, Nomi steadily climbed the ranks of the Jedi and was eventually made Head of the Jedi Order around the time of the Conclave of Exis Station, a conclave which Nomi had assembled so the Jedi could discuss the rebuilding of the Order following the end of the war. The details surrounding Nomi's death are not known, though her legacy was preserved in the histories of the Jedi and her stories were retold down through the centuries. (Read more…)

Amanoa

Amanoa was the queen of Onderon from 4018 BBY until her death at the end of the Beast Wars between the rulers of Iziz and the Beast Riders from the planet's wilderness. Amanoa grew up as the daughter of a nobleman, and enjoyed the privileges of being part of a wealthy family of Onderon. Due to her social status, she eventually married royalty and became the wife of King Ommin and the mother of Galia.

Amanoa's reign saw drastic changes in Onderon's role in the galaxy. Together with her husband, Amanoa was beguiled by the specter of the long-dead Dark Lord Freedon Nadd, and became an apprentice of Nadd in her final years. However, when she requested help from the Jedi Order in bringing the conflict on her planet to an end, Amanoa's clandestine activities under Nadd's tutelage came to light. Jedi Master Arca Jeth and his apprentices ultimately triumphed over the Dark Lord's influence and helped to negotiate peace between the factions of the Beast Wars. The once-proud queen of Onderon joined her Sith master in death and exile in a burial temple on her home planet's moon of Dxun. (Read more…)

Kith Kark

Kith Kark was a Gotal male who served as a Jedi Knight during the days of the Old Republic. He received his training under the Jedi Master Mroon Jassa on the planet of Truuine. During his life before becoming a Jedi, Kith was unusually sensitive, even for a Gotal, to the electromagnetic emissions given off by devices; as a result, he preferred to live away from major city centers, choosing instead to live in the wilderness of Antar 4.

Despite some initial troubles with beginning his training, Kith was able to become a successful apprentice of Master Jassa's, excelling in his Jedi lessons. When Mroon Jassa was unexpectedly called away for an indefinite amount of time, Kith traveled to the Jedi library world of Ossus in order to complete his training. He was chosen as one of five Jedi to be sent to Onderon to assist Ulic Qel-Droma during the Freedon Nadd Uprising. During the fight, a dark side wave of energy ripped down Kith's defenses, allowing fire from a Naddist cannon to hit the Gotal, leaving him mortally wounded. Kith died before seeing the resolution of the Naddist Revolt. (Read more…)

Crado

Crado was a Cathar from the planet Cathar, and a Jedi apprentice of Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. He studied the Force, along with his fellow Cathar and life-mate, Sylvar, as well as the Human Exar Kun, on the world of Dantooine. After years of rivalry, Crado chose to follow his fellow student when Kun became Dark Lord of the Sith and promised to renew the Jedi Order by combining its teachings with his own Sith knowledge.

Conducting a number of missions for Exar Kun, Crado turned on the Jedi—as well as his former lover, Sylvar—in order to serve Kun, whom he admired greatly. In the end, Crado's service came to nothing, as Exar Kun sent him on a suicide mission in order to destroy a Republic and Jedi fleet. The Cathar Dark Jedi died at the Battle of Kemplex IX in an artificially-created supernova that destroyed the Cron Cluster as well as the nearby Jedi library world of Ossus. (Read more…)

Memit Nadill

Memit Nadill was a Jedi Knight who served as Empress Teta's most trusted advisor during a series of conflicts (known as the Unification Wars) that brought together the seven planets of the Koros system. In 5000 BBY, after believing the visions of fellow Jedi Odan-Urr to be precognitive, Memit Nadill traveled to Coruscant to warn the Jedi Order about an impending Sith invasion. However, Nadill was too late, and the Sith invasion force rained down upon the capital just as Nadill arrived, marking the start of the Great Hyperspace War. Nadill helped to repel the Sith Empire during the invasion of Coruscant, leading a small team of Jedi including Tuknatan, Anavus Svag and Sonam-Ha'ar during the battle.

Nadill was a regal, green-skinned humanoid, with many small tails sprouting from the back of his head. He was known to be a peaceful Jedi, and after the Unification Wars he hoped never to need his lightsaber again. However, he was skillful with his weapon when the situation required it of him; wielding a blue lightsaber, Nadill often led Teta's forces in battle. (Read more…)

Chamma

Chamma was a long-lived male of an unidentified sentient species who served as a Jedi Master during the days of the Galactic Republic. Following his elevation to the rank of Jedi Knight, Chamma was selected to be part of a team of Jedi sent to investigate the distress call of a trading ship on the planet of Athiss. Once there, Chamma and each of his comrades were individually attacked by Sith devotees who had managed to master the Sith ways and the dark side. Allowing his fear to overwhelm him, Chamma found himself cut off from the Force, and decided to resort to using his anger and the dark side to defeat his enemy. Following this confrontation, Chamma felt immense guilt and confusion by the course of events which had transpired on Athiss. As a result, he decided to go into a self-imposed exile in the deserts of H'ratth, where he could meditate on the course of events.

Over the next century, Chamma lived in relative seclusion from the other inhabitants of H'ratth, constantly meditating on his fateful mission. Eventually, a Jedi Master from the world of Ossus arrived on H'ratth and was able to speak with Chamma and return him to the light. Following his redemption, Chamma returned to Ossus and continued his Jedi training for several more decades until he was granted the title of Jedi Master. As a Master, Chamma left Ossus to return to H'ratth where he intended to establish a Jedi academy to train future generations of Jedi Knights. (Read more…)

Ooroo

Ooroo was a Celegian Jedi Master who acted as an instructor to Jedi students on the planet Ossus for a long time before the Great Hyperspace War in 5000 BBY. Ooroo's species breathed a gas, deadly to most life-forms, known as cyanogen, whereas oxygen was deadly to them. This caused the Jedi Master to depend on a crystalline life support chamber for survival on oxygen-rich worlds. Ooroo trained many students during his time as a Jedi instructor, but the Draethos Jedi Knight Odan-Urr was by far the most well known. 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, Ooroo sent Odan-Urr to help restore peace to the Koros system, which was ravaged by a series of Unification Wars aimed at uniting the seven planets of the system.

During their separation, Ooroo and his apprentice were plagued by visions of long-forgotten Dark Jedi, as well as the pain and suffering the darksiders would bring the Republic. The Celegian Jedi traveled to Koros to meet with his student. Ooroo was on the planet when the Sith Empire launched their attack on the Republic. He and Odan-Urr led the forces of Teta, the Empress of the system, on Kirrek. Teta's men were overrun with Massassi warriors, so the ancient Master sacrificed himself to defeat the Sith warriors, shattering his cyanogen tank and sending the fumes into the Massassi's lungs, killing many of them instantly. He was later known as the Martyr of Kirrek for this selfless act. (Read more…)

Andur Sunrider

Andur Sunrider was a Human male who served as a Jedi trainee during the days of the Galactic Republic. During his childhood he demonstrated a natural interest in the history of the Jedi Order, and enjoyed hearing stories from his grandfather, the Jedi Master Jev Sunrider. Following the death of his grandfather, Andur intensified his dedication to studying everything he could regarding the Jedi. During this time he married a young woman by the name of Nomi and bought a ship which he renamed the Lightside Explorer.

Eventually, his dedication to his studies caught the attention of Jedi Master Chamma, who invited Andur to train as his apprentice on the planet of H'ratth. He studied under Master Chamma for two years and excelled at his training, learning everything that Chamma could teach him. During his time on H'ratth, he and Nomi gave birth to a young daughter whom they named Vima. Once Chamma realized that Andur required further training from a more experienced master, Chamma advised him that he would finish his training under the guidance of Master Thon on Ambria. During Andur's trip to Thon he was murdered by criminals who were after the Adegan crystals he was carrying.

Many years after his death, Andur's memory lived on through his daughter Vima who constructed an enormous ice sculpture of her father during her Jedi training on Rhen Var. (Read more…)

Simus

Simus was a Sith Lord who lived during the time of the first Sith Empire, and, around 5100 BBY, dueled fellow Sith Lord Marka Ragnos for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith and control of the Sith Empire. Ragnos defeated Simus, who was beheaded in the battle with the other aspiring Dark Lord; however, the Sith Lord did not give up his life. Rather than letting himself die, he used his forgotten Sith powers to preserve his life. Very little of him was left, though—he lived as a severed head in a crystalline container for the rest of his days. Eventually the bodyless Simus was made a part of the Sith Council, becoming a respected member whose opinion was highly valued by the other councilors.

He lived for over a hundred years, and watched as Marka Ragnos grew in power, pitting his adversaries against each other and ensuring that there were no threats to Ragnos's throne. Simus was one of few to survive, and in the process trained Naga Sadow in the ways of the Sith. Sadow eventually became extremely powerful, and after the death of Marka Ragnos, he was one of two challengers for the throne. The other, Ludo Kressh, wished to keep the Empire hidden from the Galactic Republic, while Sadow wished to expand the Empire's borders. Though the Council was split on the matter, Simus supported his old friend Sadow, and backed his candidacy for the role of Dark Lord of the Sith. Simus was eventually killed by his apprentice, with a Republic-issue blaster, in an attempt to provide the Sith council with a reason to go to war by framing the Republic for his assassination. Sylvar

Sylvar was a Cathar Jedi Knight from the planet Cathar. The mate of Crado, she trained in the Jedi arts under the Krevaaki Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas on Dantooine, along with Crado and the Human known as Exar Kun. When Kun left Master Vodo's tutelage to become a Dark Lord of the Sith, Sylvar found herself swept up in the events of the Great Sith War. She fought for the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic alongside such notables as Nomi Sunrider and Master Thon of Ambria. In the course of the war, Sylvar saw much action on Coruscant, Ambria, and the library world of Ossus, where she had a chance to confront Exar Kun himself for his crimes. However, the war also had terrible repercussions, her master was mercilessly slain by Kun after a duel on Coruscant and her mate Crado turned traitor and was ultimately killed by his Sith masters. When the Republic eventually won the war and Exar Kun was defeated, Sylvar found that she had lost everything that she held dear, including the future life she thought she would live.

Later in life, Sylvar made it her personal mission to see to it that Ulic Qel-Droma, the last surviving member of the Sith regime, answer for his crimes. In a brush with the dark side, in which she could not put aside her bitterness for the events of the war, Sylvar attempted to evade her desire by traveling to Ryloth and then to Cathar on missions, to no avail. Only when she faced Qel-Droma, and he refused to fight back did, she finally understand her error and return to the light. Ulic Qel-Droma's death, by hands other than Sylvar's, was instrumental in her redemption. (Read more…)

Odan-Urr

Odan-Urr was a long-lived Draethos male, who served as a Jedi Master and Jedi Librarian during the height of the Galactic Republic. He preferred reading and studying to combat, though he was a master of the little known Jedi art of battle meditation. He was trained by the Celegian Jedi Master Ooroo.

Odan-Urr was a Jedi Padawan in 5000 BBY, and during his time as the Watchman of Koros, he had a series of visions depicting the impended Sith invasion. He and his Jedi companion, Memit Nadill, attempted to warn the Senate of the Sith attack, but the Senate refused to listen. However, Odan-Urr had the backing of the armies of Empress Teta, and participated in the Battle of Kirrek, where Naga Sadow's Sith Empire attempted to crush the Republic. The Republic emerged victorious, though only at the expense of the life of Master Ooroo. In the aftermath of the war, Odan-Urr found an ancient Sith holocron—the only one known to have existed at the time—which he kept safely at all times. Shortly thereafter, he founded the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, where he became the Keeper of the Chamber of Antiquities for several centuries. He also studied the Jedi Code during his time as a Jedi Master, creating a revised version which lasted for thousands of years after his death, until the Great Jedi Purge in 19 BBY. He was widely regarded as one of the most influential members of the Jedi Order for this work.

Odan-Urr presided over the Conclave on Deneba in 3996 BBY, where the dark siders known as the Krath attempted to slaughter the Jedi. Odan-Urr was one of the survivors, however, the attack was one of several in the leadup to the Great Sith War—a galaxy-wide conflict which took the lives of hundreds of Jedi. During the war, Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun learned of Odan-Urr's Sith holocron, and went to the old Master's Great Library to claim it. Odan-Urr attempted to stop him, but the young dark sider lashed out at the Draethos with the Force, killing him. The truth about his death was only known by Kun, who lied to the other Jedi, telling them Odan-Urr had made him a Jedi Master before passing away. Thon

Thon was a secretive and often reclusive male Tchuukthai Jedi Master who lived in the period surrounding the events of the Great Sith War. He kept the details concerning his race, homeworld, and origins a closely guarded secret, and possessed extensive knowledge of the Force even in as-yet-unknown techniques. Soon after first visiting the Jedi library world of Ossus, Thon became a Jedi Master, and went in search of a planet where he could live and study in solitude and peace. The Force guided him to Ambria, a planet in the Stenness Node that was plagued by the dark side. After containing the Sith influence to a single spot, Thon settled down and began to take Jedi apprentices, among them Oss Wilum and the future head of the Jedi Order, Nomi Sunrider.

Splitting his time between life on Ambria and communion with the other Jedi Masters on Ossus, Thon often took an advisory role, yet found himself immersed in such events as the Battle of Deneba during the Krath Holy Crusade. Due to his high-profile pupils and his high esteem within the Order, Thon became directly involved in the Great Sith War. Escaping a plot by Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun to have the Jedi Masters murdered by their former wards, Thon left Ambria and took a more active role in the conflict. He assisted in the evacuation of Ossus before the planet was devastated by a supernova unleashed by the Sith, and was present at Yavin 4 when Exar Kun made his final stand and was defeated, ending the war. Thon was one of the few Jedi Masters to survive the conflict. A decade after the events of the war, Thon attended the Conclave on Exis Station, where his former apprentice, Nomi Sunrider, discussed the future of the Jedi Order. (Read more…)

Warb Null

Warb Null was a dark side apprentice and King Ommin's armored commander of the Naddist forces during the First Battle of Onderon in the Freedon Nadd Uprising. Originally named Shas Dovos, Null was formerly an aspiring young student of metalwork, though when a sinister Sith spirit tricked him into constructing a tainted suit of armor, he became a mindless servant of the dark side. The spirit resided in the very pages of an ancient Sith book discovered by Dovos in the wilds of his native planet Onderon, and eventually it fused Dovos to the dark armor and renamed him Warb Null.

Null became the leader of the Naddists who raided the city of Iziz during the Freedon Nadd Uprising. They defeated the Onderonian forces, as well as a team of Jedi sent by the Galactic Republic, and successfully recaptured the sarcophagi of Ommin's late wife Amanoa, and the former Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd. Later, Warb Null helped free Ommin from his life-support facility; however, that time the young Jedi Knights he had previously defeated were too strong, as Ulic Qel-Droma engaged the Sith warrior in a duel and decapitated him. Null's death was, in the end, insignificant to Ommin, who felt the armor-clad soldier had fulfilled his purpose. (Read more…)

Great Sith War

The Great Sith War, also known as the Sith War, the First Sith War, and the Exar Kun War, was a conflict which took place between the years 4000 BBY and 3996 BBY. One of the largest engagements of the Old Sith Wars, the Great Sith War saw the rise of the Sith, once again in opposition to the Jedi Order. The roots of the conflict are traced back to the fall of Freedon Nadd from the Jedi way and his ascension to Dark Lord of the Sith. Eventually his dark influence was discovered on the planet Onderon and the ensuing battle saw the Jedi temporarily break Nadd's hold on the remote planet. This fight against the resurgent power of the Sith was a warning to the Jedi that something ominous was brewing.

The influence of the Sith, however, again resurfaced during the Freedon Nadd Uprising, which managed to establish the means for the Krath to grow in power and influence. Using Sith knowledge that they had gained from Nadd and his followers on Onderon, the Krath instituted a bloody coup in the Empress Teta system and began a series of campaigns aimed at Republic space. After several defeats at the hands of the Krath, Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma advised the Jedi Order that he would infiltrate the Krath and destroy them from within. During his undercover mission, Ulic fell to the dark side and joined forces with another fallen Jedi-turned-Sith by the name of Exar Kun. Eventually, Kun was anointed the new Dark Lord of the Sith with Qel-Droma his apprentice, and together they ushered the galaxy into a new Sith age.

With their allies, Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma launched a series of deadly campaigns against the Republic, eventually making their way to the heart of the galaxy—Coruscant. Following this battle Kun and Qel-Droma launched an assault on Ossus, in an attempt to raid the planet of its Jedi artifacts. However, the battle of Ossus saw the defeat of the Sith forces, the capture of Ulic Qel-Droma, and the retreat of Kun to his base on Yavin 4. Broken and humbled, Qel-Droma agreed to lead the combined forces of the Republic and the Jedi to Yavin 4, in an effort to defeat Exar Kun. Under the combined efforts of the Jedi, Kun was defeated and the Great Sith War brought to an end. (Read more…)

Finhead Stonebone

Finhead Stonebone was a pirate who operated out of the Stenness system during the height of the Galactic Republic around 3999 BBY. "Stonebone" was nothing more than one of several aliases used by the pirate, who preferred his true name, origins, and species to remain a mystery. He arrived in known space without a word of Basic at his disposal, though he soon became a pirate in the Vorc Sector. After several years working as a criminal, Finhead had enough money to run his own ship; he stole an asteroid mining vehicle, which he named the Marauder Starjacker.

However, a feud with his former employer meant that Finhead had to leave the sector, taking up residence in the Stenness system, located in the Mid Rim. There he made a deal with Bogga the Hutt, though the Hutt crimelord soon double-crossed Stonebone and put an order out for the pirate's capture. Finhead managed to elude the Hutt's enforcers for a time, though he and his crew were eventually brought before Bogga in his fortress on Vo Dasha. Rather than having the rogue pirate executed, Bogga tasked Stonebone and his band of men with traveling to the planet Ambria, killing Tchuukthai Jedi Master Thon, and stealing his valuable Adegan crystals. The insectoid marauder and his crew were ultimately unsuccessful; they were chased off the planet by Thon and his young apprentice, Nomi Sunrider. Finhead returned to Bogga empty-handed, ready to face the Hutt's wrath. (Read more…)

Ood Bnar

Ood Bnar was a Neti Jedi Master who lived for over five thousand years, from before the Great Hyperspace War in 5000 BBY until 10 ABY. Bnar was born on the planet Ryyk, but found himself stranded on Myrkr during his youth. He eventually joined the Jedi Order, and over time became one of the most respected and revered Masters of the era. Bnar specialized in the history of the Sith, and preferred to avoid combat where possible, though he often advised more martial Jedi on how best to fight the dark side. Eventually, he had such knowledge of Jedi and Sith lore that he recorded a holocron, which was passed down through the generations for centuries.

Ood eventually became the understudy of Head Librarian Odan-Urr at the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, and after his friend's death at the hands of Exar Kun during the Great Sith War in 4000 BBY, Ood took over his role as Head Librarian. However, his reign would not last long. He was among the Jedi who discovered that they would have little time to evacuate before Ossus was destroyed by a Sith-created supernova in the nearby Cron Cluster. While the other Jedi hurried to save as much as they could, Ood went to his bundle of ancient lightsabers, hoping they would survive the shockwave heading for the planet. However, he was interrupted by Exar Kun, who had come to Ossus to scavenge any artifacts left behind. Knowing he could not defeat the Dark Lord of the Sith, Ood transformed into a giant and immovable tree, barring Kun from the trove of sabers.

Ood survived the devastation of Ossus, and entered a millennia-long slumber. He was awakened in 10 ABY to find Luke Skywalker and Kam Solusar facing off against a Dark Side Elite named Sedriss QL, who had taken a native girl hostage. Ood freed the girl and gripped Sedriss tightly with his roots. The darksider attempted to use the dark energies contained in Ossus's skies against Bnar, but the Neti fought back, counteracting Sedriss's attack by using the powers rooted deep in the Ossus ground. He eventually sacrificed himself to stop Sedriss and save the two Jedi and the native. (Read more…)

Qrrrl Toq

Qrrrl Toq, known as Crown Prince Qrrrl Toq in his youth, was a male Nazzar who served as a Jedi Knight in the days of the Old Republic. Upon the discovery of his family's roots, and their colored past, Qrrrl traveled from his homeworld of Nazzri in search of wisdom and knowledge. He eventually came across a group of Jedi who advised him that he was strong in the Force. He traveled with them back to the library world of Ossus, where he became the apprentice of the Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas.

Following the rapid progression of his training under Master Baas, Qrrrl Toq traveled with several other Jedi Knights, led by Nomi Sunrider, to the planet of Onderon to act as reinforcements for Ulic Qel-Droma in helping end the Naddist Revolt. The Freedon Nadd Uprising helped identify Qrrrl Toq as ambitious and strong Jedi. Following these events, he would attend the great convocation on Mount Meru called in response to the rising threat of the Krath forces. He would later fight against the combined armies of Sith Lords Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma, and would fight his final battle at Kemplex IX. Qrrrl Toq, along with fellow Jedi Knights Shoaneb Culu and Dace Diath, was killed during the Battle of Kemplex IX when the Krath commander, Aleema Keto, used Sith powers to destroy a star in the Cron Drift. Conclave on Exis Station

The Conclave on Exis Station was held by the members of the Jedi Order in 3986 BBY on Exis Station, an ion mining station in the Teedio system. The convocation was the first major meeting of the Jedi since the Conclave on Deneba held during the Krath Holy Crusade of ten years earlier. Following the events of the Great Sith War, in which the Galactic Republic had fallen into turmoil and a large number of the Jedi were killed—including a majority of the Order's most influential Masters—the galaxy had experienced marked recovery, but the Jedi sought direction. Nomi Sunrider, the head of the Jedi at the time, called as many of her comrades as could attend to Exis Station, where a meeting would be held discussing the future of the Order.

Sunrider held forth before the Jedi, speaking of the great cost of the war, the period of healing the galaxy had gone through, and the future of the Jedi Knights. The conclave was interrupted, however, when Vima Sunrider, Nomi's daughter, stole an ion mining vessel and was very nearly killed. Following her rescue by Tott Doneeta, the meeting continued. Sylvar spoke next, condemning the fallen Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma for his actions in the war, and calling the Jedi to seek justice against him. Following the Conclave on Exis Station, the Jedi experienced a period of relative peace; the convocation would be remembered thousands of years later as a pivotal point in Jedi history. (Read more…)

A-3DO

A-3DO, known colloquially as ThreeDee, was a Duwani Mechanical Products 3DO protocol/service droid, specializing in the maintenance of starships as well as performing myriad domestic functions. After being purchased by Jedi trainee Andur Sunrider, ThreeDee traveled with Sunrider, his wife Nomi, and their their daughter Vima, serving them and maintaining Andur's starship, the Lightside Explorer. The droid saw many mishaps on his adventures with the Sunriders, from being held hostage—in an event that saw the death of his owner, Andur—to having his arm blown off by mercenaries in the employ of Bogga the Hutt. After Andur's death, ThreeDee accompanied Nomi to the planet Ambria, where she trained in the ways of the Force under the Jedi Master Thon and repelled several more attacks by the Hutt's minions. Battle of Koros Major

The First Battle of Empress Teta, also known as the Battle of Koros Major, was one of the first direct major Republic military offensives against the Krath during the Great Sith War. The last of the seven worlds of the Empress Teta system to resist the military coup instigated by Aleema and Satal Keto, Koros Major held off the aggressive actions of the Krath long enough for a combined Republic and Jedi task force to come to its aid. Nevertheless, even with the intervention of Jedi and Republic forces, the Krath were able to drive the joint task force from the system and lay siege to Koros Major. With the Republic and Jedi forced to retreat, Koros Major soon fell to the combined strength of the Krath armies. The First Battle of Empress Teta was often seen as one of several events that precipitated the Krath Holy Crusade, which was a part of the larger war against the rise of the Sith. (Read more…)

Mission to Empress Teta

The Mission to Empress Teta was a Jedi operation conducted in the year 3997 BBY, several months after the Battle of Deneba. Following the death of Jedi Master Arca Jeth at that battle, Ulic Qel-Droma chose to go ahead with his proposed plan to infiltrate the Krath and bring them down from within. After several months without receiving any word from the undercover Ulic, Nomi Sunrider, Cay Qel-Droma, and Tott Doneeta organized themselves into a strike force and set out from Ossus for the undercover Jedi's last reported location—Empress Teta, the capital of the Krath regime. The three Jedi were eventually able to locate the undercover Qel-Droma, and what followed was a short, but violent, clash between Ulic Qel-Droma and Satal Keto, who had discovered the spy in the Krath's midst. Following the end of the duel, which witnessed the death of Keto, Ulic attacked his friends who wished him to return with them to Ossus. Believing that he could still destroy the Krath, and ultimately the Sith, from within, Ulic Qel-Droma continued to walk down the dark path that was laid out before him. (Read more…)

Second Battle of Empress Teta

The Second Battle of Empress Teta was a brief conflict that occurred during the Great Sith War. The battle took place almost immediately after another mission in which the Jedi Knights Nomi Sunrider, Cay Qel-Droma, and Tott Doneeta attempted to make contact with the undercover Ulic Qel-Droma, who they believed was posing as a Krath sympathizer. Following this attempt to contact Ulic, during which the Jedi realized that he was dangerously close to falling to the dark side, Sunrider organized a second effort aimed at extracting Ulic, if possible, from the Krath capital.

With the Beast Riders of Oron Kira, the Jedi led an attack on the Krath palace where Qel-Droma was staying. Even though the attack was successful at penetrating the Krath defenses, Qel-Droma refused to return to Ossus with Sunrider and the other Jedi, choosing instead to stay with Aleema Keto and the Krath. Following the Jedi retreat from Cinnagar, Exar Kun arrived at the Krath palace to confront those whom he viewed as a threat to his Sith rule. Following a brief confrontation, the two ex-Jedi decided to join forces, and together, wage war on the galaxy. (Read more…)

Battle of Kemplex IX

The Battle of Kemplex IX was an engagement between Jedi and Sith forces that took place during the Great Sith War. Fought in the year 3996 BBY, the battle proved to be one of the major turning-points of that conflict. The Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma originally conceived of a plan to attack the Republic base at Kemplex IX as a feint, in order to draw forces away in preparation for the upcoming attack on Coruscant. Following the capture of Qel-Droma during that battle, Aleema Keto again proposed the idea to attack Kemplex IX and capture the jump-station there. Events, however, conspired against Keto and her plans for herself and Mandalore the Indomitable to attack the space station; Qel-Droma was rescued from Coruscant by the Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun and Mandalore. Following his rescue, Qel-Droma decided that Keto and Crado would lead an attack on Kemplex IX in preparation for an attack on Ossus. Through the use of Sith magic, Keto unwittingly set off a chain reaction of explosions in the Cron Cluster, which destroyed all forces present, both Sith and Jedi. The resulting supernova also sent out a massive wave of destruction from its source, which eventually devastated the Jedi planet of Ossus. (Read more…)

Battle of Deneba

The Battle of Deneba took place in the year 3997 BBY during the Great Sith War, and was one of the earliest known Krath offensives to occur during that conflict. From his main base in the city of Cinnagar, the Krath leader Satal Keto remotely launched a large army of war droids against the Jedi assembly, which had gathered on the planet Deneba in order to discuss the rising threat of the Krath in the Empress Teta system. The Krath war droids initially caught the convocation unprepared, but the Jedi were able to mount an organized defense and stop the war droids' advance. During the battle, Jedi Master Arca Jeth, who was famous for his role in ending the Great Droid Revolution, Beast Wars, and Freedon Nadd Uprising, was slain while protecting his onetime student, the Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma. Battle of Coruscant (Great Sith War)

The First Battle of Coruscant occurred in the year 3996 BBY during the Great Sith War, and witnessed the Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma and his forces invade the Republic capital of Coruscant. Following the Sith victory at the Battle of Foerost, Qel-Droma was able to add three hundred captured Republic warships to his already expansive Krath and Mandalorian fleets. With his forces bolstered, Qel-Droma believed that he now possessed the power to topple the central seat of government for the Republic, and therefore advised Exar Kun that he intended to attack Coruscant.

Qel-Droma, Aleema Keto, and Mandalore the Indomitable launched the invasion of Coruscant, and managed to catch the Republic and Jedi forces unprepared. Nonetheless, the Coruscanti forces were soon rallied by the Jedi and were able to halt the ground forces of Qel-Droma. Keto, however, used the invasion to further her own plans for power, and ordered the Mandalorian and Krath forces to retreat, claiming that Qel-Droma had been killed during the fighting. Abandoned by his warlords and soldiers, Qel-Droma was soon captured by the Jedi and handed over to the Republic to be tried for his crimes. (Read more…)

Aleema Keto

Aleema Keto was the daughter of Lady Magda Keto and niece of the elder Lord Keto, as well as the cousin of Satal Keto. As she progressed down the path of the dark side of the Force, Aleema became a Sith sorceress, gaining proficiency in the arts of Sith magic. She and Satal also co-founded the Krath, a secret dark side society, and together they succeeded in overthrowing the Tetan Monarchy just prior to the Great Sith War.

As co-rulers of the Empress Teta system, Aleema and her cousin instigated the conflict known as the Krath Holy Crusade, the opening battle of which exposed to the Jedi the Sith powers harnessed by the Keto children at work in Tetan space. The Krath then launched a bold ambush against the Jedi during their convocation on the planet Deneba, which resulted in the death of Jedi Master Arca Jeth. In response, Jeth's apprentice, the Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma, infiltrated the Krath in an attempt to destroy them from within. Aleema immediately realized his intentions and took him as her lover while offering him a position within the Krath organization. She then masterminded the death of her cousin Satal at Qel-Droma's hands, at which time the fallen Jedi assumed Satal's position as leader of the Krath. Together with Qel-Droma, Aleema joined forces with Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun and held position as his senior ally in Kun's Brotherhood of the Sith. Aleema and the Sith Brotherhood continued their war against the Jedi, though during an assault on Coruscant, she betrayed her lover Qel-Droma to the Jedi. She was later killed by her own actions when she used her Sith powers to cause a massive supernova in the Cron Cluster during the Battle of Kemplex IX, having been tricked into the affair by both Kun and Qel-Droma. Ommin

Ommin was a Sith sorcerer and also a direct descendant of the ancient Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd. After his father's death, he became the King of Onderon, as well as the Sith apprentice of Nadd. Early during his reign as King, he married the noblewoman Amanoa, and eventually the couple birthed a daughter named Galia, whom they intended to also be trained in the ways of the Sith.

As a youth, Ommin was instructed in the ancient Sith teachings by his father, the previous King of Onderon. When he himself became King after his father's death, Ommin's studies were continued and accelerated by the spirit of Freedon Nadd. When his relentless studies into the dark side began to have adverse effects on his physical body, Ommin curtailed them, retired from Onderonian politics and faded from visibility, leaving the rule of the planet in the hands of his wife.

The general populace of Onderon believed Ommin to be dead, and rumors of him actually being alive were unfounded until the death of Amanoa in 4000 BBY at the hands of the Jedi. Ommin then returned to the forefront of Onderonian events, having survived through use of a special life-support system and in command of a Naddist army. Supported by the power of Freedon Nadd, the army waged war on the invading forces of the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic. In 3998 BBY, Jedi Master Arca Jeth and his apprentices defeated Ommin and ultimately triumphed over Nadd's influence, finally bringing peace to the war-torn planet. The sorcerer-King of Onderon joined both his wife and Sith Master in death, with all three being interred in a mausoleum on his home planet's fourth moon of Dxun. (Read more…)

Second Battle of Onderon

The Second Battle of Onderon took place during the Freedon Nadd Uprising, being the second battle of that specific conflict, in the year 3998 BBY. The Republic Military offensive was proposed by the Tchuukthai Jedi Master Thon, who, with his apprentice Nomi Sunrider, attended the Galactic Senate's Ministry of Defense hearing called to discuss the growing dark side threat on Onderon. The meeting resulted with Sunrider being chosen to lead the Republic fleet in battle against the worshipers of Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd, who were united under the banner of Onderon's ruler, the Sith sorcerer King Ommin.

Arriving in Onderonian space under escort of the full Republic Navy, Nomi Sunrider and a team of four other Jedi Knights engaged Ommin and his Naddist army. The battle commenced just as Tetan aristocrats Satal and Aleema Keto arrived on Onderon with the intentions of deciphering an ancient Sith spellbook. Caught in the midst of battle, the Ketos were shot down and crashed into Iziz, where, after searching for a time, were led to Ommin, who introduced them to Sith lore. Before he could begin their initiation into Sith teachings, they were ambushed by the Jedi Knights. The Jedi ultimately triumphed over the King, rescuing the imprisoned Jedi Master Arca Jeth, defeating Ommin's army, and freeing Onderon of Nadd's dark influence. The Ketos also escaped Onderon, and, armed with their Sith artifacts, became the new Sith apprentices of Nadd. (Read more…)

Battle of Khar Delba

The Battle of Khar Delba took place in the year 5000 BBY, and served to consolidate the Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow's power before he brought the Sith Empire into the Great Hyperspace War against the Galactic Republic. Following the death of Dark Lord Marka Ragnos, control of the Sith Empire was in contention between prominent Sith Lords Naga Sadow and Ludo Kressh. The arrival in Sith-controlled space of two explorers from the Republic, Gav and Jori Daragon, caused the two factions a great deal of alarm, leading to an inevitable conflict between Kressh and Sadow. Kressh, who believed that the Daragons' arrival signaled an impending invasion by Republic forces, advised caution, while Sadow saw an opportunity to expand the Sith Empire's boundaries.

Sadow managed to play upon the paranoia of the other Sith Lords, to the effect that he was named the new Dark Lord of the Sith in order to deal with this perceived threat. Although most of the Sith Council backed Sadow, Kressh and his followers, Horak-mul and Dor Gal-ram, refused to accept Sadow's legitimacy. When Kressh's fleet attacked Sadow's citadel on Khar Delba, the new Dark Lord was prepared, having amassed a secret fleet that he hid at his true headquarters on Khar Delba's moon, Khar Shian. The opposition fleet was caught off-guard and defeated, while Sadow allowed Jori Daragon to escape back to the Republic—carrying a locator beacon that would allow Sadow to lead a Sith invasion there in what would become the Great Hyperspace War. Skirmish on Ambria

The Skirmish on Ambria was a minor battle that took place in the year 3999 BBY. Under the direct orders of Great Bogga the Hutt, a gang of pirates and thugs was dispatched to the planet Ambria to retrieve both the Tchuukthai Jedi Master Thon and the precious Adegan crystals in his possession.

The battle saw the total defeat of Bogga's henchmen. It was also the second conflict in which Thon's apprentice Nomi Sunrider wielded a lightsaber and displayed her natural ability with the Jedi power of battle meditation. As a result of Sunrider's actions, Thon deemed her ready to assume her new identity, and declared her Jedi: Knight of the Galactic Republic. (Read more…)

Political uprising of the Empress Teta system

The political uprising of the Empress Teta system was a military and political coup that happened in the year 3997 BBY, staged against Lord Keto and Lady Magda Keto, the rulers of Empress Teta. The coup was instigated by Lord Keto's own son, Satal, and Lady Keto's daughter, Aleema, who, as cousins, were also the leaders of a newly established Sith cult known as the Krath. The coup was initiated when Aleema and Satal, accompanied by the royal tutor Korus, boarded the orbital Tetan carbonite smelter where Lord and Lady Keto were attending matters of state. After a heated confrontation with Lord Keto and the subsequent humiliation of tutor Korus, Aleema and Satal reintroduced themselves as the Krath—dark side magicians under the tutelage of the ancient Dark Lord Freedon Nadd. The Krath then declared themselves the new rulers of the Empress Teta system and proceeded to execute the present Tetan officials, including Lady Keto. Lord Keto himself was slowly dipped into the vat of molten carbonite by Satal, to further symbolize the end of the old regime. What emerged was a freshly-molded carbonite frieze of Lord Keto, which Satal visibly displayed on one of the walls of their newly inherited palace, the Iron Citadel.

After solidifying the military and political might of the seven worlds of the Empress Teta system, the Krath were prepared to face the Jedi Order, who themselves recognized the Krath's Sith powers to be the remnants of an uprising that was recently quelled on the planet Onderon. Their chance came when the Jedi, again supported by the Galactic Republic, arrived in Tetan space with intentions of restoring a legitimate government. The Jedi were unprepared for the depth of the Krath's Sith powers; they were repelled and forced to leave the Tetan worlds under the heel of the dark side. (Read more…)

Cay Qel-Droma

Cay Qel-Droma was a Human male who served as a Jedi Knight during the events of the Great Sith War. Born to a family with Jedi heritage on Alderaan, Qel-Droma and his older brother, fellow Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma, were instructed by Master Arca Jeth at his training compound on Arkania. Qel-Droma's first mission came in 4000 BBY, when, along with his brother and fellow trainee Tott Doneeta, he was sent to Onderon to put down an uprising of the Beast Riders from the planet's wilderness against the walled city of Iziz. The Jedi succeeded, but Qel-Droma's career on the fields of battle had just begun.

He helped quell the Naddist Uprising started by a dark side cult on Onderon, and later fought in the Great Sith War, a galaxy-spanning conflict that started when the dark side organization known as the Krath took control of the Empress Teta system. During the war, Ulic turned to the dark side, becoming a Sith, and second-in-command under Dark Lord Exar Kun. Though Kun attempted to lure Qel-Droma to the dark side as well, he could not be tempted, and remained a Jedi, a proud defender of the Galactic Republic. Qel-Droma fought opposite his brother in battles such as the Battle of Coruscant. In 3996 BBY Qel-Droma finally came face-to-face with Ulic, dueling him on Ossus. Ulic killed his brother, though he regretted the act enough to abandon the dark side. Filled with guilt, Ulic lived the rest of his life a broken man. (Read more…)

Adas

Adas was King of Korriban and the Sith in a reign that lasted nearly three hundred years. He was large for his species, his skin was unusually charcoal-colored, and he was raised as a chosen being from his youth. Encasing himself in ebon armor, he wielded a massive battle-ax, and became a master of Sith magic. Circa 28,000 BBY, Adas united the disparate nations of Korriban in a series of bloody conflicts, eventually solidifying himself as the sole leader of his people.

The Sith hailed Adas as the Sith'ari, or "Overlord." The commonly held belief was that he was invincible, and that his reign would be eternal. Circa 27,700 BBY, Rakatans from the Infinite Empire arrived on Korriban, and taught Adas how to harness the technology of holocrons. Adas created one of these devices, but soon realized that the new arrivals were attempting to conquer Korriban. He took his battle-ax to the aliens, and with his people at his side, drove them off. In doing so, he lost his life.

Adas's influence, however, would continue for many years following his death. His holocron, lost on Ashas Ree during the Great Hyperspace War, would later be found by fallen Jedi Knight Freedon Nadd, who used Adas's teachings to subjugate and rule Onderon. When that planet cast off the yoke of Sith oppression in 4000 BBY, the Jedi attempted to hide the holocron, so that it would not fall into the wrong hands. For nearly four thousand years it remained safely hidden on Kodai, but was retrieved in the years prior to the Clone Wars. Murder was committed several times in attempts to gain control of the holocron, and it was eventually returned to Korriban while in the possession of Dark Lady of the Sith Lumiya. (Read more…)

First Battle of Onderon (Naddist Uprising)

The First Battle of Onderon took place during the Freedon Nadd Uprising, in the year 3998 BBY, and pitted the combined forces of the Jedi Order and the Beast Riders of Onderon against the dark side-empowered army commanded by King Ommin of Iziz. Being the first battle of that conflict, it commenced during the funeral procession of Ommin's wife, the Sith sorceress Queen Amanoa, as a group of Jedi Knights led by Jedi Master Arca Jeth prepared to transport both Amanoa's sarcophagus and that of the ancient Dark Lord Freedon Nadd to a newly constructed mausoleum on the far side of Onderon's jungle moon, Dxun.

During Amanoa's procession, a massive groundborer emerged from underground, revealing an army of darksiders led by the Dark Jedi Warb Null. The army managed to retake the coffins and retreated with them on their war machine into the subterranean levels of the city of Iziz, where it was suspected that Amanoa's husband, the sorcerer King Ommin, resided. Arca Jeth, Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma, and Amanoa's daughter, Galia, followed the borer into the tunnels and discovered that Ommin, who had been previously thought to be dead by the general populace of Onderon, was indeed alive, and in league with the spirit of Freedon Nadd.

Under orders from Nadd, Jeth was captured and taken deeper into the tunnels after a brief confrontation with Ommin and his Sith master. As Qel-Droma and Galia attempted to escape, Warb Null confronted them, but was swiftly defeated by the Jedi Knight. They then returned to the surface, where Qel-Droma, realizing that reinforcements were necessary, sent a distress message to the Galactic Republic, beseeching their aid. (Read more…)

Teta

Teta was the Empress of the Koros system in 5000 BBY, the instigator of the Unification Wars of Koros, and a key military commander in the Great Hyperspace War. Born into nobility on the wealthy planet of Koros Major, Teta eventually inherited the Koros empire; she quickly became known as the "Warrior Empress," after leading her army into battle and personally foiling many assassination attempts. Over 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, Teta began the Unification Wars—an attempt to end the lawless poverty of the system's other worlds and bring them under her rule—with her Jedi advisor, Memit Nadill, at her side. Teta commanded her forces to victory, conquering the rebels on the other planets; she was helped by Nadill and Jedi apprentice Odan-Urr, who used battle meditation to prevent a bloodbath at the Battle of Kirrek.

Shortly after uniting the system, Teta was one of few to heed Odan-Urr's warnings about an impending invasion of the Galactic Republic from the Sith Empire, but her attempts to warn the Galactic Senate ended in failure. When the Sith launched their attack, Koros was one of the first planets to see combat; Teta's forces were successful in driving back the Sith fleet, and, alongside a Republic task force, she pursued the fleet to Primus Goluud, where Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow had ordered the remnants of his fleet to converge. Sadow managed to escape back to the Sith throneworld of Korriban, but again Teta's fleet followed, and crippled his forces at the Battle of Korriban. With the war ended, Teta returned home to allow her soldiers to recuperate; her reign lasted over 175 years in total, and for her benevolent leadership, the system was renamed in her honor. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, abbreviated as TotJ, is a comic book series covering eight story arcs, all published by Dark Horse Comics. The first story arc, entitled Ulic Qel-Droma and the Beast Wars of Onderon, was written by veteran Star Wars author Tom Veitch, and was part of the first series of comics, which eventually became known as Knights of the Old Republic. Veitch went on to write the next two story arcs, The Saga of Nomi Sunrider and The Freedon Nadd Uprising, and co-authored the fourth story arc, Dark Lords of the Sith, with fellow author Kevin J. Anderson. With the successful completion of Dark Lords of the Sith, Anderson continued the TotJ series as the sole storyline writer, with Veitch opting not to continue writing for the series. Anderson went on to write the final two story arcs, involving the main protagonist Ulic Qel-Droma, completing The Sith War in the spring of 1996 and Redemption in the fall of 1998. In the years between the writing of The Sith War and Redemption, Anderson pioneered two more story arcs, both taking place 1000 years before the other TotJ stories, and introducing readers to the events surrounding the Great Hyperspace War. The Tales of the Jedi story arcs are the currently the earliest-set Star Wars works.

Set during the Old Republic era, six of the eight Tales of the Jedi story arcs take place during the time surrounding the events known collectively as the Great Sith War, a conflict instigated by Sith forces aimed at galactic domination. These six story arcs nominally focus on the Jedi Knight turned Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma, his love interest Nomi Sunrider, and a cast of supporting characters, including Ulic's own brother Cay Qel-Droma. Likewise, first appearing in Dark Lords of the Sith, the fallen Jedi Exar Kun would go on to become a Dark Lord of the Sith and wage war against the Republic and Jedi. The remaining two story arcs, The Golden Age of the Sith and The Fall of the Sith Empire, occur in the year 5000 BBY and revolve around Sith Lord Naga Sadow and his schemes to invade Republic space through his manipulation of the Daragon siblings, Gav and Jori.

The Tales of the Jedi saga also produced several non-comic productions, such as the Tales of the Jedi Companion, a sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, and two different audio dramas based off of various TotJ comics. Tales of the Jedi was the inspiration for the popular Knights of the Old Republic video game series, and a bridging comic is currently being published by Dark Horse Comics. (Read more…)

Binding Ceremony of Oron Kira and Galia

The Binding Ceremony of Oron Kira and Galia was an Onderonian Binding Ceremony that took place in 4000 BBY at Fortress Kira, the forest citadel of Beast-Lord Modon Kira. In the wilderness of Onderon, Galia, Princess of Iziz, and Oron Kira of the House of Kira were joined as husband and wife. The wedding was actually the second prong of a plot by Kira and Galia that began with the prearranged abduction of Galia. The abduction itself occurred shortly after the arrival of three Jedi Knights who had been called by Queen Amanoa of Onderon, to assist with ending the civil unrest between the civilians of the lone city of Iziz, and the Beast Riders from the planet's wilderness. Those same Beast Riders, led by Oron Kira, staged an ambush on the Royal Palace of Iziz, where they absconded with the Princess and returned to their forest stronghold. Amanoa, who at this time was at war with the Beast Riders, was also fooled by the charade, and thus ordered the newly-arrived Jedi diplomats to bring her daughter back unharmed. What they did not know was that the Princess had willingly left with the young Beast Rider, so that the two could consecrate their love for each other.

Intent on fulfilling their obligation to the Queen, Tott Doneeta, Cay and Ulic Qel-Droma went into the wilderness of Onderon, where, after being shot down in the Nebulon Ranger by the Beast Riders' perimeter defenses, they crashed in the wildlands. After crashing, they encountered and tamed wild boma beasts, and learned from them that a wedding between Oron Kira and Galia was just beginning. The bomas brought the Jedi to the forest citadel, where they found the wedding already in progress between the Beast-Lord and the Princess. After abruptly halting the ceremony and attempting to rescue Galia, the Jedi were surprised to learn from her that the wedding, like the abduction, had been secretly arranged years prior. They were then invited by Oron Kira's father, Modon Kira, to stay and join in the festivities. After the ceremony, Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma suggested that the newly weds present their marriage to the Queen, in hopes that their union would sway the Amanoa into finally accepting a peaceful settlement between the warring factions. Kira agreed, and traveled with the Jedi and his new wife to the great walled city requesting an audience with the Queen.

However, the peace mission suggested by the Jedi was a failure. Amanoa rejected their offer, and as a result, Oron Kira led his Beast Riders into battle against Amanoa's forces. She was subsequently defeated by the combined might of the Jedi and Beast Riders, and the aftermath saw the achievement of peace, with Galia and Oron Kira being officially recognized as King and Queen of Onderon. Satal Keto

Satal Keto was a Human male native to the planet Empress Teta, the son of Lord Keto, nephew of Lady Magda Keto, and the cousin of Aleema Keto. He and Aleema co-founded the Krath, a secret dark side society, and together they succeeded in overthrowing the Tetan Monarchy just prior to the Great Sith War. As the new co-rulers of the Empress Teta system, Satal and Aleema instigated the conflict known as the Krath Holy Crusade. Keto's progression down the path of the dark side saw him transformed into an accomplished Sith magician, though his true talents were in the creation of poisons and other alchemical Sith practices.

Shortly after the Battle of Koros Major, Satal and Aleema accepted a rogue Jedi named Ulic Qel-Droma into their fold. Time passed, and Keto grew increasingly suspicious of Qel-Droma, fearing he had ulterior motives for joining the Krath. As Qel-Droma advanced through the Krath ranks, he became Aleema's lover, further spurring Keto's jealousy and his suspicions of Qel-Droma's true purpose. It was not until another Jedi was captured in the streets of Cinnagar that Qel-Droma's infiltration plot was exposed, and Keto decided to have Qel-Droma assassinated. The assassination attempt failed, and during the resulting confrontation, Qel-Droma struck Keto down in a fit of rage. (Read more…)

Jori Daragon

Jori Daragon was a Human female, a native of Koros Major and a hyperspace explorer who lived circa 5000 BBY. Although she and her brother, Gav Daragon, were somewhat Force-sensitive, they chose not to join the Jedi Order and remained untrained in the use of the Force. Following the death of her parents, she and Gav became indebted to Aarrba the Hutt. Running out of credits, the two took their ship, the Starbreaker 12, on one last expedition from the city of Cinnagar in hopes of repairing their finances by earning a commission from the Brotherhood of Navigators for finding new hyperlanes. The Daragons accidentally discovered a trail that took them to the Sith world of Korriban. They were imprisoned by the Sith and taken to the planet Ziost for interrogation.

Eventually, they were sentenced to death by the Sith, but Sith Lord Naga Sadow sprang them from prison and took them to his own fortress. Sadow hoped to convince the other Sith that the Daragons were the precursor for a Republic invasion, as that would give him the support of the other Sith Lords for his plan to invade Republic space. When Sadow's rival, Ludo Kressh, attacked Sadow's fortress, Jori took the Starbreaker 12 and escaped back to Republic space, knowing that the she was the only means of warning the Republic of a Sith invasion. Little did she know that Sadow had placed a homing device on her ship and was planning on following the Starbreaker 12's course.

She returned to the Koros system and, after overcoming arrest and incarceration for various crimes, managed to get an audience with Empress Teta, leader of the Koros system, and several prominent Jedi Masters, including Memit Nadill and Odan-Urr. Jori's warning came in time for a successful last-ditch defense to be mounted against the oncoming Sith armada. However, Gav was aiding the Sith fleet and when Jori encountered him on Cinnagar, she chased her brother, trying to stop him. Although Gav eventually turned on the Sith, Sadow had him killed over Primus Goluud. However, Jori survived the war, and since one of its casualties had been Aarrba, she took over ownership of the Hutt's repair dock. (Read more…)

Vara Nreem

Vara Nreem was a Human female who served as a Jedi Knight during the days of the Old Republic. Believing she could learn the secrets of the Sith without allowing herself to fall to the dark side, Nreem traveled to the planet of Krayiss Two in the year 4000 BBY, where it had been previously discovered that an ancient Sith presence was located somewhere on the planet. Eventually finding her way to an age-old Sith obelisk, Nreem was able to make contact with a 10,000 year old Sith spirit. This spirit resided within the walls of a library-temple, which had been confined with the circular walls of the obelisk. Managing to communicate with the Sith specter, Nreem believed that she had been able to fool the spirit into telling her its secrets; however, the Sith had not been fooled and proceeded to attack Nreem. Just before being killed by the Sith ghost, Nreem realized that she had underestimated the dark side of the Force, and that it had been her own disparaging attitude toward her enemy that had led to her death. Orley Vanicus

Admiral Orley Vanicus was considered a hero of the Great Sith War. A member of the Republic Navy and captain of the command ship Reliance over four thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, he was a simple man who didn't dabble in politics or bureaucracy and stuck with what he specialized at: commanding starships. During the Krath conflict, he commanded a mission to the Empress Teta system alongside Jedi Knights Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider, with the intention of protecting Koros Major from the Krath faction. Vanicus and his men were too late, though, and the mission was a failure; they were tricked by the dark side illusions of Sith sorceress Aleema Keto, and suicide Krath Chaos fighters pummeled the Reliance and other ships, until Vanicus ordered a retreat.

Later, during the Great Sith War, he was dispatched to the shipyards at Foerost with the intention of intercepting a pirate group that had been raiding the Republic for weeks. His forces were too late, arriving to find that the majority of the ships under construction at the facility had been stolen and the defensive fleet stationed there routed. He and his staff salvaged what they could, and through a security recording in one of the shipyard's control centers, Vanicus discovered that the pirates' leader was Ulic Qel-Droma, who had left the Republic and joined the Sith. Acting on planted intelligence which Qel-Droma hoped would lure the Republic away from their capital of Coruscant, Vanicus sent the majority of the Republic Navy to Kemplex IX, believing that Qel-Droma's forces were gathered there. Qel-Droma and his Mandalorian allies subsequently launched an attack on the defenseless Coruscant, with Qel-Droma's fellow Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun slaying the Supreme Chancellor and Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. Later in the war, Vanicus led a joint Republic/Onderonian force in battle against Mandalore the Indomitable, driving them back to the wild jungle moon of Dxun, where most of the Mandalorians were killed by native predators. Supreme Chancellor (Great Sith War)

The Supreme Chancellor at the time of the Great Sith War was a sentient male. A member of the Galactic Senate, he became Chancellor after the death of Sidrona Diath in 3997 BBY. He was a firm supporter of the Jedi, and a friend of Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas and Minister of Defense Netus. Just one standard year into the Chancellor's reign, the Galactic Republic fell prey to a group of unidentified terrorists, who plundered and looted many shipyards for a number of months, avoiding detection and apprehension by the Republic Navy. Rumors abounded that a rogue Jedi Knight was responsible, though the Chancellor dismissed them; he and the Senate refused the Jedi Order clearance to intervene and deal with the supposed rogue Jedi itself.

The Order sent Vodo-Siosk Baas to meet with the Chancellor and the Senate and persuade them to overturn their decision, though as they rendezvoused, Dark Lord of the Sith Ulic Qel-Droma—a former Jedi, who had been responsible for the terrorist strikes—launched an attack on Coruscant, capital world of the Republic. The Republic was able to fend his forces off, though, and captured Qel-Droma; the Chancellor decreed that he would be put on trial, held accountable for his crimes, and punished with death. Qel-Droma refused to show regret for his actions at the trial, but before the Chancellor and his fellow Senate members could order his execution, Qel-Droma's fellow Sith Lord Exar Kun forced entry into the Senate Hall. He used the Force to subdue the audience and approached the pulpit on which the Chancellor stood. The Chancellor attempted to attack Kun with his staff; the Sith Lord was too powerful, though, using the dark side to force the Chancellor into telling the congregation that the Senate was a meaningless institution. Gobee

Second-in-command to the Beast-Lord Oron Kira, Gobee was a Human male citizen from the Inner Rim planet of Onderon. A Beast Rider who held the rank of commander, Gobee descended from a society of warriors who had originally been exiled from the city of Iziz for their refusal to submit to the power of the dark side of the Force, and forced to take refuge in the planet's wilderness. A man who typically demonstrated a great degree of loyalty, Gobee often went into battle by Beast-Lord Kira's side. He served with Kira in the final battle of the four hundred-year-long Beast Wars, leading his own contingent of soldiers in aerial assaults against Onderon's capital city of Iziz. When he deemed the city as being sufficiently secured, Gobee continued to lead the Beast Riders, this time from the ground, in a final attack on the Iziz Royal Palace. The actions of Gobee, as well as the intervention of four Jedi Knights, aided in the subsequent victory of the Beast Riders over the city's rulers, members of a Sith cult known as the Naddists—worshipers of the specter of Freedon Nadd, an ancient and long-deceased Dark Lord of the Sith.

However, the peace that Gobee and his kin fought for was short-lived. After personally discovering the existence of Onderon's thought-to-be-dead King Ommin, the secret leader of the Naddist cult, Gobee again fought by Kira's side against Ommin's Naddist army throughout the Freedon Nadd Uprising of 3998 BBY. With assistance this time from military forces of the Galactic Republic, Gobee, Lord Kira, and the Beast Riders triumphed over the Naddists. Afterwards, Gobee, along with his fellow Beast Riders, were able to finally enjoy a time of planetary peace, having defeated the dark side power of Freedon Nadd that had dominated their world for generations. Duel in the Senate

In the year 3996 BBY during the Great Sith War, a duel took place in the Senate Hall of the Galactic Republic, between the Krevaaki Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas and his former apprentice Exar Kun, now Dark Lord of the Sith. It commenced on Coruscant, in the Hall's Grand Convocation Chamber, during the trial Kun's apprentice and fellow Sith Lord, Ulic Qel-Droma. Accompanied by Mandalore the Indomitable, Exar Kun arrived on Coruscant and stormed the Senate Hall, where he found Ulic Qel-Droma on trial for crimes against the Republic. Using Sith magic, the Dark Lord mentally froze the Galactic Senate assembly, leaving only the present Jedi and the Supreme Chancellor uninhibited. After freeing Qel-Droma, he then accosted and killed the Chancellor, and prepared to exit; however, the Sith were halted by the arrival of Kun's former teacher—Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas.

Kun and Master Baas engaged in a heated verbal exchange, with neither willing to accept the other's terms. Kun then ignited his lightsaber while issuing his challenge, and his blade met Baas' Force-imbued staff in battle. When it was realized that the opponents were evenly matched in combat, Kun sought to tip the balance in his favor by revealing his latest creation, a weapon of ancient Sith design: the double-bladed lightsaber. Baas' own mettle now faltering under the strength of Kun's blows, the Master sensed his impending demise as he prophesied a future meeting between the two of them, where Baas vowed to defeat Kun forever. He then became one with the Force under the power of Kun's killing stroke, being mocked by his former apprentice even unto death. His part in the bloody Jedi pogrom complete, the Dark Lord of the Sith departed the Convocation Chamber with Ulic Qel-Droma and Mandalore the Indomitable, resuming their quest for dominion over the galaxy. Aarrba

Aarrba was a Hutt repairman who resided on Koros Major prior to and during the Great Hyperspace War. Owner and manager of Aarrba's Repair Dock, the Hutt enjoyed a successful business, in which he repaired spacecraft quickly and cheaply. His reputation was a good one in Cinnagar, and he was very protective of it. When two of his customers, Hok and Timar Daragon died during the Battle of Kirrek, Aarrba took it upon himself to look after their children, Gav and Jori, by giving them their parents' ship, Starbreaker 12.

The younger Daragons took it upon themselves to become hyperspace explorers—a hazardous profession, and one that required constant repair to the Starbreaker 12. Soon enough, the Daragons found themselves in Aarrba's debt, and when a shipment owned by merchant lord Ssk Kahorr used one of the "shortcuts" they had discovered was destroyed, they were the targeted by Kahorr's assassins. They betrayed Aarrba by stealing the Starbreaker 12, and when, sometime afterward, Jori returned claiming she had discovered the Sith Empire and that Gav had been captured by them, the Hutt refused to listen. This proved costly for him, however, as he was subsequently slain by Sith warriors in the Battle of Koros Major. (Read more…)

Hoggon

Hoggon was a Human male spacer of short stature who was fascinated with the Jedi Order and its history. In 3986 BBY, he unwittingly helped war criminal and former Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma find a suitable world of exile—at first he suggested Yavin 4, but Qel-Droma chose to settle on Rhen Var. Immediately after delivering his client to his new home, Hoggon went to Exis Station, to witness the Jedi conclave that was taking place there. As he departed, he discovered that Vima Sunrider had been stowing away on his ship. The young girl, daughter of Jedi Master Nomi Sunrider, sought Qel-Droma's teachings, and when she showed a hologram of the man to Hoggon, he realized that it was the very same person he had taken to Rhen Var.

Delivering the young girl to Rhen Var, Hoggon then decided to inform the Jedi of Qel-Droma's location, hoping that he would be privy to a battle between them and the exile. At first he took his information to Nomi Sunrider, but then chose to inform the Jedi Cathar Sylvar, who was highly critical of Qel-Droma. Taking Sylvar to Rhen Var, Hoggon watched on as she battled the exile. However, Sylvar was unable to kill Qel-Droma, and, seeing his opportunity to enter the history books, Hoggon shot Qel-Droma instead. First Duel in the Iron Citadel

Of the two contests of strength that happened there, the First Duel in the Iron Citadel occurred earlier in the year 3997 BBY, between the grief-stricken Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma, and Emperor Satal Keto, co-leader of the Krath and ruler of the Empress Teta system. The duel took place on the eponymous planet of Empress Teta, in the capital city of Cinnagar, on the balcony of the Krath's stronghold: the Iron Citadel. The duel commenced shortly after a weapons display by Ulic Qel-Droma who, as a secret agent of the Jedi, was attempting to infiltrate the dark side-following Krath cult from within.

While Qel-Droma was explaining to Tetan officials new technological upgrades he had made to their planetary defenses, he was interrupted by Satal Keto, who had just received word of a female Jedi captured in the streets of Cinnagar. Accusing Qel-Droma of being a spy, Keto had the woman brought before them; Qel-Droma immediately recognized her as his former lover, Nomi Sunrider, but unwilling to prematurely expose his deception to the Krath, Qel-Droma agreed to have her imprisoned pending execution. However, Qel-Droma had sent a secret message to Sunrider, explaining his need for more time to complete his mission. The message was never received by her; instead, it was intercepted by Satal Keto who, in the face of Qel-Droma's newly exposed treachery, ordered him to be assassinated at once. The attempt failed, but succeeded in enraging Qel-Droma, who set off immediately in search of Lord Keto.

Meanwhile, Sunrider managed to escape her holdings, and had also called her colleagues for an extraction in light of the deteriorating situation. Help came in the form of Qel-Droma's brother Cay, and the Twi'lek Jedi Tott Doneeta. They were preparing to depart without Qel-Droma, just as Lord Keto encountered them from a balcony of the Iron Citadel. To everyone's surprise, Qel-Droma also appeared on the balcony, confronting the Krath warlord and engaging in a duel. It ended with Satal Keto being struck down by Qel-Droma in a fit of rage. With his dying words, Keto expressed his satisfaction in knowing that his death had successfully driven Ulic Qel-Droma to the dark side of the Force. (Read more…)

Raid on the Iziz Royal Palace

The raid on the Iziz Royal Palace took place in 4000 BBY, and was a preconceived plot developed by the Beast Riders of the planet Onderon's wilderness, to abduct Galia, Princess of Onderon. After spending years in exile from the lone city of Iziz, the Beast Riders managed to secretly infiltrate the city, and began trading information with the citizens who were against the rule of Queen Amanoa. It was also during this time that Beast-Lord Oron Kira, met and fell in love with Galia. Because the couple knew that the Queen would not allow their union, they developed a plot in which the Beast Riders would attack the Royal Palace of Iziz and kidnap Galia. As part of the abduction, the Princess would be taken to Kira’s forest stronghold to wed the Beast-Lord. Waiting for the right time, an opportunity arose when three Jedi Knights arrived on Onderon to facilitate peace negotiations between the Beast Riders of the planet's wilderness and the citizens of the Iziz.

Through their underground contacts, the Beast Riders learned that the city-dwellers had requested aid from the Republic. The Riders then planned to use the Jedi's arrival as the distraction they required to carry out their planned abduction. The mounted warriors encountered the Knights in the Onderonian atmosphere and attacked their starship, paying out blaster fire before the Knights could even land. The Jedi received assistance from Iziz's defense towers, however, who covered their landing and repelled Kira’s forces with turbolaser bombardment. The Beast Riders momentarily halted the chase as the Jedi successfully landed in the city, where they were brought them before the Queen and her daughter.

As one of the Jedi offered the protection of both the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order to the Queen, Kira and his men managed to penetrate not only the city wall defenses, but the palace, as well. Several warbeasts and their Riders overtook the throne room as Amanoa's Royal Protectors ushered her and Galia to safety while the Jedi met the intruders in combat. Two of the warriors, special Beast Warrior Commandos, slipped passed the Jedi and followed after the Queen's entourage. The warrior pair defeated the Royal Protectors and successfully abducted Galia. Amanoa was lightly stunned in the commotion, and the Beast Riders promptly departed, having successfully carried out their mission. In turn, the Queen demanded that the Jedi have the Princess returned at once. (Read more…)

Battle of Iziz

The Battle of Iziz, fought in the year 4000 BBY, was the culmination of a centuries-long planetary conflict known as the Beast Wars of Onderon. The battle began after three Jedi Knights arrived on Onderon to oversee an attempt at a peaceful existence between the people of Onderon's lone city, Iziz, led by the Queen Amanoa, and the Beast Riders from the planet's wilderness. However, the Jedi's negotiations with Amanoa were suddenly halted when Beast Warrior Commandos raided the Iziz Royal Palace, during which time Princess Galia, Amanoa's daughter, was kidnapped. Upon orders from the queen to retrieve the princess, the Jedi successfully located Galia at the Beast Rider's jungle citadel, Fortress Kira, and discovered that she was in the process of marrying Oron Kira, son of Beast-Lord Modon Kira.

The Jedi learned during the reception that Amanoa ruled Iziz through the power of an ancient Dark Lord of the Sith named Freedon Nadd, and that the Beast Riders' refusal to submit to her will was what sparked the war. They convinced Galia and Kira to return with them to Iziz to present their marriage to Amanoa as an end to the conflict, but the queen rejected the proposal outright. In a gesture that shocked them all, Amanoa invoked the spirit of Nadd, while ordering her armies to engage the Beast Riders in war. Following Amanoa's refusal, Oron Kira contacted his army, which was the largest gathering of Beast Riders ever assembled, and commanded them to begin their attacks on Iziz.

Both sides suffered many casualties early on in the battle. The tide steadily turned in favor of the Beast Riders, who had managed to capture the city and surround the Royal Palace. However, Amanoa and the Naddists, city-dwelling worshipers of Freedon Nadd, employed the power of the dark side of the Force, for which the Beast Riders had no defense. Slowly, the direction of battle swayed, this time in favor of Amanoa and the city-dwellers. Not until the arrival of Jedi Master Arca Jeth, who exercised his mastery of Jedi battle meditation against the Naddists, was victory delivered into the hands of the Beast Riders. During the battle, Amanoa was killed, having been released from Nadd's influence and unable to withstand the potency of Jeth's light side power. With the death of her mother, Galia assumed the throne of Iziz, with Kira ruling at her side as king. (Read more…)

Star Saber XC-01 starfighter

The Star Saber XC-01 starfighter was an experimental fighter produced by Republic Fleet Systems, and tested by Jedi pilots during the Great Sith War. Long, sleek craft, the single-seat starfighters nonetheless were equipped with hyperdrives. Although the ships were capable of swift acceleration, their low maneuverability-to-speed ratio and slow control stick reaction gained them a reputation as dangerous and unwieldy craft. Heavy blaster cannons and deflector shields gave the Star Saber more offensive and defensive capabilities than contemporary fighters, however, and the Galactic Republic pressed the craft into service despite their design flaws. From their initial combat mission against the Krath stronghold of Cinnagar until the retirement of their line with the advent of the Aurek tactical strikefighter, the Star Saber was largely flown by Jedi, who could compensate by using the Force for the fighter's design flaws, which were never corrected. S-100 Stinger-class starfighter

The S-100 Stinger-class starfighter was a single-seat fighter produced by Corellian Engineering Corporation before, during, and after the Great Sith War of 3997 BBY. Measuring 11.5 meters in length, the hyperdrive-equipped craft was used by the Jedi Order, the navy of the Galactic Republic, and civilian purchase. Armed with laser cannons and proton torpedo launchers, and minimally shielded, the S-100 was considered lightly armed, but was said to make up for its defensive shortcomings with its high speed and maneuverability superior to most other starfighters of its time. Despite the introduction of other craft, the Stinger remained the mainstay of the Jedi, who used it in conflicts against the Krath during the Sith War and afterward, until the introduction of the Aurek tactical strikefighter before the Mandalorian Wars of 3976 BBY. Even then, the fighter remained in production, and was preferred by planetary defense forces. (Read more…)

Quanto

Quanto was a male gangster living in the Stenness star system four thousand years before the Battle of Yavin. A space pirate, Quanto was in the employ of crime lord Bogga the Hutt as one of his enforcers. He often worked under the direction of Bogga's senior enforcer, Gudb, whom Quanto considered a friend. Quanto's feelings of comradery were not reciprocated by Gudb, however, and he was often treated as an underling by Gudb rather than an equal.

In 4,000 BBY, Quanto was on the Stenness Hyperspace Terminal when he and Gudb accosted Jedi Knight Andur Sunrider and his family in an attempt to steal the Adegan crystals in their possession. Quanto was sent to distract the family while his partner went to obtain Bogga's permission to proceed. The robbery was unsuccessful, and though the Jedi was killed, so too was Quanto—having been sliced from shoulder to hip by the deceased Jedi's wife, Nomi, using Andur's lightsaber. (Read more…)

Gudb

Gudb was a male gangster of an unidentified species and scourge of the Stenness star system in the name of Great Bogga the Hutt. He was the primary henchman in Bogga's enforcer gang, a group of beings that exercised Bogga's will throughout Stenness. Gudb had a pet gorm worm named Skritch, with whom he had faced many an opponent, including Jedi on occasion.

In 4000 BBY, Gudb and his gang encountered the Human Jedi Andur Sunrider and his family on the Stenness Hyperspace Terminal. Gudb was ordered to steal the Adegan lightsaber crystals in the Jedi's possession and managed to kill Sunrider, but was driven off without the crystals by the deceased's widow, Nomi, who took up his lightsaber and slew two of Gudb's companions. He returned to Bogga's stronghold defeated, and the Hutt accompanied Gudb on his next mission—to the planet Ambria, where the woman had fled to the safety of the resident Jedi. He and his thugs were challenged by the Vultan Jedi Oss Wilum upon their arrival, whom they overcame and prepared to kill. Gudb and his team were defeated again when Wilum's Master Thon attacked, causing them to retreat before the Jedi's strength in the Force.

Bogga later sent Gudb and his gang back to Ambria, to once again attack the Jedi and retrieve the crystals. Gudb's forces nearly succeeded, when the same timid woman from the hyperspace terminal attacked, confusing Gudb's men with Jedi battle meditation and cutting them down with her lightsaber. Rather than stay and face Nomi Sunrider again, Gudb fled Ambria in defeat to instead face the wrath of Bogga the Hutt. (Read more…)

Duel on Rhen Var

The Duel on Rhen Var was a lightsaber battle that took place in the year 3986 BBY between the former Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma and the Cathar Jedi Knight Sylvar. After tracking the self-exiled Qel-Droma to the ice planet Rhen Var with the help of a spacer named Hoggon, Sylvar confronted him and was determined to make him pay for all the lives lost in the Great Sith War, of which Qel-Droma was a chief instigator during his tenure with Dark Lord Exar Kun's Sith Brotherhood some ten years prior. Qel-Droma—who, while on Rhen Var, had since completed the Jedi training of Vima Sunrider, daughter of his former lover, Nomi—answered the challenge of his accuser, and the two engaged in lightsaber combat. However, Qel-Droma quickly realized that Sylvar was allowing her anger to drive her dangerously close to accepting the dark side of the Force, like he had once done. Unwilling to be the instrument of Sylvar's downfall, Qel-Droma deactivated his weapon and refused to fight any longer; Sylvar, a devout Jedi, was unable to attack an unarmed opponent, thus forcing her to disengage him and accept the truth of where her emotions had led her. Ulic Qel-Droma, the object of Sylvar's rage, was the same individual to redeem her and free her of the hatred she held on to for so long.

Though Sylvar's inner peace was finally restored, it was immediately put to the test. Hoggon, who had been watching nearby, became embittered by the Cathar Jedi's sudden change of heart and mortally wounded Qel-Droma with a shot from his blaster pistol in an attempt to solidify a place for himself in the annals of galactic history. The spacer then promptly departed, after having been spared the wrath of Sylvar, whose recent redemption had kept her from killing him only moments before. Meanwhile, as Ulic Qel-Droma lay dying on a cliff, he declared Nomi's daughter Vima a fully vested Jedi. Then, much to their surprise, he faded into the Force, in the way of newly deceased Jedi Masters. (Read more…)

Funeral of Marka Ragnos

The funeral of Marka Ragnos was a Sith funeral that occurred in 5000 BBY on the planet Korriban, to mark the passing of revered Dark Lord of the Sith Marka Ragnos. Officiated by a lesser Sith Lord named Ludo Kressh, Ragnos' funeral took place in Korriban's Valley of the Dark Lords and marked the end of the period known as the Golden Age of the Sith. An opulent tomb had been prepared within the valley's Shyrack caves for the deceased, filled with many treasures acquired by Ragnos' Empire during his time as its Emperor.

The funeral was attended by many from all tiers of Sith society, including twenty of the Empire's most prominent Sith Lords; Ludo Kressh was at the head of the procession and also presided over the Dark Lord's rites of passage. The ceremony began without hitch after Ragnos' tomb was sealed, but when Kressh's sworn enemy, the Sith sorcerer Naga Sadow, arrived late to take a place of reverence amongst his kinsmen, the interruption angered Kressh immensely. A heated exchange between the two over who should become Ragnos' successor as the next Dark Lord quickly escalated into a Sith sword duel, but was just as quickly brought to an end with the sudden appearance of the ghost of Ragnos himself.

Proclaiming an end to the Sith's Golden Age, Ragnos issued an ominous warning to the feuding Lords to choose their next moves wisely, as the fate of Sith Empire would be decided by their actions. The presence of Ragnos' spirit also appeared in a vision to Jedi Knight Odan-Urr of the distant Koros system, who believed the premonition was one of foreboding for the Galactic Republic. Meanwhile, the funeral ended with the unexpected arrival of hyperspace-traveling siblings Gav and Jori Daragon on Korriban, which caused the Sith to view them as either potential harbingers of an invasion by the Republic or an opportunity to expand upon the majesty of an Empire which Ragnos ruled for more than a century. Tott Doneeta

Tott Doneeta, born Tottdon'eeta, was a male Twi'lek from the planet Ryloth. Born into slavery, he was found by Jedi Master Arca Jeth and trained as a Knight of the Galactic Republic. A devout follower of the Force, Doneeta studied alongside fellow apprentices Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma at Master Jeth's praxeum on Jeth's homeworld of Arkania. As he progressed in the ways of the Jedi, Doneeta developed a unique, innate ability to understand and communicate with beasts.

In 4000 BBY, Doneeta and the Qel-Droma brothers were sent by Jeth to mediate negotiations between the warring peoples on the world of Onderon—the Beast Riders of Onderon's wilderness, and the dark side–worshiping citizens of Onderon's only city, Iziz. The mission went awry, and Doneeta found himself siding with the Beast Riders against the Naddists, followers of the ancient Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd that were led by Queen Amanoa of Iziz. The battle ended with the arrival of Master Jeth, who defeated Amanoa and banished Nadd's influence from Iziz. Doneeta and his companions remained on the planet to oversee Amanoa's funeral, and he was present when the forces of Amanoa's husband, King Ommin, arrived to steal both her remains and those of Nadd, Ommin's Sith forefather. After the ensuing battle, Doneeta stayed behind while Jeth attempted to retrieve the sarcophagi, but when Jeth was captured by King Ommin, Doneeta and his companions called for assistance from the Galactic Senate on Coruscant. The Republic responded by sending the full force of its navy and a team consisting of five additional Jedi. Doneeta and his team were successful in defeating the Naddists, freeing Jeth, and permanently driving Nadd's spirit from Onderon.

When a new Sith cult called the Krath was formed in the wake of the unrest in the Onderon system, Doneeta responded to the call for action by attending the Jedi Conclave on the planet Deneba. The Krath ambushed the convocation, and Master Jeth was killed in the attack, causing Doneeta's fellow Jedi, Ulic Qel-Droma, to subsequently infiltrate their ranks in an attempt to destroy the Krath from within. Many of Qel-Droma's colleagues were against his plan, and Doneeta was among those who were sent to collect him from the Krath, only to find that Qel-Droma had embraced the dark side and had become a Sith Lord. Qel-Droma and the Krath began a holy crusade and joined forces with Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun to wage the Great Sith War upon the Republic. When the Sith Brotherhood invaded Coruscant, Doneeta was among the Jedi that helped capture Qel-Droma so that he could be tried for his various war crimes. However, Qel-Droma was freed by Exar Kun, and together they resumed their war of galactic conquest. Doneeta was later present on the library world of Ossus when the Sith Brotherhood caused a supernova that threatened to devastate the planet. He assisted in the evacuation proceedings by gathering many priceless Jedi artifacts before the conflagration hit. The Sith were ultimately overthrown by the Jedi when Qel-Droma—who had renounced his allegiance to the Dark Lord—led Doneeta and his companions to Kun's stronghold on Yavin 4. There, the Twi'lek participated in the collective Jedi effort to defeat Exar Kun, which resulted in Yavin 4's surface destruction.

Ten years later, Doneeta returned to Ryloth, where he unsuccessfully attempted to stall a planetary weather phenomenon known as a heat storm in defense of his clansmen. He later left his homeworld for the Exis space station to attend another Jedi gathering called by then–Head of the Order, Nomi Sunrider. Arriving late, Doneeta was just in time to save Sunrider's daughter from a stellar calamity. At the conclave's end, Doneeta traveled with the Cathar Jedi Sylvar in various attempts to help her release her anger, but to no avail. The quest led them to her homeworld, where he finally recognized that Sylvar's hate was leading her into the dark side. Ssk Kahorr

Ssk Kahorr was a Cha'a merchant lord active in the Koros system in the years leading up to the Great Hyperspace War. Kahorr employed an assistant named Gorrm and additionally was often seen with a small insectoid creature named Tk'lokk on his shoulder. In 5000 BBY, Kahorr sent a drone ship, the Zeta Five, along the hyperspace route Goluud Corridor to deliver supplies to a mining colony on Goluud Minor. The Zeta Five was destroyed by a solar flare, however, resulting in the loss of all cargo. An enraged Kahorr sent assassins after the two navigators who blazed the trail, siblings Gav and Jori Daragon. Unfortunately for Kahorr, the assassins were fended off by two Jedi Knights, Odan-Urr and Memit Nadill. The Daragons escaped the system, but Jori returned later, proclaiming that she had found the long-lost Sith Empire, and that they were planning to attack the Galactic Republic. Kahorr took this opportunity to seize Daragon's ship, the Starbreaker 12, as payment for the destruction of Zeta Five. The Cha'a merchant subsequently took the ship for a joyride to test its controls; however, the ship was destroyed by an incoming Sith fleet, killing Kahorr. (Read more…)

Ludo Kressh

Ludo Kressh was a Sith Lord in the years leading up to and during the Great Hyperspace War. Descended from a mixed ancestry of Dark Jedi and members of the Sith species, Ludo Kressh rose to be a powerful Sith Lord, all the while clashing with his greatest rival, fellow Sith Lord Naga Sadow. In 5000 BBY, Dark Lord of the Sith Marka Ragnos died, and both Kressh and Sadow angled for the title. Kressh led the deceased Dark Lord's funeral procession but was interrupted by the late arrival of Naga Sadow. Sadow proclaimed that the title of Dark Lord of the Sith was rightfully his, and an angered Kressh attacked him; however, their duel was stopped by Ragnos' ghost. After the fight, two outsiders landed in the middle of the funeral: hyperspace travelers Gav and Jori Daragon. Kressh feared that the siblings were precursors to an invasion by the Galactic Republic, while Sadow believed they were the key to expanding the Sith Empire's territory.

Kressh and his rival disagreed repeatedly over the matter of the Daragons. Sadow, seeking to make his dream of a war with the Republic a reality, staged a false Republic attack on the Empire. Kressh was convinced at first and advocated bolstering the Empire's defenses against an impending Republic invasion. However, the Sith Lord soon discovered Sadow's treachery and attacked his fortress on the planet Khar Delba, but was subsequently outwitted and defeated by Sadow. Kressh then faked his death by sending his empty flagship toward Sadow's citadel, where it was shot down and destroyed. Without a strong opponent, Sadow—now the new Dark Lord—launched the Great Hyperspace War against the Republic. However, the Dark Lord returned to the Sith Empire with a diminished fleet after suffering a defeat at the hands of the Republic. It was then that Kressh revealed himself, telling Sadow that he had indeed faked his death. Battle ensued over Korriban, and Kressh at first seemed to have taken the upper hand against his weakened opponent. However, the ever-cunning Dark Lord ordered one of his doomed ships to make a suicide run on Kressh's flagship, and the collision killed Kressh. (Read more…)

Thannor Keth

Thannor Keth was a male Sith sorcerer who lived during the days prior to the end of the Great Sith War. He had two apprentices—twin siblings Xash and Sindra, whom he trained to use the dark side of the Force. Keth and his two pupils journeyed to the planet Vigil in search of a Force-sensitive girl of immense potential named Nova, crash-landing on the planet. He sent Xash and Sindra to retrieve the girl but both failed to do so and died in the process; it happened that Nova unwittingly came to him, and Keth immediately took her prisoner.

As Thannor Keth tried to repair his damaged vessel, the girl's caretaker, Lian Dray—a fallen Jedi seeking redemption—appeared and confronted Keth over her capture. The diversion Dray created to effect the girl's rescue infuriated Keth, and the sorcerer pursued them through Vigil's forest where he attacked Dray with repeated torrents of Force lightning. The Jedi blocked the initial attack but was ultimately no match for Keth's dark side skill, and the Sith sorcerer quickly brought Dray down and attempted to sever his connection to the Force. Keth was killed, however, when Dray received assistance from Nova, who joined the Jedi in the creation of a Force shield that ripped Keth asunder, leaving behind only the smoldering tatters of his Sith robes. Trial of Ulic Qel-Droma

The Trial of Ulic Qel-Droma was a criminal proceeding carried out in 3996 BBY, which followed the Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma's arrest and subsequent charge of perpetrating a menace to galactic society. He was taken into custody by the Knights of the Jedi Order after being abandoned by an accomplice, the Sith sorceress Aleema Keto, following their Krath cult's failed surprise attack on the galactic capital of Coruscant. Qel-Droma was immediately placed under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Chancellor, who chided that death was the planned and acceptable restitution for the Sith Lord's crimes against the citizens of the Republic.

Qel-Droma was shortly thereafter brought into the center of the Senate Hall to stand before the Republic's Senate, where a list of offenses was read by the Chancellor for all to hear. When asked to enter a plea on his own behalf, Qel-Droma denounced those present as short-sighted individuals who only served as obstacles in the way of the Sith Brotherhood's plan to restore a Golden Age of Sith splendor through conquest of the galaxy. It was then that Qel-Droma's Master, Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun, arrived with Mandalore the Indomitable and a cadre of Massassi warriors at his side to take control of the judicial proceedings.

A Sith spell invoked by Exar Kun prevented anyone from intervening as the Dark Lord freed Qel-Droma and made his way to the Chancellor's podium. The present Jedi Knights were detained by the Massassi while Kun accosted the Supreme Chancellor and, through the influence of his sorcery, forced him to profess both the insignificance of the Republic and the superiority of the Brotherhood of the Sith. Kun then murdered the Chancellor before the impotent masses, effectively eliminating the judge and jury whose determination it was to see Ulic Qel-Droma found guilty for his infractions. With none left to oppose them, the accused and his comrades prepared to depart but were delayed by the sudden arrival of Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. The Krevaaki Master attempted to reason with the Sith, but he too met his demise on the floor of the Senate Chamber in a duel with Exar Kun. The events that unfolded during Ulic Qel-Droma's trial only served as proof of what both he and Kun had previously stated: that the Galactic Republic was powerless against the machinations of the Sith. Gav Daragon

Gav Daragon was a male Human hyperspace explorer who lived in the years up to and during the Great Hyperspace War. At a young age, Daragon was trained in the Force by the Jedi but neglected to fully join the Jedi Order. After his parents, Hok and Timar Daragon, died while running supplies to besieged soldiers on Kirrek, Daragon and his sister, Jori Daragon, inherited the Starbreaker 12, one of their parents' starships, and began careers as hyperspace trailblazers. However, trouble with creditors forced them to flee their homeworld of Koros Major and take a blind hyperspace jump into an uncharted area of the galaxy to avoid assassins and the authorities. When they pulled out of hyperspace, they stumbled upon the legendary Sith Empire, which had been isolated for millennia. Although Daragon tried to keep the meeting with the Sith peaceful, he and his sister were imprisoned by the reigning Sith Lords.

Daragon and his sister were due to be executed, but they were rescued by one of the most powerful Sith Lords in the Sith Empire, Naga Sadow. Gav and Jori Daragon were hidden in Sadow's secret fortress on Khar Shian, where Sadow discovered Daragon's Force-sensitivity and began to train him in the dark side of the Force. Sadow was expansionist and preached to Daragon that he would assist the Sith in a coming war with the Galactic Republic. Meanwhile, Sadow was in a power dispute with another Sith Lord, Ludo Kressh, leading Kressh to attack Sadow in the Battle of Khar Delba. Sadow was victorious, and in the chaos he allowed Jori to escape in the Starbreaker 12. With nothing standing in his way, Sadow—as new Dark Lord of the Sith—placed his new apprentice Daragon in charge of the Sith fleets and launched a two-pronged attack on the Galactic Republic, with major battles commencing on Coruscant and in the Koros system.

Daragon personally commanded the attack on Koros Major but, hoping to find his sister on the planet below, took a dropship down to his former home city of Cinnagar. Daragon sought help from an old acquaintance, Aarrba, the owner of Aarrba's Repair Dock, but the old Hutt merely spat in his face. Interpreting this move as an attack, Daragon's Sith Massassi guards slew the Hutt. As a shocked Daragon stood over Aarrba's body, he was confronted by Jori, who blamed him for Aarrba's death. Overwhelmed by emotion, Daragon fled from his sister and returned to his flagship. No longer loyal to Naga Sadow due to the destruction that the war had caused to both his former home and his relationship with Jori, and feeling that he needed to put a stop to the violence, Daragon went to Primus Goluud, where Sadow was cloistered in his Sith Meditation Sphere, conjuring illusions for the war effort. Daragon fired on Sadow, breaking the Dark Lord's concentration; however, Sadow was able to convince Daragon to meet him face-to-face. When Daragon arrived on the meditation sphere, he realized that he had been tricked; the damaged sphere was empty. The Koros fleet soon arrived in-system along with Jori, and Daragon gave them the coordinates to the Sith Empire's home worlds. Telling his sister goodbye, Daragon was soon killed by solar flares that were summoned by Sadow. The Koros military took Daragon's coordinates and attacked Sadow at Korriban, routing him and ending the Great Hyperspace War. (Read more…)

Battle of Koros Major

The Battle of Koros Major was a clash fought during the Great Hyperspace War between the army of the unified Koros system and the forces of the Sith Empire. In 5000 BBY, Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow gathered an invasion force and launched an attack on the Galactic Republic. A part of the Sith fleet led by Sadow's Sith apprentice and Koros Major native Gav Daragon, was sent to conquer the Koros system in a two-pronged attack focused on both his homeworld and the planet Kirrek. The Koros military, commanded by Empress Teta and Vontaige, one of her top advisors and generals, had a diminished fleet due to a recent war but nevertheless believed that they could provide a good accounting of themselves. During the planet-side engagement on Koros Major, Gav Daragon took a dropship down to the main area of battle in the city of Cinnagar to find his sister, Jori, whom he had not seen in a long time. While looking for her with his company of Massassi guards, Daragon had an altercation with a former acquaintance, Aarrba the Hutt, which resulted in the Hutt's death. Jori Daragon arrived at that moment and confronted her brother about the Hutt's death. Overcome with emotion, Gav fled and abandoned the battle soon afterward, deciding to attack Sadow and end the war. With Gav Daragon no longer present to direct them, the Sith lost the battle. Starbreaker 12

The Starbreaker 12 was a starship owned by the Daragon family in the years leading up to the Great Hyperspace War. Originally owned by husband-and-wife starship operators Hok and Timar Daragon and used as a backup to their main craft, the Shadow Runner, the ship was bequeathed to their children, Gav and Jori Daragon, after their deaths. The Daragon siblings subsequently became hyperspace explorers, although they were not very successful. After one run, the Starbreaker 12 was taken by local repair dock owner Aarrba as collateral for repairs for which the Daragons were unable to pay. After narrowly escaping assassins sent to kill them after one of local merchant lord Ssk Kahorr's ships, the Zeta Five, was destroyed on one of the Daragons' routes, Gav and Jori Daragon were forced to steal the Starbreaker 12 from Aarrba's Repair Dock and take a hyperspace jump into unknown territory to flee pursuers.

The hyperspace jump eventually brought the Starbreaker 12 and her crew to the Sith Empire. Touching down on the planet Korriban in the middle of the funeral of Dark Lord of the Sith Marka Ragnos in the Valley of the Dark Lords, Gav and Jori Daragon were arrested and the Starbreaker 12 impounded in the Sith Citadel on the world of Ziost. It was not long, however, until the scheming Sith Lord Naga Sadow launched an attack and freed Gav and Jori Daragon, bringing them to his fortress on Khar Delba; the Starbreaker 12 was stolen and taken to Khar Delba by Sadow's Massassi agents soon afterward. Sadow's rival, Ludo Kressh, quickly attacked Khar Delba after discovering Sadow's treachery, and Sadow allowed Jori to slip away in the Starbreaker 12 during the battle, though not before planting a tracking device on the ship, which later led him back to the Galactic Republic to launch an attack. When Jori returned to her homeworld of Koros Major, the Starbreaker 12 was taken by Ssk Kahorr as payment for the destruction of the Zeta Five. Kahorr decided to take the ship on a joyride to test its functions, but the ship was destroyed by Sadow's large Sith fleet, which had followed the tracking device to the Republic. (Read more…)

Battle of Foerost (Great Sith War)

The Battle of Foerost was a conflict that occurred in 3996 BBY during the Great Sith War. It began as a raid carried out by the Krath forces of Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma and the troops of Mandalore the Indomitable. Qel-Droma coveted the many ships under construction for the Galactic Republic for use in his Krath Holy Crusade and employed his lover, the Sith sorceress Aleema Keto, to create an illusion, allowing the forces to slip into the shipyards unchallenged. Once inside, the illusion was dropped, and the Krath forces, bolstered by the armies of Mandalore, stormed the facilities, managing to secure the operational codes to the newly-completed vessels. Fleet Captain Orley Vanicus was dispatched to try and interrupt the raid with a contingent of Republic reinforcements, but was too late to stop the theft of over three hundred warships. A recording of Qel-Droma from the attack was later discovered, finally leaking the secret identity of the Republic's new enemy. (Read more…)

Khar Delba

Khar Delba was an icy, snowy planet in Sith Space, which was part of the Sith Empire as of 5000 BBY. Khar Delba had one moon, Khar Shian, and was located at the edge of Sith Space. It was the home to the Sith war behemoth. Naga Sadow placed a citadel there, but unbeknownst to the rest of the Sith at large, Sadow's Khar Delba citadel was a mere decoy; his real base was on Khar Shian. In 5,000 BBY, with Naga Sadow in the midst of a power struggle with his rival, Ludo Kressh, Khar Delba was attacked from orbit by forces loyal to Kressh. Although the citadel was badly damaged in Kressh's orbital bombardment of the planet, Sadow emerged victorious after calling in his secret fleet from the far side of Khar Shian to counterattack Kressh. In the following months, Khar Delba was rebuilt and was established as the center of Naga Sadow's power as he gathered a force to invade the Galactic Republic, in a conflict that became known as the Great Hyperspace War. After the war, control of the planet changed hands several times throughout history, at different points falling under the rule of Darth Revan's Sith Empire, the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, Lord Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness, Imperial warlord Zsinj, and, by 137 ABY, Darth Krayt's Sith Empire. Duel on Kuar

In 3996 BBY, a duel took place on the planet Kuar between the Sith Lord Ulic Qel-Droma and Mandalore the Indomitable, leader of the Mandalorian Crusaders. In the months following the alliance between fellow Dark Lords of the Sith Exar Kun and Qel-Droma, the Mandalorian clans attempted to begin a new crusade under their warlord's banner, believing that they would be able to gain control over the Empress Teta system while the attention of Qel-Droma and his Krath cult was focused elsewhere.

Engaging in several small raids to test the strength of the Krath, Mandalore eventually caught the attention of Qel-Droma by destroying an important carbonite smelting station in the Empress Teta system. Wanting to crush the threat that the Mandalorians presented as soon as possible, Qel-Droma agreed to a challenge of single combat on the planet Kuar extended by Mandalore. The duel, as explained by Mandalore, would be fought between Qel-Droma and himself, and the victor would receive full command over their foes' forces, as well as the seven worlds of Empress Teta. Qel-Droma managed to best Mandalore during the course of the fight, but refused to kill his defeated enemy. Having experienced the fighting ability of Mandalore firsthand, Qel-Droma believed that Mandalore was of more use to him alive. Seeing that his reputation had been preserved, Mandalore pledged his life, honor, and troops to Qel-Droma's cause. (Read more…)

Korriban zombie

Korriban zombies, also known as Korriban Sith zombies, were semi-sentient, undead humanoid predators native to the Sith tombworld Korriban. Originally created prior to 7000 BBY by Sith King Dathka Graush's experiments using Sith alchemy and magic to reanimate corpses, the creatures were soon discovered to be capable of creating more of their kind by biting living sentient beings. After a tumultuous fifty-year reign, Graush was assassinated, and the spirits animating the zombies were collected in a crystal that was buried with him in his tomb located in Korriban's Valley of Golg.

For the next seven millennia, the zombies served as guardians of the tombs of the Sith Lords in both the Valley of Golg and the Valley of the Dark Lords. The creatures laid dormant for extended periods of time, and were only awakened by the commands of the deceased Sith Lords' spirits or the disturbance of Graush's crystal in order to eliminate any intruders or would-be tomb robbers. The zombies' limited intelligence allowed them to wield weapons, and this attribute, coupled with their intimidating presence, ensured that few sentients prevailed during an encounter with the creatures. In 3997 BBY, Jedi Knight Exar Kun survived an encounter with the guardian zombies while exploring the Valley of the Dark Lords, as did a group of Jedi Knights and their respective Padawans nearly four millennia after Kun, during their pursuit of a galactic criminal. A subsequent encounter with the creatures occurred six months before the Battle of Yavin, when a pirate vessel crash-landed near the Valley of Golg. (Read more…)

Bogga

Bogga was a Hutt crime lord who operated out of the Stenness Node in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Bogga was the head of a criminal empire that encompassed the Stenness system, and led an enforcer gang that was feared throughout the area. In 3999 BBY, Bogga received word that a Jedi Knight possessing valuable Adegan crystals had landed at the Stenness Hyperspace Terminal, where the Hutt often dwelt. Desiring the jewels, Bogga sent several of his enforcers to obtain them. The Jedi Knight, Andur Sunrider, was slain in the ensuing struggle, forcing his wife, Nomi, to take up his lightsaber and strike down two of Bogga's henchmen, while depriving the third of the crystals. Bent on obtaining the gems, Bogga followed the woman in his sail barge to the desolate planet of Ambria, where she was to deliver the jewels to the Hutt's sworn enemy, a Jedi Master named Thon. Bogga was again foiled when Thon and his apprentice, Oss Wilum, defeated the Hutt and his crew in a brief skirmish.

Bogga subsequently returned to his stronghold on the moon of Vo Dasha, although he remained committed to exacting revenge on Master Thon and obtaining the Adegan crystals. In the meantime, Bogga loaned a security crew to protect an Ithullan ore hauler, a ship that was under the threat of attack by pirates. The pirates were defeated, and their leader, a being named Finhead Stonebone, was captured and brought to Vo Dasha in chains. Bogga decided to spare Stonebone's life on one condition: that Stonebone would journey to Ambria, kill Master Thon, and obtain the crystals. Stonebone consented to the arrangement and left for Ambria. However, this third attempt to obtain the crystals failed like the previous two, as Thon and the newly trained Jedi Nomi Sunrider defeated Stonebone in a pitched battle. (Read more…)

Matta Tremayne

Matta Tremayne was a Human female from the planet Corroth who served as a Master within the Jedi Order. Tremayne's delicate physical appearance belied her true nature as a consummate lightsaber duelist, one highly acclaimed for her expertise with the weapon. Her service to the Jedi was given in the form of lightsaber combat instruction to the Order's students. She also personally undertook the training of the Jedi apprentice Freedon Nadd.

In 4400 BBY, Tremayne was approached by Nadd on the outskirts of Ossus City after the apprentice stormed out of the ceremony in which he had been denied the promotion to Jedi Knighthood. Ignoring him for a time while in the midst of practicing lightsaber cadences, Tremayne finally acknowledged Nadd as he prepared to depart in a furious rage. A heated argument ensued between them in which the impetuous young man declared himself a full-fledged Jedi, and Tremayne challenged Nadd to prove the validity of his claim—with the activation of her lightsaber. Her apprentice responded in kind, and the two engaged in a lightsaber duel, one that ended when Tremayne was struck down and slain. Freedon Nadd fell to the dark side of the Force as a result and eventually became one of the most influential Dark Lords of the Sith of all time. (Read more…)

Modon Kira

Modon Kira was a Human male native of the planet Onderon and a respected and powerful Beast-Lord on his homeworld during the final years of the war between the Onderonian Beast Riders and the military of the walled city of Iziz. Modon was the son of Drokko Kira and in turn had a son, Oron Kira, who fell in love with Princess Galia, heiress to the throne of Iziz. The two arranged to be married at Fortress Kira, Modon Kira's forest stronghold, and the Beast-Lord attended their binding ceremony. The union was subsequently interrupted by the entrance of three Jedi Knights—brothers Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma, and the Twi'lek Tott Doneeta—who had been sent by Galia's mother, Queen Amanoa, to retrieve the princess. Instead, Kira convinced the Jedi to join his side, and they embarked on a peace mission to convince Amanoa to end the war.

The peace mission failed, however, and Modon Kira was forced to lead his Beast Rider army against Iziz in a climactic battle. Although the Beast Riders took the upper hand, Amanoa turned the tide of the battle by invoking the power of the dark side against Kira's army. The momentum shifted, and Kira's forces were put on the defensive. The Beast Riders regained the advantage, however, when Jedi Master Arca Jeth arrived and employed his skill with battle meditation, which proved to be the deciding factor. After the battle, Modon's son, Oron, and Galia were married under the laws of the Galactic Republic, officially unifying the two warring civilizations of Onderon. (Read more…)

Relin Druur

Relin Druur was a male Human Jedi Master active around 5000 BBY. After his first Padawan, the Kaleesh Saes Rrogon, turned to the dark side, Druur and his second apprentice, Drev Hassin, began tracking Rrogon. They discovered that Rrogon had become a Lord in the Sith Empire and tracked him to the Phaegon system, where he was mining the dark side ore Lignan. The Jedi ambushed Rrogon with the purpose of disabling his ship, the Harbinger, to prevent the ore from being delivered to the Sith fleet. Druur fought with Rrogon aboard the Harbinger, losing his arm in the duel before charges that he had placed on the hyperdrive exploded, damaging the hyperdrive and incapacitating the Sith Lord. Druur fled to an escape pod, but Hassin, in the Jedi's Infiltrator starfighter, saw that the Harbinger was still preparing to jump into hyperspace and sacrificed himself, flying the Infiltrator into the Harbinger's bridge in hopes of preventing it from escaping the system. Druur attempted to flee in the escape pod, but the Harbinger continued its jump sequence, pulling Druur's pod along with it as it failed to fully enter its hyperlane and traveled through time to 41.5 ABY.

Druur, finding himself in a foreign system, flew his escape pod to a freighter of a make he had never seen. He entered the ship, the Junker, where he met Jedi Knight Jaden Korr and the ship's pilot, Khedryn Faal. Korr revealed to Druur that the Sith Empire had been defeated millennia ago and concluded that he must have traveled through time during the Harbinger's misjump. After they evaded two squadrons of starfighters deployed by Rrogon to destroy the Junker, Korr continued his own task with the assistance of Faal, while Druur and Marr Idi-Shael, Faal's first mate, embarked on a mission to destroy the Lignan aboard the Harbinger. After Idi-Shael helped Druur to fight off a wave of Massassi warriors, Druur convinced him to flee the ship. Druur then fully embraced the dark side and found the Lignan in the Harbinger's cargo hold, where he was confronted by Rrogon. The two engaged in a duel of Force powers, and Rrogon soon gained the upper hand. Druur, however, used his despair at his failures in life to draw on the power of the Lignan, defeating Rrogon and killing him with the Sith Lord's own lightsaber. Druur then continued to consume as much of the Lignan's power as he could and unleashed it upon the Harbinger; engulfing the ship in flames and destroying it even as he died. (Read more…)

Lightside Explorer

The Lightside Explorer was the personal Vaya-class scout ship of Jedi Knight Andur Sunrider in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Having bought the ship from a Vultan starship dealer sometime before 3999 BBY, Sunrider used the ship for Jedi business across the galaxy. In 3999 BBY, he and his family, along with their droid, A-3DO, went on a journey to deliver a shipment of valuable Adegan crystals to the reclusive Tchuukthai Jedi Master Thon. However, Sunrider was killed by a group of thugs who were seeking the crystals, forcing his wife, Nomi Sunrider, to take possession of the Lightside Explorer and complete the delivery. Nomi eventually landed the ship on the desolate planet of Ambria, where Thon resided, and delivered the crystals. However, the thugs were still in pursuit and attacked the Lightside Explorer in the mistaken belief that the crystals were still aboard. Marauder Starjacker

The Marauder Starjacker was a modified E-2 asteroid mining vehicle captained by pirate Finhead Stonebone in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Originally an ordinary mining ship, the Starjacker and its sister ship, the Stenness Raider, were captured some time before 3999 BBY by Stonebone's pirate gang and modified extensively to make them more suitable for ore raiding. In 3999 BBY the Marauder Starjacker was involved in an attempted attack on an ore hauler commanded by the Nessie captain Gruna. The Marauder Starjacker destroyed the hauler's defenses and began to siphon the ship's valuable mutonium ore, only to be captured by the Enforcer One, the dreadnaught flagship of local crime lord Bogga the Hutt, who was protecting the ore hauler. The captured pirates were brought before Bogga on Vo Dasha, where Bogga enlisted Stonebone to go to the desolate planet of Ambria in order to retrieve a lost shipment of Adegan crystals from Bogga's sworn enemy, Jedi Master Thon. Stonebone, along with a gang of pirates and Hutt enforcers, went to Ambria in the Marauder Starjacker; however, they were defeated by Thon and his Jedi trainee, Nomi Sunrider. Read more... Noab Hulis

Noab Hulis was a male Miraluka Jedi who served the Order in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. He sired three daughters, each of whom would go on to serve the Jedi Order themselves. Hearing of the Jedi Chamma, who had become a Dark Jedi and gone into self-imposed exile for over a century after having felt that the Force had betrayed him, Hulis set about attempting to bring Chamma back to both the light side of the Force and the Jedi Order. Seeking out the former Jedi on H'ratth, the Miraluka at first found it exceedingly difficult to get through to Chamma. Eventually Hulis was able to relay Chamma's own story to him, evoking century-old memories. Hulis remonstrated that Chamma had not been betrayed by the Force, but rather that he had betrayed it, and so the former Jedi returned to the Order, going on to become a significant Jedi Master himself.

Hulis also made connections with wealthy members of the galactic nobility, such as Barrison Draay and Alok Adasca. Draay in particular was of interest to Hulis, as he was a Force-sensitive. The Miralukan paved the way for Draay's rapid progression through the Jedi ranks, as he was trained by Jedi Master Arca Jeth on Arkania. Draay also grew close to one of Hulis's daughters, Krynda, who had been trained by Master Vodo-Siosk Baas. Hulis went on to see both Draay and Krynda knighted on Arkania by Master Jeth—the two would later marry, and Krynda gave birth to Hulis's grandchild, Lucien. The Great Sith War, however, would take its toll on the family, as both the lives of Draay and one of Hulis's daughters were claimed in the conflict. (Read more…)

The Dark Lords of the Sith

In 3998 BBY, the Museum of Dark Side Antiquities on Coruscant organized a presentation for display to the public entitled The Dark Lords of the Sith. Located within the Museum's Sith Hall, the exhibit was dedicated exclusively to the history of the ancient Sith Empire and its rulers, the Dark Lords of the eponymous Sith species.

In the same year of its inception, The Dark Lords of the Sith exhibit was patronized by Aleema and Satal Keto, two socialite cousins native to the Empress Teta system. Despite the insignificance of the exhibit's artifacts as purported by the museum curator, the Ketos' interest in dark side–oriented objects led them to steal an ancient Sith spellbook from a display. With the knowledge they gained from its contents, Aleema and Satal became influential in the resurgence of the actual Dark Lords of the Sith, for whom the museum exhibit was named. (Read more…)

Novar

Novar was an Onderonian politician and Sith initiate in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Born into one of the wealthiest families in the Onderonian capital city of Iziz, Novar quickly became a high-ranking member of the Onderonian government after graduating from Ov Taraba university. He mastered the tactics of Onderonian ministers, and eventually formulated a scheme to eliminate his superior, Tolo Kad. Novar framed Kad for failing to plan a dinner party that the Onderonian monarchs, King Ommin and Queen Amanoa, were to attend. His plan went off perfectly, prompting an enraged Ommin to destroy Tolo Kad with the dark side of the Force. Ommin's display of power fascinated the Force-sensitive Novar, who manipulated the King into training him to harness dark side, and Novar eventually became a minor Sith wizard. When Ommin and Amanoa formed a Sith cult worshiping the deceased Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd, Novar was given a high position in the cult's hierarchy.

In 4000 BBY, a group of three Jedi Knights, consisting of brothers Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma, and Twi'lek Tott Doneeta, arrived on Onderon on a mission to broker peace in the long-running Beast Wars between Iziz and the Beast riding outcasts. Novar welcomed the Jedi, bringing them before Queen Amanoa in the Iziz Royal Palace. However, a group of Beast Riders attacked the palace and absconded with Princess Galia. The Jedi were sent to retrieve her, but returned at the helm of a Beast Rider army, as they had discovered the presence of the dark side in the Onderonian monarchy. Novar fought in the ensuing battle, even shooting off one of Cay Qel-Droma's arms with his blaster. Nevertheless, the Beast Riders were victorious, and although Queen Amanoa was killed in the battle, Novar was able to escape. He eventually returned into the service of King Ommin. In 3998 BBY, Novar and Ommin were visited by Satal and Aleema Keto, heirs to the throne of the Empress Teta system. The Ketos brought with them a Sith spellbook, which Ommin gave to Novar for translation. Soon afterward Ommin's subterranean lair was attacked by a team of Jedi, and Novar was killed in the skirmish. Keto

Lord Keto was a Human male, who was the ruler of the Empress Teta system with his sister Magda Keto in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Keto had a son named Satal who, along with Magda's daughter Aleema, was the heir to the throne of the system. Keto shared his dominion over the system with the commercial interests that operated carbonite mines within the Empress Teta system, and he cut many back-room deals with the mining executives. Keto's indifference toward his heirs, however, drove them to form a darksider cult called the Krath. In 3997 BBY, Satal and Aleema decided to use dark side Sith magic to overthrow Lord Keto and his sister. The Krath struck while Keto and his sister were on an inspection tour on one of the orbiting carbonite smelters over the planet Empress Teta. While Keto ordered his Royal Protectors into action, they were decimated by Satal and Aleema's magic. With no one left to defend him, Keto was captured by the insurgent heirs and was frozen in carbonite along with his sister Magda, killing him. His carbon-frozen body was put on display as a decoration on the walls of the Iron Citadel, his old palace–turned–headquarters of Satal and Aleema in Empress Teta's capital city of Cinnagar. Sindra

Sindra was a female Sith apprentice who lived in the days prior to the end of the Great Sith War. She was the twin sister of Xash, with whom she shared tutelage under the Sith sorcerer Thannor Keth. Alongside her brother, Sindra accompanied their master to the planet Vigil in pursuit of the Force-sensitive girl known as Nova. Their ship crash-landed, at which time Sindra and Xash were sent to capture the girl. They came upon a Jedi named Lian Dray who resided on Vigil and had since become the girl's custodian. When Dray refused to turn her over, Sindra allowed her brother to engage the Jedi in lightsaber combat. She intervened after Xash lost his weapon hand and seriously injured Dray in the midst of their duel. She taunted Dray after knocking him to the ground, a move that enraged the Jedi. The tide of battle turned against Sindra as Dray then called upon the dark side of the Force to defeat her, but she was saved by the intervention of her brother. Sindra then employed the dark side to render Dray helpless but was overpowered when he blasted her with Force lightning. After killing Xash, Dray also killed Sindra with a stroke of his lightsaber. Ravilan

Ravilan, nicknamed Rav by Captain Yaru Korsin and the "crimson man" by the Keshiri, was a male of the Sith species. He served as the quartermaster and keeper of the Massassi warrior contingent aboard Omen, a Sith dreadnaught that was intended to participate in the Great Hyperspace War effort led by the Dark Lord Naga Sadow. When the starship crash-landed on the planet Kesh after a collision with its sister ship, Harbinger, Ravilan was among the survivors. The Massassi who had survived the crash and remained under Ravilan's care began to die rapidly upon exposure to the planet's atmosphere. When the Massassi were all dead, Ravilan was left without his title of quartermaster. After meeting with a native woman named Adari Vaal, the Sith were brought into contact with the Keshiri people. Using their appearance, technology, and power in the dark side of the Force, Ravilan and the other Sith quickly subjugated the native people, who believed them to be the Skyborn deities of Keshiri legend.

Fifteen years later, Ravilan occupied a series of jobs for Yaru, who had become the Grand Lord of the Sith Tribe on Kesh, including that of spokesperson of the Fifty-seven Red Sith of Sith species descent. Since their arrival on the planet, none of the Red Sith offspring had survived past their first day, leading to concerns about their continued existence on the planet, and more pressure for the Red Sith to get off-world. In a last attempt to focus efforts on getting off-world, Ravilan and the Fifty-seven purposefully caused a plague in the village Tetsubal on the Ragnos Lakes. This killed all of the Keshiri there, and crisis broke out amongst the Sith after they found a Human among the victims. The situation worsened as reports of deaths in other villages around the Ragnos Lakes filtered in. Although Ravilan himself was secretly behind the deaths in Tetsubal, the outbreaks elsewhere had been the design of Yaru's wife, Seelah Korsin, who had learned of Ravilan's duplicity and sought to frame him and his people to rid herself of them once and for all. To this end, she convinced Yaru to authorize a purge of every Red Sith on Kesh—which included Ravilan. Being the spokesperson of his fellow Fifty-seven Red Sith, Ravilan was captured and subsequently tortured by Seelah, who revealed her role in the event and her part behind the deaths of all of the Red Sith children. The life of the last Red Sith on Kesh was then ended as Seelah's son, Jariad Korsin, struck him down on Seelah's orders. (Read more…)

Korus

Korus was a Human male citizen of the Empress Teta system who served as the royal tutor of Satal and Aleema Keto, heirs to the Tetan throne. Continually berated by the young Ketos, Korus acted as a spy for Satal's father, Lord Keto, secretly reporting on the activities of his son and niece. When Korus' eavesdropping was discovered by Satal and Aleema, who had since formed a Sith cult known as the Krath, they used their newfound dark side powers to replace his tongue with an Adegan eel.

In 3997 BBY, a mutilated Korus accompanied the Krath when they stormed the carbonite smelter that orbited Empress Teta and proclaimed themselves the new rulers of the Tetan worlds. He was then forced to reveal his oral deformity before falling comatose and was the only Tetan official to survive the ensuing massacre. Korus was later made to serve the Krath, who had also maimed him further by sewing his mouth closed. After an innocent mistake that resulted in the soiling of Aleema's gown, Korus was killed—burned alive with Sith magic. (Read more…)

Traditionally, Sith magic, also known as Sith sorcery, was an arcane expression of Force ability first developed and practiced by the original Sith species through which they manipulated the power of the dark side. The very name of the Sith was adopted by the Dark Jedi Exiles of the Hundred-Year Darkness, who combined Sith mysticism with their own experiments into dark side power to create even more strange rituals and alchemical sciences. Sith magic, while as much a part of the dark side as endowments like Force lightning, was accessible only to those Force-sensitives who possessed an intrinsic relationship with the dark side. Through the recitation of spells, execution of hand gestures, and or the handling of various artifacts, darksiders were able to channel the raw power of the Force's malignant side to warp minds, alter the environment, and obliterate whatever obstacles stood in their way. Males who achieved mastery were known as Sith sorcerers, mages, magicians, or wizards, while females who practiced Sith sorcery were referred to as Sith sorceresses or witches.

Sith magic was prevalent among the citizens of the ancient Sith Empire, and its disciplines were adhered to throughout the span of galactic history, predating even the inception of the longstanding Galactic Republic. Its effectiveness in battle was realized during the Great Hyperspace War of 5000 BBY, up to and beyond the Great Sith War a thousand years later. Proponents of Sith magic revived its practice briefly during the New Sith Wars, but it became something of an oddity following the reformation of the Republic in 1000 BBY. By then, a lone Sith apprentice was its only active student. Still, the allure of Sith magic survived through the fall of the Republic in 19 BBY and the subsequent Galactic Civil War, and curious Force-sensitives learned to harness its power from obscure temples on long-forgotten planets and moons. Freedon Nadd

Freedon Nadd was an Old Republic Jedi prodigy whose conscious decision to embrace the dark side of the Force had a significant impact on galactic events for many generations after his death. Nadd's career began as a student in training on the planet Ossus, but a lust for greater power caused him to slay his Master, Matta Tremayne, and renounce his affiliation with the Jedi Order. He fled Ossus and made his way to the heart of the old Sith Empire, where he gained an enormous wealth of dark side knowledge. He eventually followed the Force to the jungle moon of Yavin 4, where he found and apprenticed himself to the ancient Dark Lord Naga Sadow. Sadow trained Nadd in the Sith arts, and led the young Jedi even further down the dark path. When he determined that he had learned all his Sith Master had to offer, Nadd used his newfound powers to destroy Sadow and left Yavin 4 behind in search of a world to conquer as his own. He proclaimed himself Dark Lord of the Sith, and used his sorcerous powers to subjugate the world of Onderon, where he ruled as king from the capital of Iziz for more than a hundred years until his physical demise. His body was entombed below the royal palace of Iziz, which became a focal point of Sith power. Nadd's spirit lingered in the tomb, from whence it taught the descendants of his bloodline and further steeped Onderon in the miasma that was the dark side of the Force.

By 4000 BBY, the exaltation of Freedon Nadd's memory was the catalyst for the final battle of the centuries-spanning Beast Wars of Onderon, a conflict that arose between the citizens of Iziz who worshiped the deceased Dark Lord and those who had been cast out for their refusal to pledge allegiance to the Sith. A team of Jedi Knights led by Arkanian Master Arca Jeth came to Onderon, ended the battle, and brought a temporary halt to Nadd's influence over the planet with the defeat of Queen Amanoa. However, Amanoa's husband, King Ommin, reasserted Sith influence over the planet when he summoned Freedon Nadd's spirit from Chaos. The restored Naddist cult then rose up in arms and stole the Dark Lord's sarcophagus in a surprise attack during Amanoa's funeral. Nadd revealed himself to the Jedi and participated in the capture of Arca Jeth, who was ultimately rescued by the Jedi after the defeat of King Ommin during the final stages of the Naddist insurrection. Conceding failure, Nadd abandoned Ommin to the mercy of the Jedi, and his spirit was forever banished from Onderon by the power of Arca Jeth. Prior to his departure, however, Nadd happened upon Tetan socialites Aleema and Satal Keto—who had come to Onderon in search of dark side knowledge—and chose to pass the Sith teachings on to them. While Nadd's tomb was relocated to Onderon's jungle moon by the Jedi, his spirit appeared to one of them, Ulic Qel-Droma, and foretold the young Knight's destiny as a Lord of the Sith.

For months Freedon Nadd trained the Ketos in Sith magic, but his interests shifted when Exar Kun, a powerful fallen Jedi with dark side curiosities, stirred the Dark Lord's spirit from within his lunar grave. Nadd guided Kun to the ancient Sith homeworld of Korriban where, through a series of trials designed to test his resolve, he decided that Exar Kun was worthy of Sith apprenticeship. Nadd then led Kun to the ancient dwellings of his own Sith Master on Yavin 4 and was pleased when Kun wholeheartedly embraced the Sith after he defeated an enormous Sith wyrm and subjugated the native Massassi warriors. Finally convinced that his apprentice had become one with the dark side, Nadd revealed his need for Exar Kun to create a physical body for him through alchemical means, that he might once again command the power of the Force. Kun, however, refused to entertain Nadd any longer, and in that moment betrayed him. His apprentice's strength tremendously amplified by a Sith amulet, Nadd was attacked by Kun with a potent blast of Force energy that mortally wounded the Sith spirit. Consigned to oblivion for a second time, Nadd contacted the Ketos in his final act and warned them of the threat that Exar Kun posed. He then declared that, along with Ulic Qel-Droma, the future of the Sith rested with Satal and Aleema, before fading into Chaos and dying a second death. (Read more…)

Shayoto

Shayoto was a Human male Jedi Master active in the Jedi Order in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Born some time before the year 4800 BBY, Shayoto was trained in the Jedi way by a long-lived Jedi Master, who in turn had a Master who lived for thousands of years. Shayoto was also instructed by his Master's Master, who taught him about events such as the Hundred-Year Darkness and the Great Hyperspace War, and about the modus operandi of the followers of the dark side. After completing his Jedi training and rising to the level of Jedi Master, Shayoto lived through the Gank Massacres in 4,800 BBY and the Vultar Cataclysm in 4250 BBY. By 3997 BBY, the Jedi Master had lived for more than 800 years. That same year, Shayoto attended the Conclave on Deneba, a Jedi meeting on the Mid Rim planet of Deneba meant to address the recent threat posed by the Empress Teta-based dark side organization known as the Krath. The aging Jedi Master made himself heard during the Conclave, sharing his knowledge of the workings of darksiders. During a recess, the Jedi gathered on Deneba's Mount Meru were attacked by Krath war droids. However, the assembled Jedi were able to fight the droid army off. (Read more…)

Zythmnr

Zythmnr was a male Massassi temple priest who lived on the moon of Yavin 4 in the years leading up to the Great Sith War. Zythmnr belonged to a Massassi tribe that was descended from the followers of deceased Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow, who came to Yavin 4 in 5000 BBY. After attaining a position of authority in his tribe, Zythmnr withdrew, spending twelve years in solitude. The Massassi priest emerged in 3997 BBY, when fallen Jedi Knight Exar Kun was knocked unconscious in a fight with Massassi guards in a Yavin 4 forest. Believing that Kun was someone whom they had been waiting for, Zythmnr brought a bound Kun to the structure known as the Temple of Fire, and summoned an ancient Sith wyrm to test the former Jedi's power. Taking possession of Zythmnr's powerful Sith amulets, Kun defeated the Sithspawn, winning the allegiance of Zythmnr and the other Massassi. Kun eventually learned the secrets of Sadow's Sith alchemy, discovering how to change a sentient being into a vessel of the dark side. Zythmnr was the first to volunteer for the procedure, which successfully transformed him into a Force-sensitive manifestation of the dark side. (Read more…)

Muza

The Muza were a sentient species native to the planet Muzara, in the Expansion Region. The Muza were large, strong beings with massive overbites and scoop-like teeth. Their forearms were highly muscular. They descended from ruminants and established themselves as the dominant lifeform on their homeworld through the extermination of all large predators there. The species' religious beliefs revered certain areas of their world as sacred and shunned others as unholy. The ruins of Kabus-Dabeh, for instance, were regarded as the former home of an ancient and evil people. As nomadic clansmen, the Muza had no sense of individual property or territory.

In 4000 BBY, Humans from the Brentaal League colonized Muzara and established farms, which angered the Muza. As the dispute between the two species reached the cusp of outright war, a Human Jedi Knight named Keval Raffaan arrived on Muzara and offered to negotiate a peace. The Muza agreed to allow him to attempt to do so—provided he prove his mettle by retrieving a skuhm-hide bag from the ruins of Kabus-Dabeh. The Jedi passed this test, and the Muza honored the truce he negotiated between them and the settlers. Other Jedi helped the Muza overcome a predatory creature that had snatched up members of their species and a group of Dark Jedi who sought to overrun Muzara with a Sith artifact hidden in the Kabus-Dabeh ruins. Netus

Netus was a Human male politician who served in the Galactic Republic government during the Great Sith War. After a five-year term in the Republic rocket-jumper corps, Netus devoted his life to politics, successfully running for a position within the Galactic Senate. By 3998 BBY, he had been appointed to the Republic's lofty position of Minister of Defense. That year, Netus received a message from Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma, who had requested military aid in a struggle with the Naddist Sith cult on Onderon. Netus called for a meeting of the Defense Committee to determine whether or not to send in their forces, and the group was swayed into action after a speech by Jedi Master Thon. Two years later, Netus and the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic met with a group of Jedi headed by Master Vodo-Siosk Baas on Coruscant to discuss recent raids on Republic shipyards. After it was discovered that Ulic Qel-Droma was behind the attacks, a fleet led by Qel-Droma attacked the Republic capital. Although most of the Republic Navy had been massed at Kemplex IX to defend against a raid that turned out to be a ruse, Netus and the Jedi were able to fight off the attack and capture Qel-Droma. Zona Luka

Zona Luka was a female Vultan Jedi Knight who was active during the Great Sith War. She was trained in the Jedi ways by the respected Jedi Master Dominus, who considered Luka his dearest student. In 3996 BBY, Luka and a group of fellow Knights were visited on the library-world of Ossus by the Jedi Exar Kun, who claimed to be the keeper of Force knowledge forbidden by the Jedi Masters. Intrigued, Luka and the other Jedi agreed to join Kun on a journey to reveal the lost secrets of the Force. They traveled in Kun's starship, Starstorm One, to the dark side–tainted moon of Yavin 4, and Luka and the others were led to the base of a large temple by Kun. There, Kun revealed his true intentions when he shattered a Sith holocron and released the dark side spirits trapped within, which possessed Luka and the other Jedi Knights. Kun, in reality the Dark Lord of the Sith, commanded Luka and the Jedi team—now subjects of the dark side—to kill their former Masters. Luka tracked Dominus to his home and struck him down after a brief lightsaber duel; however, the dying Dominus mustered enough strength to kill the Vultan Jedi through an exertion of the Force. Second Duel in the Iron Citadel

The Second Duel in the Iron Citadel was a lightsaber battle that occurred late in the year 3997 BBY between two fallen Jedi: the power-thirsty Exar Kun and the headstrong Ulic Qel-Droma. The duel took place in the Tetan capital city of Cinnagar, in the Iron Citadel of the dark side Krath cult. Qel-Droma, who had just recently engaged and killed the Krath leader Satal Keto, was given an ancient Sith amulet by Satal's cousin, Aleema, and was also taken as Aleema's joint partner in leadership of the Krath. Unbeknownst to them, a Dark Jedi named Exar Kun had learned of their existence from the spirit of Freedon Nadd, an ancient Dark Lord of the Sith, who had also given Kun an amulet for himself. Seeing the Krath as a potential hindrance to his vision of a new Sith Empire, Kun traveled to Empress Teta and touched down in the planet's capital city. Guided by the Force to their location, Kun stormed the Iron Citadel and confronted Qel-Droma.

What followed was a brief but heated duel, with neither combatant able to best the other. As they battled, however, the amulets in each man's possession reacted to one another and began to resonate with dark side energies. The energies in turn summoned the spirit of an ancient Dark Lord named Marka Ragnos, who ended the duel and, after a brief proclamation, bestowed upon Kun the title of Dark Lord of the Sith and named Qel-Droma his foremost Sith apprentice. Dathka Graush

Dathka Graush was a male Sith sorcerer who lived on the planet Korriban more than seven thousand years before the Battle of Yavin. Brutality and trepidation were the tools Graush used to defeat his enemies during one of Korriban's recurrent civil wars, the end of which saw him acclaimed king and overlord of his species. In the war's wake, Graush made use of both Sith magic and alchemy in the creation of an army of Korriban zombies, reanimated corpses bound to his will through the dark side of the Force. He also had his heart removed and replaced with a magical crystal that was imbued with the power of the Force's malevolent side. Graush's dynasty ultimately culminated with his death at the hands of assassins, and the Sith King was interred within Korriban's Valley of Golg.

Sometime between the destruction of the first Death Star and the Battle of Endor, the spirit of the long-dead Sith King was disturbed after millennia of slumber. Cronal, a dark side prophet formerly in the service of his Imperial Majesty Palpatine, forcefully sundered Graush's ghost from his Korriban grave and compelled the Sith King to reveal the most potent of his alchemical secrets. The knowledge Graush imparted to Cronal assisted the latter in the creation and manipulation of the electromagnetically-charged meltmassif crystals. (Read more…)

Oron Kira

Oron Kira was a Beast Rider leader and King of Onderon who played a pivotal part in his homeworld's history, reigning as monarch during the onset of the Great Sith War. A Human male, Kira grew up during the turbulent period known as the Beast Wars, when the Beast Riders, prisoners cast out of the Onderonian capital of Iziz, went to war with the great walled city. The son of Beast-Lord Modon Kira, Oron Kira secretly traveled in and out of Iziz for years, trading with the political underground. On one trip, he met the love of his life, Princess Galia, heiress to the Onderonian throne. Galia reciprocated Kira's feelings, but the circumstances of the war would never allow a Beast Rider and the Princess of Onderon to marry. Kira and Galia formulated a plan to circumvent their dilemma in 4000 BBY; Kira and a fellow Beast Rider, Gobee, would break into the Iziz Royal Palace and "kidnap" Galia, bringing her back to Kira's fortress beyond Iziz's borders so they could be wed. The plan went off without hitch, and their marriage soon began. However, the ceremony was interrupted by three Jedi Knights—Human brothers Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma, and Twi'lek Tott Doneeta—sent by Queen Amanoa to retrieve Galia. The Jedi nearly made off with the Princess, but, after she protested and professed her love for Kira, she was returned to her betrothed. Kira and his family then revealed the dark side corruption of the Onderonian monarchy to the Jedi and enlisted them in the campaign to end the Beast Wars once and for all.

After peace negotiations with Amanoa failed, Kira fought with a massive Beast Rider army in a final assault on Iziz. Although Amanoa's dark magic took a heavy toll on the Beast Riders, Kira's forces finally took Iziz, thanks to the battle meditation of newly-arrived Jedi Master Arca Jeth. Amanoa died at the end of the battle, and Kira became the new King of Onderon. As monarch, Kira soon faced another crisis, the Freedon Nadd Uprising, during which Sith cultists, led by former King Ommin, rose up and waged war on the new Onderonian regime. Although the Iziz Royal Palace was destroyed and Kira and Galia were briefly forced out of Iziz, they retook the city with help from the Jedi and put an end to the rebellion. Kira also fought in several more battles in the next few years; he lent his Beast Riders to Jedi forces in an engagement on Empress Teta in 3997 BBY, an attempt to retrieve Ulic Qel-Droma, who had begun to fall to the dark side, from the Krath cult on the planet. The next year, Kira and his fellow Beast Riders successfully defended Onderon from an army of Mandalorian invaders during the Great Sith War. Galia

Galia was a Human female and the Queen of the Inner Rim planet of Onderon during the era of the Great Sith War. Growing up under the pall of the dark side—both of her parents, King Ommin and Queen Amanoa, were Sith cultists—Galia lived during the turbulent period of Onderonian history known as the Beast Wars, when the government of the walled city of Iziz battled exiled criminals known as the Beast Riders who used drexl warbeasts as mounts. At some point, she met Beast Rider leader Oron Kira, and the two fell in love. Knowing that the Princess of Onderon and a Beast-Lord could never be together, they faked a kidnapping in 4000 BBY and went to Kira's fortress in the wilderness beyond Iziz's walls to be married. However, the ceremony was interrupted by three Jedi Knights—brothers Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma, and the Twi'lek Tott Doneeta—who were sent by Amanoa to retrieve her daughter. After telling the Jedi their story, Galia and Kira formulated a plan with the Knights to try to convince Amanoa to end the Beast Wars peacefully.

However, Amanoa rejected their overtures, and they were forced to enact their backup plan, in which a large Beast Rider army attacked Iziz. With the help of Jedi Master Arca Jeth, the Beast Riders were victorious in the final battle of the Beast Wars, with the Queen perishing at the conclusion of the fighting. Galia and Kira consecrated their marriage under the laws of the Galactic Republic and became the new monarchs of Onderon. However, their battles were not at an end, as two years later, Naddist cult members—like Galia's parents, worshipers of former Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd—led a rebellion against their rule. Although the darksiders briefly managed to drive Galia and Kira out of Iziz, the Naddists were ultimately defeated, and peace once again reigned on Onderon. In 3996 BBY, Galia and her husband faced another menace; a Mandalorian fleet attacked Onderon in one of the closing battles of the Great Sith War, but the Mandalorians were defeated. Nebulon Ranger

The Nebulon Ranger was a modified Crescent-X9 starship that belonged to Jedi Knight Cay Qel-Droma. Originally an ordinary space transport, the Ranger was modified extensively by Qel-Droma, who transformed it into what he considered a very trustworthy vessel. In 4000 BBY, Qel-Droma, his brother Ulic, and the Twi'lek Tott Doneeta were sent to the world of Onderon by Jedi Master Arca Jeth to bring peace to the long-lasting Beast Wars planetary conflict. After traveling across the galaxy to the Inner Rim world, the three Jedi were enlisted to retrieve Onderonian Queen Amanoa's kidnapped daughter. In the search for the missing Princess over the planet's forests, the Nebulon Ranger was shot down by a seeker-torpedo fired by the Beast Riders, a group of exiled dissidents fighting against Onderon's monarchy. The damage was reparable, however, and after discovering that Princess Galia had staged the kidnapping with the Beast Riders to escape the monarchy's use of the dark side, the Jedi joined the Beast Riders' side. The Ranger was repaired and flown back toward the capital city of Iziz with the intention of negotiating for peace. Although Amanoa rejected their overtures, she and her army were ultimately defeated in the final battle of the Beast Wars, during which the Nebulon Ranger saw minimal action.

The Nebulon Ranger experienced continued service over the next several years, including an errand to bring Vultan Jedi Oss Wilum to Onderon in 3998 BBY. The following year, the Ranger was involved in a mission to the planet Empress Teta. Ulic Qel-Droma had gone undercover in the Krath, a dark side sect that had taken control of the Empress Teta system. However, after worries that Qel-Droma was in too deep, the Ranger transported Cay Qel-Droma, Tott Doneeta, and fellow Jedi Nomi Sunrider to Empress Teta, where Sunrider descended in an escape pod, hoping that she could find a way to contact Ulic on the planet below. However, when she was forced to escape from a Krath prison, Cay and Doneeta swooped in on the Ranger, blasting attacking Krath soldiers and rescuing Sunrider. Despite their best efforts, Ulic ultimately refused to join them, and by 3996 BBY, had become a full-fledged Sith under the tutelage of Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun. Together they waged war against the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order, and after the Battle of Kemplex IX caused a supernova in the Cron Cluster; the shockwave from the nova headed directly toward the Jedi academy world of Ossus. During the scramble to salvage as much Jedi knowledge as possible before the shockwave hit, Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun descended upon Ossus in order to steal Jedi artifacts for their own purposes. Their arrival was noticed by Cay, who went up in the Nebulon Ranger in order to meet his brother. However, things escalated, and the Nebulon Ranger ended up getting shot down after a dogfight between the two brothers. Several hours later, the remains of the Ranger were destroyed by the shockwave. Cay's Dream

A ship, prior to being renamed Cay's Dream, served as the personal vessel of Sith Lord and former Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma during the Great Sith War. Qel-Droma began to use the ship after he fell to the dark side and became the apprentice of Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun in 3996 BBY. Together, Qel-Droma and Kun waged a war against the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. That year, after a supernova threatened to destroy the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, Qel-Droma and Kun traveled to the planet to steal as many Jedi artifacts as possible. When Qel-Droma arrived in his ship, he was greeted by his brother, Cay, a Jedi assisting in the planet's evacuation. When Cay, wanting an opportunity to talk things out with his brother, tried to shoot Ulic down, a dogfight ensued.

Ulic instead shot down his brother, landed his ship, and then killed Cay in a lightsaber duel. As a result, Ulic, horrified at what he had done, was stripped of his connection to the Force by his former Jedi friends. Qel-Droma offered to bring the Jedi to Kun on the moon Yavin 4, and he subsequently guided a massive Jedi fleet to Yavin 4 in his ship. After a turn of events in which Kun used Sith magic to shed his body and a fire engulfed the Yavin 4 forests, the Jedi assault force departed. Qel-Droma continued to use the ship after the war, giving it the name Cay's Dream after his dead brother. In 3994 BBY, he returned to Yavin 4 in Cay's Dream to discover what exactly had happened that fateful day, though he found nothing. (Read more…)

Starstorm One

Starstorm One was the personal starship of Jedi Knight, and later Dark Lord of the Sith, Exar Kun during the period of the Great Sith War. A curious young man who was fascinated by the ancient powers of the Sith, Kun set out in Starstorm One on a quest to learn forbidden secrets in 3997 BBY. His search led him and Starstorm One to Onderon, where he found two dark side cultists to guide him to the tomb of the dead Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd. The cultists, Nebo and Rask, traveled aboard Starstorm One and directed him to the tomb, where Kun found two Sith scrolls that gave him directions to the Sith homeworld, Korriban. Kun flew the ship to the lost planet, where the spirit of Nadd converted Kun to the dark side.

Nadd directed Kun to fly Starstorm One to the moon of Yavin 4 to continue his Sith training at the place where Dark Lord Naga Sadow had experimented in Sith alchemy a thousand years before. Upon landing on Yavin 4, Starstorm One was destroyed by primitive Massassi warriors, the descendants of Sadow's followers. At some point over the next year, the ship was repaired, however; by that time Kun was a full-fledged Dark Lord of the Sith and had launched a war against the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. Starstorm One returned to Kun's service and flew a group of Jedi Knights from Ossus to Yavin 4, where they were converted to the dark side by Kun. Later that year, after a supernova prompted an evacuation of Ossus and its Great Jedi Library, Starstorm One was used to transport as many stolen Jedi artifacts as Kun's ship was able to carry. He returned on Starstorm One once more to Yavin 4, where he used Sith magic to shed his mortal body to flee Jedi pursuers. (Read more…)

Spirit protector

For more than a thousand years, the malevolent spirit of a long-dead Sith Master served as the protector of an ancient spellbook forgotten within a hidden armory of dark side lore deep in the jungles of the planet Onderon. Several years before the Great Sith War, the book over which the spirit protector maintained stewardship was discovered by a young blacksmith named Shas Dovos. The Sith specter corrupted Dovos and taught its unsuspecting apprentice for more than a decade until finally, under the Master's secret guidance, the blacksmith created a suit of armor imbued with Sith magic. The spirit then revealed itself and its true plan to restore the lost glory of the Sith Empire. Corsair

The Corsair was a Derriphan-class battleship that played a major role in two galactic wars a millennium apart. A Sith vessel, the Corsair contained Force-enhancing Sith magic crystals of immense power that were able to tear out the core of a star. The Corsair was initially one of the flagships of Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow's Sith invasion fleet during the Great Hyperspace War in 5000 BBY. After the war's tide turned against the Sith, Sadow used the Corsair to flee Galactic Republic space, using the power of the ship to cause solar flare activity in the star Primus Goluud as cover for the retreat to the Sith Worlds in the Outer Rim. There, the Corsair saw heavy action in two consecutive battles, the first against a group of Sith rivals and the second against pursuing Republic forces. To avoid defeat in the second battle, Sadow used the remaining ships in his fleet as a barricade and fled the scene in the Corsair. Flying through the twin stars of the Denarii Nova, Sadow used the ship's power to destroy any pursuers. He then settled with his Massassi crew on the moon Yavin 4, building a temple around the Corsair, where it remained entombed for a millennium.

In 3997 BBY, the Corsair was discovered by Exar Kun, a newly ascended Dark Lord of the Sith. With the Corsair under his control, Kun struck up an alliance with Jedi Knight Ulic Qel-Droma to wage war against the Republic and the Jedi Order. The Corsair was the vessel that flew to the Republic capital of Coruscant and retrieved Qel-Droma after his arrest and trial for a failed attack on the planet. After the treachery of Qel-Droma's lover, Aleema Keto, was discovered following his rescue, Kun and Qel-Droma formulated a plan to rid themselves of both her and the bumbling Cathar commander Crado. Command of the Corsair was given to Keto and Crado, and they were directed to lead an attack on the space station Kemplex IX to lure Republic forces there. After successfully drawing Republic attention, Keto used the Corsair's power to rip the core out of a star in the Cron Cluster and use it as a weapon, obliterating their enemies. However, she found herself unable to control the ship's power; a chain reaction caused a supernova in the cluster, which destroyed the Corsair, all according to Kun and Qel-Droma's plan. Shikkar

Shikkars were intricate, Force-crafted daggers made out of glass that were created by the Lost Tribe of Sith on the planet Kesh. Shikkars had long, elegant blades and were prized amongst the Sith for their artistic value as well as their role as weapons. They were made for one single usage—after a shikkar was used to stab someone, the hilt was broken off, leaving the blade embedded in the victim's body. The weapons were crafted and employed often by members of three rival glass-crafting guilds on Kesh. Tura Sanga was famous among the Sith Tribe for crafting shikkars.

The Sith arrived on Kesh in 5000 BBY, and the first shikkars were created within the next fifteen years. The Sith Seelah Korsin owned a shikkar that had been made by Kesh's native Keshiri. By 3960 BBY, the weapons were often used by Sith in the Tribe to assassinate rivals. Millennia later, the weapons were still prominent—in 43.5 ABY, several members of the Sith strike team sent to kill Jedi Luke Skywalker carried shikkars, including Sith apprentice Vestara Khai and her Master, Lady Olaris Rhea. In 44 ABY, Khai's father, Gavar, presented Vestara with a shikkar from his personal collection in the hope that she would one day use it to kill either Skywalker or his son, Ben. Later that year, several shikkars were specially crafted for the celebration that marked the Tribe's alliance with the dark side entity Abeloth.

XoXaan

XoXaan was a humanoid female who, along with eleven other Jedi defectors, became the first Lords of the Sith. As Marchioness of the Dark Jedi's Black Legions, XoXaan fought in the cataclysmic Hundred-Year Darkness war, but was defeated and exiled from the Jedi Order following a rout on the world of Corbos in 6900 BBY. Guilty of high treason, XoXaan was one of twelve Dark Jedi who were banished from the Galactic Republic only to discover the planet Korriban, where they found and enslaved the aboriginal Sith species. Christened as the first of the Sith Lords, XoXaan and her contemporaries instituted a religion that centered around worship and practice of the dark side of the Force, and ruled their new Sith Empire as part of the Sith Council under the Dark Lord of the Sith, Ajunta Pall.

Although other Sith Lords possessed similar talents, XoXaan was noted among her peers for her skills in dark side healing. She recorded her knowledge in a holocron, which was entombed with her in Korriban's Valley of the Dark Lords. Her spirit waited millennia for an individual whom she felt was worthy of her Sith teachings, and it found one such student in the ex-Jedi A'Sharad Hett around 17 BBY. From XoXaan's spirit and holocron, Hett learned the ways of the dark side and eventually assumed the mantle of Dark Lord under the moniker Darth Krayt, creating a new Sith Order. After his Sith conquered the planet Coruscant in 130 ABY, Krayt erected a massive statue within the Temple of the Sith there in reverence of XoXaan—who was considered his first and greatest Sith teacher. Aarrba's Repair Dock

Aarrba's Repair Dock, also known as Aarrba's Repair and Salvage, Aarrba the Hutt's docking bay and spacecraft repair, and Aarrba the Hutt's service dock, was a business operating on the planet Koros Major in 5000 BBY. Owned by Aarrba, it offered cheap and quick starship repair and salvage services out of a building in the city Cinnagar. During the Koros system's Unification Wars, the dock effected repairs on the Shadow Runner, the ship of the supply runners Hok and Timar Daragon. When the pair subsequently perished, Aarrba released the Starbreaker 12, the Daragon's other starship that he had held in the dock as collateral, to their children, Gav and Jori Daragon. They used the ship to become hyperspace explorers, but bad luck later forced them into debt to Aarrba over repairs made to the spacecraft.

After the Daragons returned from yet another unsuccessful exploration trip, Aarrba refused to release the Starbreaker 12, once again held at his dock, until the pair paid for the ship's repairs. Soon enough, however, desperation drove the young explorers to steal the vessel from the repair bay and make a blind hyperspace jump that deposited them in the distant Sith Empire. Jori eventually returned alone to the Koros system but was soon followed by a Sith invasion fleet, of which Gav had been appointed commander.

Aarrba's Repair Dock was damaged during the subsequent attack on Koros Major as part of the Sith Empire's invasion of the Galactic Republic. Jori rushed to the repair bay in order to obtain a starship that she could pilot in battle, while Gav, accompanied by Massassi soldiers, also visited the dock to find his sister. When he met Aarrba, however, the dock owner fiercely denounced Gav, leading one of the Massassi to kill him. Arriving at the dock shortly thereafter, the shocked Jori used a Jedi lightsaber to cut down Gav's soldiers and then hijacked a nearby ship to pursue her similarly shocked brother, who was fleeing the scene. Following the Republic victory over the Sith Empire, which also saw the death of Gav, Empress Teta of the Koros system helped Jori reopen Aarrba's Repair Dock under the latter's management. Jori Daragon's amulet

Jori Daragon's amulet was an artifact created in the Sith Empire at some point by 5000 BBY. Shaped like an ornamental gauntlet, it had a connection to another similar amulet. When the hyperspace scouts Gav and Jori Daragon arrived in the empire from Galactic Republic space in 5000 BBY, the Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow planned to use the imprisoned siblings in his plot to expand the empire through conquest of the Republic. Keeping the Daragons separated from each other, Sadow allowed Gav, whom he had been training in the use of Sith magic, to record an inspirational message for Jori on his amulet's counterpart, which the Dark Lord then delivered to Jori. After she had viewed the message, Sadow further returned to Jori the Daragons' impounded starship, the Starbreaker 12. Sadow's manipulations eventually led to Jori being forced to depart for the Republic without Gav, with the amulet serving her as a reminder of her brother.

After arriving in the Republic's Koros system, Daragon eventually managed to reach the system's empress, Teta, and warn her and a pair of Jedi who were present of the danger posed by the Sith Empire, showing the amulet as physical evidence of her account. Soon thereafter, the empire indeed launched an invasion of the Republic, during which Gav, who had been appointed the commander of the Sith fleet, used the coupling between the two amulets in an attempt to find Jori on the planet Koros Major. Upon experiencing remorse over his affiliation with Sadow, however, Gav then traveled to the Primus Goluud system to confront the Dark Lord, but Sadow trapped him in a crippled ship and caused a nearby star to undergo a supernova. At that point, Jori, who had followed Gav, once again found herself peering at her amulet as she was forced to abandon her brother to his death. More than a millennium later, the Jedi Covenant Shadow Celeste Morne retrieved Daragon's amulet on one of her assignments for the Covenant. (Read more…)

Voon/Legends

Voon was a Core Worlds planet. A part of the Krenher sector, it was situated on the Hyabb-Twith Corridor hyperlane, a zone long embroiled in a conflict between the worlds Hyabb and Twith. Decades before 4050 BBY, the Nelori Marauders established their main base on Voon. The planet's location in the contested area allowed the Nelori to carry out raids against starships and worlds both along the Corridor and in the nearby star systems without any fear of pursuit or reprisal.

Eventually, the Jedi Order dispatched a task force of Jedi Knights to eliminate the threat posed by the Nelori Marauders. A small group of Jedi pursued the Marauders to Voon, where the former severely damaged the Nelori fleet before being repulsed by a counter-attack by Marauder reinforcements. Another larger group of Jedi soon arrived on the planet in specially modified stealth transports. However, when the Jedi infiltrated the fortress used by the Nelori as their base, they could find no trace of the bandits.

The Arkanian-Sephi Jedi Arca Jeth then used the Force to detect signs of life below the fortress in the subterranean pockets littering the planet's crust. Jeth led his fellow Jedi into a large chamber underground, where the group faced an unexpected cave-in, followed by an ambush by the Nelori Marauders. Although the ensuing battle proved costly to the Jedi force, Jeth's use of the battle meditation technique allowed the Jedi to ultimately defeat the Marauders. (Read more…)
