  1. Even though Cal has "only" been editing since 2010, he has quickly become one of the core users on the wiki. An infinite power, Cal is definitely very engaged and dedicated to the wiki—with over 15,000 edits in just two years, Cal is someone who you constantly see on the Recent changes. He is extremely active on all article review pages, having written over 100 (yes, really!) comprehensive articles, around 20 GAs, and a few FAs as well. Cal has definitely shown that he is an adept writer and good reviewer, being part of both the AgriCorps and the Inquisitorius reviewing panel. As a member of both reviewing panel, Cal has a huge impact on what can be construed as the facade of the wiki. In addition to this, he actively participates in the other community aspects of the wiki, participating in TC threads, CT votes, and SH forums. Whenever there is something important going on in the community, Cal is there to provide detailed and well-argued points, strengtening his position as one of the core pillars of the Wook. I have never seen him acting in a hostile manner, which definitely shows that he is more than capable of being a good admin. He treats everyone with respect and in a good manner, which is a quality that an admin needs to possess. He is online a lot, patrolling the RC and improving the Wook in all possible ways. Cal is, in my opinion, the best admin candidate on the wiki at the time of writing this RfA, and I believe all of you can agree with my words above. This man, if someone, is a user who I want to see as my fellow candidate, and believe that giving a trusted and respected user admin privileges will help not only Cal to perform his tasks better, but also the wiki.   3. I believe in Cal Jedi. There is no other way to say this—Cal is not only an outstanding contributor and an asset to the Wook, he is also a good friend. The guy is a very strong candidate, and from a neutral perspective, you could definitely tell that Cal totally respects the Wook and others just by looking at what he does. Knowing him for quite a while, I know he is a genuine person. His willingness to be friendly and civil greatly shows on both the Wiki and on IRC and there is no doubt that these are two good attributes. Calalala, I do hope you enjoy your new powah.   12. Cal has come a very long way since he first started out. Being very honest, when he was still new I used to think he wasn't going to make it. But he has that special quality that very few Wookieepedians embody that makes him stand out from the rest of the crop. He's already turned himself into a respected leader of the community, and I know for a fact how hard he works to maintain a working relationship with his fellow users, particularly those whom he may not always see eye-to-eye with. And in the end, I think that's really what being an admin is all about. I see Cal as someone who hasn't even begun to exhaust the treasury of what he has to offer Wookieepedia, and our community would do nothing but benefit from granting such an exceptional user these advanced privileges.   13. I've worked closely with Cal over the last year, and needless to say, he has blossomed into a, ahem, premier Wookieepedia user. I know he will act responsibly for the best of the site, and the site will be better for allowing Cal greater responsibilities. I've worked with Cal for a while now, and I've seen him in action, both in leadership (particularly leading "me" at an ACmoot :P, but in many, many other cases besides that) as well as dispute resolution. He's been respectful to all users he interacts with, even when he doesn't necessarily agree with them, which is a vital trait in itself.   1. Why do you want to become an administrator?
    • For the same reason that I'm sure most other admin candidates have said. I love both Star Wars and Wookieepedia, and being an admin would help me continue to serve both to a better capacity.
  2. In your opinion, what is the role of an administrator?
    • There are many things that go into being a good administrator. Mainly, the role of an admin is leadership. While there are many tasks that an admin is to do, being there for the community as a leader should be the main priority.
  3. In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political position?
    • Both. As a technical position, they have more buttons and gadgets to assist in editing and the work that must be done on Wookieepedia. As a political position, they are there to be a leader and help to the Wook.
  4. How do you feel admins should use their power/stand in comparison with other users?
    • When you come right down to it, all users are Wookieepedians. Admins do need to use their authority to help out in situations. That is why they are there, to be a leader and stand as a representation and enforcement of Wookieepedia's guidelines.
  5. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
    • No matter where you go or what you do in life, you're going to find stress eventually. I won't lie and say I've never had stressful times on Wookieepedia. I have. When such a situation presents itself, though, I take time to relax and reevaluate the situation. Then, I can return and deal with the problem with a level head.
  6. Of your articles or contributions to Wookieepedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
    • I liked doing Guybrush Threepkiller. The CANs from The Essential Atlas were pretty entertaining, as well.
  7. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?
    • Deletion, blocking, archiving if need be. Basically, anything that needs to be done that I can help with.
  8. How important is it for you to be involved in things such as CT, FA, GA, and other community-centered items that involve discussion and voting?
    • Very important. Being the leaders of the site, admins need to be there for discussions and votes. As for the GAN and FAN reviews, they are to be mainly handled by the AC's and Inqs. Since I'm an AC and Inq, though, I plan on continuing to give reviews on both kinds of articles.
  9. Do you think admins performing actions (I.e. deletions, blocks, etc.) for reasons not covered on policy should be sanctioned/punished? If so, how?
    • Policy should be followed first and foremost. Certain situations, though, demand a different solution. Only in extreme circumstances should a different path be taken. If an admin is abusing his power, he/she should be told in private where he is making a mistake. If he/she fixes said problem, great. If not, that is why we have the WP:RFRUR.
  10. What is your policy, if any, of welcoming new users? Should you welcome a new user, do you look at his/her contributions beforehand? What about anonymous IPs?
    • All new users have the potential of becoming good, productive users. So, I see no problem with giving them a welcome when they join. If an anonymous user proves to be a good editor, it might be a good idea to encourage them to join under a user name.
  11. How would you react if someone undeleted an article you'd mistakenly speedied? Under what circumstances would you consider it appropriate to undelete an article mistakenly speedied by another administrator, if any, and how would you approach this task?
    • If someone undid my delete, I would address the situation in private where we could work the situation out. If someone deleted an article mistakenly, I would reinstate the article, but explain to them the reasons of why I did it.
  12. How would you react if your user page was vandalized? Under what circumstances would you block the offender? Is there anything else that you would do in this situation?
    • Depending on how badly it was vandalized, it would most likely result in a warning, and if continued, a block. That is the same for anyone's user page, or article for that matter, not just my own.
  13. Under what circumstances would you consider blocking an established user?
    • If he/she needed to be blocked, then it must be done. I would, again, first talk to them in private, showing them their mistake. If they did not rectify the situation, then a block would be needed. An established user should not receive extra special treatment simply because they've been here longer.
  14. If you could change any one thing about Wookieepedia, what would it be?
    • I enjoy Wookieepedia very much as it is. Once in a while, I come across something that I think I might like to change someday. All in all, though, I think Wookieepedia is one of the best sites on the web.
  15. Would you look at a glass to be half-empty or half-full?
    • It's at half. End of story.
  16. Do you feel the current blocking policy is too restrictive, not restrictive enough, or OK as it is?
    • Overall, it is good as is. Pretty much everything could be improved here and there, but the current blocking policy seems to work rather well.
  17. Have you ever considered becoming a regular visitor to the Wookieepedia IRC chat?
    • I'm on quite often, actually.
  18. How do you feel about people who already have some influence on other Star Wars communities (TheForce.Net, StarWars.com) trying to change policies here?
    • If it is for the betterment of Wookieepedia, fine. They won't receive special treatment here, though, just because they're involved somewhere else. They would need to go through the process just like everyone else. They can't just walk in and change something simply because they think they deserve it.
  19. How many clones do you think fought in the Clone Wars? (Note: You are wrong no matter what answer you give.)
    • One. They used trick mirrors.
  20. Who is the most awesome Jedi of all time? (Note: The only correct answer is Kyle Katarn.)
    • Cal Jedi is the wrong answer, then?
  21. What's more important to you: consensus or policy?
    • Both are important. Policy is the "code" we live by. However, consensus can override policy. Both need to be taken in perspective for what they represent.
  22. Have you had any previous leadership experience (in your community, on the web, etc.)?
    • On the web, I'm an operator on a Minecraft server (Shadow Empire). In real life, I've done various leadership roles. I was a director on a fan-made Indiana Jones movie, for example.
  23. What is your attitude towards users who have quit the site or have been banned, but still continue to attempt to influence the site in any way?
    • If their contributions are for the good, then that's great. If not, then the issue needs to be addressed.
  24. What is your wiki philosophy?
    • We're here for Wookieepedia and Star Wars, not ourselves.
